These are the nativity figures described above. My MIL did the petit point stitching, then I put them together and stuffed them.

Thanks, Josephine. She has done needlework all of her 89 years and has many, many pieces to show for it. We cherish them.

Josephine, it's funny you would say that because she was raised in the south and taught strict rules of etiquette. Her mother was quite Victorian, actually. She learned all the things good southern girls need to know - how to entertain, set a formal table, play bridge and mahjong, do all types of needlework, write thank you cards, dress in full make-up and wear good jewelry every day. She's very sharp mentally and has better posture than I do! My 92 year old FIL does pretty well for himself, too.

They are both amazing. 92 yr old FIL does 20-30 min exercising when he gets up in the morning, eats breakfast, then goes to gym at retirement community where they live and "works out" using light weights and machines. You wouldn't believe his muscle tone. We would have lost him last Jan. when he had congestive heart failure and pneumonia if he hadn't been so strong to begin with. Makes me feel like a slug........

I misidentified the creche figures earlier. They are counted cross stitch rather than petit point - but very small cc stitch at that!

I think it is wonderful to see people taking good care of themselves and looking good at any age, but at their age it is remarkable. Keep up the good work!!!
