Arborea, self pollinated. My prettiest of all my pods!! And so fuzzy soft.

First time I think I have seen a pod. It's pretty. So how many seeds will be in this?

Crystal

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I'm so jealous of anyone that had blooms this year, let alone pods.

Thanks for starting this Kell, it'll be nice to see what get posted,

Love that pod, Kell. I think they are my favorite of all. Wish I could grow Arborea, I've killed 3.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

I love your Arborea pod! It kind of looks like an unripe fig to me! :~)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Crystal, there were probably 20 seeds in that pod. It is small pod as pods go.

So where are all your pods, you guys?? LOL. Ok, I will post another.

These were on Golden Lady, mixed dads. The pods are somewhat aurea shaped, but I have no idea what mix Golden Lady is. Does anyone know?

Question: I have two True Arborea White brugs, both with buds, and no other blooming brugs in my GH. If the TAWs do, indeed, bloom, will they self pollinate, yet again, like, might I get a pod?? Wow, what a question, I cannot wait to hear the answer...

Okay, I have to confess. I've been holding out. I used Superthrive and this is a pod from one of my 2 day old cuttings. LOL

Okay, I hate all of you - the only way my mind can be changed is if you send me seeds, all righty???

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I am pretty sure that is the pod that krnysgirl rooted in water.

LOL, You all have me laughing so hard. Okay, I'm taking order on seeds from the pod, but geez that postage is gonna be a killer. LOL.

Okay, name the movie that this pod is from.

Hey, Susie, I'm going to St Louie next week, and would go to wormsway to try to catch up but now, I'm afraid the DTF would be waiting for me, whew!!!

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Sorry, Crystal, writing is over the face and i cannot zoom it up, darn it!!! I know I would win, if only I could see...

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey.... I know that movie! It was invasion of the POD e Snatchers wasn't it?

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Oh, dear, ZZs, you are bad too and I still don't know, lol!!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Crystal. Amazing you found such a great picture. Everyone in that room looks so amazed by it also. LOL.

So Delisa's first pod, RK, is a typical aurea pod.

I was going to say Mary's first pod looks like a candida pod to me and her second one which is so skinny could be a versi pod.

I wonder on the hybrids, if the pod looks more like one species of brug if that means it has more of that specie's genes in it.

And Delisa's candida pod is one I want. LOL. Full of double pink seeds I am sure.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

ZZ, I think that pod of Crystal's is the thing that will do the snatching. It is huge. LOL! So Crystal, tell us what it really is supposed to be.

That is my guess Kell. I once saw a post where someone stated they had seen different types of pods on one brug, but I have never seen that.

My pod on GL looked just like your pods on your GL.

ZZ's is totally right! The pic of the pod came from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". It was a 1950's movie, I do believe. For some reason it just popped in my head and I did a google search and found it. LOL.

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

ROFL has anyone said outloud what I spelled out?

ZZ's that was funny, took me a minute, but I got it. LOL.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I did but I am slow, ZZ. LOL. I didn't see this classic picture, so tell me, what is that really a picture of?? A body snatcher egg? Good find, Crystal.

My guess too, Delissa. Mine always look similar though I notice not all are the same size when ripe. I wonder if that just relates to the energy of the plant at the time it is made, or if the dad has anything to do with the size.

Here is Susanne. What was her cross? Between a versi and an aurea?

Thumbnail by Kell

I think it is a pic of body pod. I think they snatched people and somehow grew them in pods in a swimming pool. When hatched, they were like zombies. I saw the movie, but don't remember much of it.

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Kell if you turn it sideways from the position in the photo is there a little indent at the bottom of the seed pod?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL, I think you are confusing the movie Cocoon with the Body Snatchers Crystal. LOL Or maybe Ron Howard saw the Body Snatchers!

Delisa, the Susanne pod? The one in the pic is long picked but I can go out and look at another. I have a bunch hanging on her.

Myrtle Beach, SC

Sigh, I had pods on Kyle's Pink and Insignis Coral. "Had" being the operative word here. Both pods got to around 3 inches long and fell off. I was so excited, darn it. No babies for me this year.

Good job you all, can't wait to see your babies next year !!
God bless, Margo

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Fun thread. No pods for me yet. According to the timelines I have been following, I am not due to have pods until the year after next. I still have to conquer keeping my cuttings alive and growing from seed.

It is cool how they are so unique from each other - just like the flowers.

Kell, I am confused! LOL. I mixed my movies together, didn't I. I'm gonna have to rent "the Body Snatchers".

You all are all so fun. We should all take a Brugmansia Cruise together.

This is Fun.
My first Pod Parade!
Not the first time my body had been snatched!
I'll have to find some POD pics.

Crystal- A brug cruise sounds like fun!!!!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Off tomorrow AM for photos

Corte Madera, CA

Myrtle Beach, SC
