Ummm, it has 13 replies. It was moved from the Gen. Discussion to the Parking Lot forum, since it seemed more appropriate there (or maybe it should be in Jokes & Chat?)

I wonder if I caught it as it was being moved?

That's possible - I can't tell you what time I moved it, but it was probably close to the time you posted your note.

George, I thing the subject matter was automatically rejected. As I mentioned in the first post.
It had to do with a jerk going into a Best Buy store to ask how to delete pics from his digital camera. The pics were bad enough to get him arrested. I described it in maybe too much detail and I think kicked in an auto reject software feature.
Rather than having an empty post, I re-entered another story.
You saw it in between the 2 posts. You are just too quick.

Okay, this one IS missing the original message. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/554862/

I removed it, and sent a note explaining. My *guess* (and it's only a guess) is that occasionally a thread gets corrupted during the initial submission - either a time-out, a break in the transmission, the user closes the page too soon, hits their back arrow, etc. - something that disrupts the process and prevents it from completely submitting.

When that happens, the thread title shows up, but the thread itself is missing the first post.

I thought that sometimes the first message was deliberately blank so that non-subscribers couldn't read it. Am I wrong?

Okus, in those instances, the first post has some text - like "see next post" In fact, the system is designed to stop a user from posting a thread that doesn't have any text at all.

However, in what's being described here, the first post is completely missing, and the thread looks very strange (containing only the subject line, followed by the forum name and replies line, then the links to "Watch Thread - Print - Post Reply - Skip to New")

But there's no initial post at all.

Another empty one. ;) http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/562772/

LOL....Michele, the one you posted even has a different topic starter on the forum page than the person it shows started it on the thread. That was a mouth full.
