Prayers coming your way Sylvia.....

Starkville, MS

Sylvia- my prayers for you, your brother and his wife.

IO1 - try the flavored water - Dasani ( and probably other brands) has a line out with different flavors, raspberry, lemon, etc) no real nutritional value to speak of, but the taste might help you keep your fluid intake up for now. I like them *real* cold. Also add fresh oranges as much as you can. If you like raw cabbage, the heart has loads of Vit C in it. In other words - get well!!

Off to town - new battery for the Jeep, MAIL CHRISTMAS CARDS! (sorry for yelling but this is a biggie for me!), a little grocery shopping and home to snuggle up by the fire and crochet for the rest of this yucky weather day.

To all take care and have a good day.

GM everyone! It's a fine day in the neighbourhood and the sun is out bright and pretty :-) I canny believe me eyes! I've been so starved for sunlight these past many days and I'm feeling like a person renewed from the daytime star shine! It's one of those ahhhhhh-moments :-)

sedrick, welcome to our kaffee klatch and brekky buffet. You'll never regret joining our circle of friendship and companionship. There are a wonderful bunch of folks in here, eclectic as they are, they each have their own uniqueness to share. I'm sorry to read of your brother's strife. I'm sure you must be devastated as he is probably still in shock. Just know everyone here supports you and will be here for you in spirit.

darius, you never cease to amaze me. You're a busy gal, always with something going on and packing and moving to boot. I don't know how anyone could ever keep up with you.

I don't mean to slight anyone for not mentioning them specifically, but I want to thank each of you for your posts. It's grand reading about folks *past lives*, the fun they've had, sharing your recipes, sharing your lives in general. You're all a fab group and I send my heartiest *top o' the mornin'* to you! ~Babs~

P.S. I'm working all weekend, so keep your fingers crossed people are too busy with their holiday preparations to worry about coming to the ER for minor stuff. I'm ready for an easy 4 shifts. Ha! like that will ever happen. *heavy sigh*

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

O Darius pass me a big slice of that yummy bread!. I'm sitting here half nekkid (took the top off so as not to get hair goo on it) waiting for the highlights to take. Hair dresser suggested I switch to one of the Wash out eventually hair products, and just let the gray to the highlights. Might do. Next time.

Odd one, indeed....does that make the other Carol the even one?

Did two loads of laundry, finished the sauce and it's freezing in the garage now, cold enough here to do the job. Have to go down to the basement and see if I have jelly jars for gifting, otherwise I use whatever small jars I've stored away. Didn't do the jam (not enough sugar), and I don't want to make a run to the store, takes an hour out of the day. Tomorrow morning I'll do that, and combine it with a run to Michaels and see about something to fix the faded colors on the cloth birds my sister sent me from Guatamala 'way back in the 90s. They make bright spots for the dull winter days. My Christmas cactus is going nuts, I counted 12 blossoms yesterday!

OK fine. I'll dust. And finish another load the Laundry Monster left.

Oh dummy me forgot the pic Eating my toast cheese and tomato sandwich, used that apple aged cheddar I picked up ...soooo goood.

Taking a break, more odd sizes to pack than I thought so it's going S l o w ...

Lovely CC, M5. Mine are all moved to my sister's in FL and since they don't like to be moved when in bud, doubt we'll have any flowers.

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7b)

OMGosh!!! How beautiful is that cactus?!? And the pot it's in just sets it all off!!!! It's fabulous M5, absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations!!! ~Babs~

Well, y'all just wait. I'll have blooms on *my* Christmas cactus come next Christmas ... thanks to Darius. And Sylvia gave me a beautiful ... mon Darius ... help me out. You *know* my puter can't say those weird names! LOL Anyway, it's a gorgeous cactus and just a growing. Darius gave me a piece of hers that broke off, and I stuck it in the pot with Sylvia's. They're both doing just great.

Okay, just made more coffee. Also ate a piece of cheesecake. Before you give me a hard time ... just remember that was the *same* cheesecake I thawed up a week ago this past Monday when my Aunt came. I only thawed 6 pieces and am just finishing it off. Not bad, huh? Of course, y'all have kept me full of all sorts of goodies. ;)

tgif, will definitely have to try that flavored water. Think I could handle that a bit easier.

Babs, you sure sound chipper today. Will pray you have it easier the next few days.

