OMG, I'm going to his concert friday night in buffalo with my neighbor JoAnne!!! Can ya tell i'm excited?
I feel a kinship with him because he came from, and lived in New Orleans.

The Bears Den at the Niagra Casino only seats 400 and we're in the 3rd row : ). I want to make a small sign that gets his attention. I would love y'all to help me think of something that says Hey, here i am!

I thought something like "I drove 1300 miles to see you" or "Katrinas winds blew me here"...something like that maybe?

Jen, he is an awesome person, and does so much for his community also! I love his voice and music.

gw, i was from gulfport, biloxi was the town to the east of us.

i like the "let the good times roll" idea, but dont know if i can fit it on a poster? heck, i'm not sure if they even allow them, so we may have to make 2 smaller ones and sneak them in, lol

Make it on a wide strip of old sheet and fold it up to conceal beneath your coat. ;)

Fabric paint would work well for that idea.

I adore him and his music. It is always hard to believe that high voice comes out of that huge tough looking man. I saw him at the Macy's parade last week and thoroughly enjoyed his music

In '97, I had no idea who he was. DH had one of his cd's in (romantic, eh) and I've been smitten every since, lol.....umm, towards DH and AN, lol.

I bought his "Gospel Roots" a few weeks ago and have been playing it alot. Over the past few years i feel like i've lost my faith, but that cd pulls something from inside. Maybe it wasnt lost, just buried?

Jen, did you make it to the concert? How was it? Let us know! Or is it this Friday?

It was this past friday and i'm still in awe! He was awesome! I find it so amazing that his voice comes out of that huge body of his.
I forgot the signs in the car, lol so i didnt call unnecessary attention to us ; )
I hope he comes back soon because i would for sure go again!

I am glad to hear you had a good time. Did the weather hold off for you, I know it was bad that night. Glad you have some good memories to cherish!

We had perfect weather up and back. In fact, on the way home we saw countless stars! Beautiful, clear cold night!
How far are you from Niagara?

I am 40 miles from Niagara Falls, about the same from the Amherst Buffalo area. I am up there all the time though. Especially the transit area near Eastern Hills Mall. I am also 40 miles from Rochester the other way! There is a sign at the end of our road "Rochester 42 miles....Niagara Falls 40 miles" Just depends which way you turn.

We only have a slight dusting of snow here, but it sure is cold!
