I'm working with my trade list again, removing some of the items I no longer want or need from my Wanted list and I can't remember what some of them are. I'm having to either click through to the PlantFiles or open a new window, and search for each plant. It would be so nice if we could access the PlantFiles page for the plants we're working with from our trade list. Is there a way you could put a link to the PF page for each plant on the main list page?
Thank you very much!
RG
Another trade list request
Well, I'm back again with the Trade List pestering. ;o)
In looking at other subscriber's trade lists, it would be nice to have a link on the individual plant pages as well, so if we're working out a trade with someone for a plant or seeds we could access the PF page for it right from the page they're offering it on in their trade list. Does that make sense?
Dave, if you want me to leave you alone about the trade list links, just tell me. :o)
Thanks!
RG
Those are good ideas - a link does appear on our journal entries, assuming the botanical name of the plant matches an entry in PlantFiles; similarly, a link to PF from a tradelist entry would be good, too!
I noticed that we had one in our journal, but not one in the Trade Lists. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too much trouble to make the TL have links, too. It was worth a shot to ask! :o)
Thanks Terry!

Another solution I use a lot I just to open another Explorer (or whatever) window. Then you can just pop back and forth between them.
I think one of the things that prevents the tradelist from associating with PlantFiles is there isn't a cultivar field, which makes it difficult (if not impossible) for the system to match up.
Dave could probably add that field to the tradelist and re-program the "add this plant to your tradelist" function to populate the fields more correctly - but the bigger question is, how many users are happy with the (somewhat complex) tradelist feature as it now stands?
That's been the biggest debate over it - some want an easy "one-big-text-box" approach for their tradelist, which is the easiest way to input and maintain the data.
But for searching the tradelists and matching against PlantFiles, a multiple input field arrangement is superior - but much more difficult for users to get the hang of.
Oh I don't want to make a bunch of extra work for Dave, and reprogramming anything sounds like way too much work. It was just an idea I had during one of my lazy moments! LOL Trust me, I'll find what I want to know! I usually just do what Katy suggested above and open another explorer window.
Thanks for the explanation, Terry!