M5 don't work too hard. You're making me feel like a bum. LOL

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Elaine, it's epiphyllum... try this for pronunciation: epee file um (short "e" to begin the word, almost like an "a")

Can you teach Jaws that?

Working on it. LOL Thanks! :)

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks, the pot came first, and the CC was just luck! Last year it bloomed until March.
Elailne, don't feel bad..I just ate lunch, made myself a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich and used that aged cheddar I picked up this week, opened a rootbeer, sat down to read posts and lost my get up and go! Now I feel like either reading or taking a nap or both. I started a book several days ago and only got to page 34, up to 45 while eating lunch and now it's whispering to me....come here....read meeeee.....but the laundry monster is yelling "EMPTY THE WASHER YOU LAZY COW, PUT IN ANOTHER LOAD!!" I think he's a second cousin to my conscience.

We are getting a bit of snow. I'm glad for it, it's covering the back garden with a soft white blanket

Hey Darius ... *done* Yea! :)

Starkville, MS

Elaine, don't panic or be disappointed if your epis don't bloom this coming year - most of my cuttings take two to three years to bloom - but, oh wow! Are they worth waiting on. In the meanwhile they are interesting looking. My SIL got a cutting from me and her grandson calls it the "moose plant" because it looks like its growing antlers. I had several blooms this summer on the older ones - soooo sweet!

I lucked out this afternoon. Was supposed to go into town, but dh said he would do it and I could stay home. Love that man!

So now back to my comfy chair and a quiet afternoon. This may be the last one I get for awhile, since things are building up toward the Christmas crazies.

My goodness M5 how did you get that cactus to rebloom? we got three in the office and they are just there.
Sylvia

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

I have no clue. I don't treat it particularly well.....my house plants are badly neglected in the warm months. This one must just be a survivor. I haven't even fertilized it. Maybe if you just ignore them? It's only three years old. It is in a well lighted room, the dinette has light from three sides, but it's in the north window.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Yes, Happy, everythng is is in the box.

Welcome but am so sorry to hear about your broher, Sylvia

(Zone 8b)

Hi again - the trifle is done, no cream though - DH and DS can't handle it so it has to go on after it served for those who can! I think its about 2000 calories a potion, but it isn't Jan 2nd yet.Oh and don't eat and drive !!!!!!LOL
That is a lovely cactus M5. My step mother had a huge one that flowered twice a year. They seem to like being left alone in one place. Hers was in the middle of the dining room table not far from a north facing window, and lots of light all round but no sun. It never got moved because she never used the dining room. I could never keep mine in one place for long and the dogs pulled it down twice, so the poor thing never really got going and I gave up! LOL
Sylvia that is pretty rough for your brother - and not the best time of year for that sort of news for the family either. I'm thinking of you.
Back to my Laundry monster, we wear too many clothes when its cold!

Waiting for Dad to come home....that's our boy, Willie Gunn. Can you tell he's a Daddy's boy? He's sitting on the English Commode chair at the front window patiently waiting. I just thought I'd share a cute picture of one of our two BT's. When he looks like this, this is when I feel guilty for going to work. ~Babs~

Of course he would be sitting in the English chair, where else? He is looks so full of anticipation, won't he be happy when Dad comes home

Wish I could get a pic of my baby. She looks soooo pitiful. She hasn't gone outside but one time all day today. Poor thing hates the rain. It's been a *cold, messy* one. Oh well, when she has to go bad enough ... she'll go ... then stand there on the rug as if to say, "well Mama ... dry me off!"

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Checking in while I grab a bite of lunch. Plain yogurt. And then some of that bread pudding. I had oatmeal for breakfast before I went out to trudge through the snow and feed the horses.

Hap, sorry to hear that many of your orchids still look so bad. I would keep them anyhow and give them tlc, they just might rise from the ashes and surprise you. The unlabeled ones will possibly be identifyable when they bloom. Were they badly beat up besides having salt water? Did you take off the old potting medium and plant them in new?

Sylvia, sorry to hear that your brother's cancer is back. It's so hard to watch a loved one struggling with something like this. Did your SIL tell you if any treatment can be done, or how long he will still be with us? When is your trip to Europe? Do you feel a need to change plans now to spend more time with him?

It's such a beautiful day! I made an extra trip down to the spring to see if the water had seeped back into it. When I dug it out this morning all I got was ice and mud. I did see a horse track that looked wet nearby so I dug there and the mud looked wetter. Ok, there's more hope here. About an hour later I made another trip down there through the snow to see if there was water in either place. Yes, in the new one but not in the old. Ok. But that was after I had opened the gate so the two horses in that pasture could come in with the other ones for water. I had thrown the hay back over the fence so decided to let all 5 horses stay together until tonight. It looks like I need to do some digging down there after winter is over, maybe install a tire to help keep the water warmer. Heat from the sun would warm the tire somewhat and maybe keep the water from freezing. Maybe. I have seen huge tires used as water troughs and the water in them doesn't freeze at 5 or 10 below 0, so maybe I could try this. Probably the volume of water and the thickness of the tire combine to accomplish that and I am limited because of level ground in that area so can't get it off the ground, actually it would be in the ground except for the top edge and would need a fence or something to keep the horses feet out of it. Have to think more about what I could do there. Of course that doesn't help with anything this winter.

I'm getting my exercise just doing chores and getting around in the snow with heavy boots on. Smaller steps, more of them, slipping backward on hills, hauling my 2 wheeled garden cart from haystack to horses through about 6 inches of snow, etc. It all adds up. Sarv, and Kelly, want to come and help, it's guaranteed to burn a few calories! I lost my pedometer somewhere a couple of weeks ago and hope it will turn up.

I keep forgetting to say that the horse with the sore foot is much better. He walks pretty well on it now, limping only slightly, but when he trotted a few steps I could see that it is not real comfortable yet. But, it's much improved and I'm thankfull not to have had to give him penacillin shots. Thanks for your well wishes for him.

I'm heading out to the greenhouse and will take the camera. I have several Christmas Cactus and Thanksgiving Cactus in various stages of bloom and also a good sized Jade blooming. There is repotting and watering to be done, too. Fun!!

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

whew .. been checking in, but havn't taken time to post. trying to get lots done here at work because tomorrow we are supposed to get snow. Maybe a day off? Supposed to get 4-6 inches if the forcast is right.

Maria - According to the weather maps, you are supposed to get more than us, maybe 6-8 inches?

Kooger - That boss sounds like the pitts. Hope your meeting with him goes well.

Sylvia - Welcome! Sorry to hear about your brother, will keep you and family in prayers.

Babs - What a cutie pie!

M5 - very pretty cactus!

Okus - trifle looks yummi!

l01 - Hope that cold is better soon

I know I have missed commenting on alot, but have a half hour left here and need to finish a couple of things. Tonight is tea night with Mom and Sis so don't know if I'll be back. If not, everyone have a good evening and stay safe with all this weather stuff going on.

Sylvia, I wasn't ignoring you about your brother. Just overloaded right now with friends with heartaches. I will add him to my Prayer List.

Sarv, the answer to the free meds is that most of the Physician's Assistance Programs (free meds from the drug companies) are phasing out anyone 65 or older after Jan. 1 because of the new Medicare Prescription Drug Program. If someone cannot afford drugs now, and then have to pay a monthly premium, plus a hefty deductible and then a hefty co-pay, who has benefited?

Well, I don't think I'm suppose to say the "g" word ... so lets just suffice it to say that it's usually not good when they get involved. *sigh*

Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)

Hi everyone!

I just got to check in and see what your'e doing (and eating!!) I'm so ready for the Bruschetta, and then maybe a nice slab of cheesecake. Or is that pushy of me?

Two days ago someone kindly (at my request) yelled at me to clean my house, which I really needed. I would love to have some clean for Christmas. Today, miracle of miracles, I ran around CLEANING all day. I'm so not done, but it felt good!! For me everything is a problem of inertia - and once I get going, I can keep going, for awhile.

Sylvia ~ hi, and I'll also keep your brother in my prayers.

MaryE ~ I enjoy doing your horse chores with you vicariously, and seeing all your photos. I'm glad your horse is better

Elaine ~ I hope you're on the mend.

Babs ~ Too cute! you can see he has quite high self esteem!!

meezer ~ gorgeous CC and that pot is just perfect for it!!

mg ~ I AM going to make redneck tiramisu for my daughter who's a tiramisu connoisseur!! She will die laughing if nothing else!! I love it! BIL who's a chef in NYC brought Twinkies to deep fry one time, when that was the big fashion. Why not tiramisu?

It's amazing to read some of the temps out there. Okus, what a huge drop!! those swings are so hard on everything! We're supposed to be cold tonight, but not bitter - teens, which I don't think is anything for up here - some chance of snow tomorrow. Maybe 6 inches total. We're not getting the really big dumping. Kids are hoping for a snow day, and you know, I like feeling snowed in. Makes the decisions easier if you know you're not going anywhere.

Hi to everyone else - oh, and darius hang in there. Stay safe in the storms!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Just listened to the weather report, Suzie, it sounds like we are not getting as much the western part of MA will get, I live not far from the cape and RI, just hope they are right.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Taking another break, packing is very slow today. Having trouble grasping with my left hand which doesn't help. Dinner is in the oven, Grilled Rosemary Chicken, another Stoufer's Corner Bistro. They are actually pretty good for frozen dinners. (Too much already packed to cook from scratch.)

The Kitchen is proving a problem to pack... like my big pottery soup tureen that takes up almost a whole box by itself and not much else will fit in with it.

Weather forecast was calling for sleet until midnight, then snow. So far I only see rain... and I have packed my indoor-outdoor thermometer so I don't even know the temperature right here on the creek.

LOL on the Redneck Tiramisu! Y'all have me wanting to bake goodies as soon as I get to FL and rested. So, I have carefully marked the baking stuff!

Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)

darius~ don't forget the TWinkies!!

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

The trifle looks like it needs me with a big spoon and a plate to be perfect. What a treat.
We're getting some of the snow that blew through the west, and much more tonight according to the weather geeks. Heard from my Ebay lady and she's snowed in in Kansas. That will be good when the mailman drops the boxes, they won't land so hard.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother, Sylvia. We'll be here for you, on the days it seems to be more than you can bear.

If anybody else says the D word (which incidentally IS a four letter word) I'm getting the 2 x 4 and coming after you. Can you imagine after getting a thorough rotorooting in prep for the colonoscopy I didn't lose an ounce! Lends new meaning to being full of.... oh, never mind. LOL

Where's Ernie and Robert? Did we scare them off with too much girlie talk? Thought we were being pretty well behaved. Except for the drunks. Oops. I mean hot chocolate drinkers. SARV!! You had a good breakfast and then topped it off with schnapps??

Hair came out o.k. so I don't have to wear a hat for 6 weeks. Didn't dust. Didn't do jam. Did do lots of laundry. What a lamebrain, I stripped the bed linens and decided to do the mattress pad as well. Put on clean sheets, stuffed the feather quilt into a clean duvet, stuffed the pillows in their clean cases, plumped everything up nice and pretty.........and discovered I forgot to put on a clean mattress pad. Yowza. Gettin' old is really fun. Had to do the hospital bed trick, fold up everything half way, put it on, fold everything back down, fold the other half , unlump the bumps, put it all back in order. Must have been four hundred extra steps around and around that bed. Who needs aerobics?

Real good day. Then I sat down and made a couple of phone calls, hit my rootbeer with my elbow, splashed all over the rug, had to get out the carpet cleaner and get it out. Boy, do I know how to have fun. You know, I might as well be drinking!!

MaryE, you get more exercise in a half a day than I do all week! Good that your horse is healing, they are more delicate than they look.

Kooger, your boss is an idiot. Must not realize that treating people like they are trying to cheat the company out of time usually results in people not performing well. I see a lot of the kids who used to work for me, at company functions, and they all have said at one time or another, they wished I was still their boss. I had great empathy for working mothers, I was one and I knew how hard it was to juggle a full time job and run a household. I sent more than one employee home early after they got an emergency phone call. But those same kids (some are now grandmothers!) would work their buns off for me when I needed something done and I didn't have to ask twice.

Look at that Willy Gunn.....actually he looks like one of my old bosses, but one who was a dear, and I still see him and his sister occasionally for lunch. He's lost almost all his sight now too, and if she didn't get him out once in a while he would be a hermit.

Maria, I had tuna casserole for dinner tonight, you reminded me. DH loves it. I make sure I eat a big lunch. Not my favorite. I need tomato sauce on my macaroni! I read all the posts, so hello to all I haven't mentioned by name, I'm not forgetting you, I'm just out of time. This will be good night for me....but I'll peek in in the morning just to see what you've been up to.

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

darius,
And don't forget to put it out on the counter, mmmmm I don't like to cook, but I sure do like to eat,,,LOL

Speaking of which, I Just got done working, so I better go scrounge something up for dinner,,YUK,,,,,have no clue,,, hmmmm, this isn't gonna be pretty. Check back later tonight.

Hi all,

Welcome Sylvia and sorry about your brother.

I'm so very tired tonight, didn't sleep well last night, got up with a sore back and don't feel like I got anything near enough done today. I plan to hit the bed in a few minutes.

101, hope you feel better.

M5 the cactus is gorgeous. My mother has one but it's been existing for years in a too small pot with hardly any soil. The poor thing got so top-heavy that it kept falling over and landing on the floor. I finally got around to re-potting it and it's actually put on a little new growth. I don't think we'll see any flowers on it for at least another year, but I'm amazed that it's even still alive.

Darius, your lunch sounded great (certainly a lot better than Slim Fast!)

Tried Tiramisu once and have never been tempted to try it again even though I do like coffee. I've made the trifle as well, but without the "jelly" and with acual egg custard. (Sorry Carol, I detest Bird's "custard" though DH grew up with it and loves the stuff.)

Mary, you'd be making me feel tired if I wasn't already about as tired as I can get!

Don't mean to leave anyone out, but I really do have to crawl off to bed.

Goodnight everyone.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

m5, sounds like YOU did have big plans for today. Do you make raspberry jam with berries frozen earlier in the season? Hope the hair color worked out well.

Elaine - glad you were feeling better this morning. Others have advised you to take Vit C and drink water. I also take some Echinacea and something with Zinc in it.

Maria - yes. Glad to have DH home. He got home on Friday and seems fine. He's finished with his oral antibiotics today. He generally "hangs out" with the grandkids on Thursdays. Sometimes I help out (and I did more when they were younger because it would take two adults to safely take them to the park at one stage), but I tell him that as far as making a REGULAR weekly commitment, no way. I did my bit when our kids were little and he was travelling all over the Arctic for several weeks at a time and only sporadic radio contact in those days. He brought the kids here after Kindermusik this afternoon and they enjoy playing the piano and with a few toys we have here that they don't have at home. The driving isn't a full three hours because we are at Kindermusik for about an hour, but it takes a three hour hole out of my day off.

Yes, we have Dr. Oetker products now in Canadian stores, but I didn't realize they were amde here. Thought they were all limported from Germany. That's where I first encountered them was when we lived in Germany - 1976-77. They were a standard brand for baking products. Is there something that you think I might find in Canada that you can't find? If so, I'll take a look.

Kelly, as above, DH is doing well.

Re weight loss, let's all remind each other come early January. But not too early. My big party is January 7. LOL but I was down 2 pounds this week when I reported into Weight Loss Challenge this morning. Not sure why, but it seems to be legit. I'm not likely to fit into the green silk suit from my daughter's wedding by Christmas time though. Guess I'll look at St. Patrick's day.

Kooger, I hope your meeting with the boss went in your favour. You did the right thing.

Mary E, I quit sending most Christmas cards last year. Postage costs did me in. When I get a chance I'll put up a Christmas greeting on our web site and e-mail everyone a link to it. And with the money I save, I'll make a charitable donation.

Talking about hiding things from DH's makes me think of the volunteers at the Food Cupboard. I've been known to lock the last large can of coffee (for the vols) or box of tea bags in our safe 'cause they never tell me we are getting low on things until it's too late.

mg - take care of that infected thumb. Finger infections have been known to become more major infections.

darius, your rosemary olive oil bread spread with organic cream cheese and topped with sliced kalamata olives sounds great. Makes me hungry. Elaine, if you've got a similar recipe, please share. Oh, you're way ahead of me. Just came to it.

Sylvia, I'll keep your brother and wife in my prayers. Keep us posted.

Babs, hope nobody gets into accidents while you are on your shifts. It's getting into party time of year.

Nice cactus M5 and I agree with Babs about the pot. If I remember, I'll attach one of mine which overdid itself in blooming a short time ago.

Sylvia, they need some cool and darkness. I put mine out in the screened porch for the summer and when I bring them in - late September, they are always covered in buds and generally bloom in November. When they are finished, I have them on window shelves in an east window in the living room. since we have the TV in the basement, they have longer hours of darkness and coolness from being near the window in the winter and mine often bloom again in the spring.

I have an older variety, smiggled across the Canadian border in 1970 from a second cousin's plant. It's blooming right now and looks almost as good as the one in the picture, but being an older variety, the flower buds are very light sensitive and if you turn the direction of the plant relative to the window or light, the buds will twist themselves off.

We had a good bell practice this evening though we did drop one piece of music. Played through everything else and I tink it will go well tomorrow at the US Embassy. Our foam pads (or 6 of them - we have 9 total) are all bundled up and ready to be packed into a van. This morning, I adjusted all three octaves of bells that we are taking. Mostly just a tweak here and there on the spring adjustments or setting all the cclapper heads on uniform settings, but I had to take one bell completely apart to get at the small adjusting screw on it.
We have a couple of bells that are unusually bright and I put a small piece of moleskin on the clapper to tone them down.

I've brought our red scarves home for a wash and iron. Someone else washed all the "communal" gloves, though many of us have our own gloves now.

We will all (except for a few coming from work) gather at the church around 11 tomorrow morning. Those of us travelling with the bells will go ahead and everyone else will meet at the embassy at 12:15. Wish us luck.

this is WAY too long. Better send it. Have a good night everyone.

Wheew, just tired from reading about all you all have done today, baking, cleaning, laundry. Well I started out big guns today, but my sewing machine broke, and ended up spending too much time trying to figure out if I could temporarly fix it. Will call someplace tomorrow to see if I can get it worked on in the next millinium. DH can wait on the pants, (5 pair) but the throw for DGD is supposed to be a Christmas present, so will probably go to DM's tomorrow, and borrow her machine to get that done. 101, please understand, I am not handy at sewing, but to hem, and sew straight seams. Took Home-Ec in high school, had a battle-ax for a teacher, and she took all the enjoyment out of trying to learn anything but survival in her class. Twin sister called about noon, and her MIL passed away this morning. The funeral will be Sunday afternoon, so I will be heading north, to give whatever support that I can to her and her DH. That means I have to make adjustments in visiting schedule for DGD this weekend. I asked DH if he would handle taking my DM to church, and getting DGD home Sunday afternoon, while I make the 3 hour one way trip. So still trying to figure out logistics for Sunday.

Sylvia, didn't mean to slight you on your fisrt foray into this thread. So welcome, and feel free to help yourself to what ever is on the counter. So sorry to hear about your brother. Hope there is a treatment that will be available to him.

Sorry to seem that I am slighting you. Have been in a funk, which started last night. Slipped into that deep dark abyss, after doing so well for many months. I think that it started with the loss of Oskar, and just accelerated with domestic things here. You would have thought that he belonged to me. So think of me, and pray that this doesn't last long. It is such a bad time of year, to have to deal with this on top of the holidays.

Well going to go to bed, as the wind is howling and it is colder than blue blazes. Maybe tomorrow will be better, and on the upswing.

Night all.

Defoe, you know how awful it is down there in that black hole, try to hang on before you fall otherwise it is hard to get out of it, I know all about it. Holidays are wonderful if every thing goes the way one expects but if they don't it becomes one huge pain to suffer through.
You are the only one in charge of yourself so pick up your chin, clean your brain of things you cannot change and know you can handle any other problems that come your way.

I only had one meltdown today, so I'm dragging myself out of the situational hole, and I'll reach a hand down to you when I get up to the edge. I'm still walking that fine line though. Give yourself a break, and don't set your expectations too high. My chore list is pretty flexible. I didn't dust. and I didn't make jam because I thought I had enough sugar but nope. Tomorrow is another day and I don't think the housekeeping police are going to bother with my trivial procrastinations. Or yours. Chores must come with preservatives, because mine last forever.

Ann, that cactus is gorgeous. Mine's just a baby. Mom had one that was about 50 years old. They kept buying it bigger plant stands. It disappeared right after she passed away, I think her sister spirited it off to a friend. Lots of her things were missing. My sister has one that has three different colored blooms!! Hope your performance tomorrow is spectacular and you enjoy doing it.

I'm going to go crawl into my prewarmed bed, because I am dog tired. See you in the morning...
