They ought to be banned!

Lakemont, GA(Zone 8a)

The folks in the temperate zones: FL, CA, TX, HI, etc... should be banned from showing their photos during the winter months- LOL!! All those gorgeous blooms and veggies still going full blast- arrgghh! How could y'all do this to us? My view from the window right now is 2 ugly brown dead Annabelle hydrangeas..... :(

I am too jealous!!

Kylertown, PA(Zone 5b)

I don't feel too sorry for ANY of you southern folks!

This is the view I have out of MY front door today! LOL!!

Last that I checked it was 18* outside.

Now we don't have snow yet, but can I just say that the view out your front door looks absolutely fabulous? (And I usually *hate* snow!) Looks like a beautiful neighborhood to me.
And berrygirl, aren't Annabelle hydrangeas the ones with the big, round flowers that can be left on the plant for winter interest? I think they're spectacular. From your name, I would guess that you might be more impressed with my red chokeberry, Aronia arbutifolia 'Brilliantissima', it just lost it's orange leaves, but has juicy red berries on the twiggy stems.

Lakemont, GA(Zone 8a)

Inda,
I ain't that far south- LOL!!

Prairie,
Mine suffered from drought long before the frost hit them so they really look pathetic.

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

Man I agree with you I do and don't like winter. It gives me time to regroup for another spring and summer but I am cold natured now. I used to be hot natured. Oh yea you get more snow in Georgia where you are than I get here in Raleigh.
The winter picture is beautiful hope Indashade gives us another glimps after Christmas decorations are up. LOL

Lavina,
what zone are you in? I have relatives in NC and they always get tons more snow than we do. I too would love to see indashades pix of a decorated snowy neighborhood.

I'll digress and say that I do in fact like winter. I like living where I have 4 true seasons. I could not imagine living where it's 80 degrees on Christmas day- LOL!! I LOVE snow and we hardly ever get any..... :( Y'all Northerners feel free to send it my way- HA HA!! I just miss my pretty plants and garden is all. And when I see pix from FL of tomatoes on the vine, I just drool!!

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

I'm zone 7 but in the piedmont, the mountains get lots of snow. Its 47 degrees here now and probably colder where you are. My Mom lives in Tallapoosa, Georgia and she said she's expecting rain.

Lakemont, GA(Zone 8a)

Lavina,
It's currently 53 at the local airport- LOL!! Don't know if I have ever been to Tallapoosa although I have certainly heard of it. I'll have to google it to see how far away I am from your Mom.

I don't know how far away you are from these areas but I have kin in Bessemer City, Charlotte, Dallas and Gastonia. This is my Aunt and all her 'younguns' scattered over NC. She always talks about the snow they get and I am sooo jealous! In the 1980's she lived for a few years in a place called McAdenville[sp?] that is billed as "Christmas City USA", right? I never got to go there but my Granny went and said it is beautiful. I have also saw it featured on TV.

Grantsboro, NC(Zone 8b)

Yelp they get more snow than we do. I'm about 3 and 1/2 hours from any of those towns. We are 2 hours from the beach and 3 and 1/2 from the mountains.
We have a place on the pamlico Sound and its snowed 1 st in 5 years there.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

I really like seeing flowers/plants posted from the warmer climates. Many pics are of things I don't/can't grow up here. Some I've never seen.
I also like having all 4 seasons, each one makes you appreciate the others more.

Maybe next spring I will have learned how to use my camera and can show some pictures from our area.

I wish I had my DC last winter when I opened the front door one morning to find the snow almost up to the door knob. A young neighbor had to dig me out so I could open the door. The kitchen door had snow up to the door bell.
I'm ready this year.

I won't put up a picture, but will leave it to your imagination,

7:09 a.m. - Cloudy, 70F, expecting a partly sunny day, high of 81 ..
:) Might get a "cold front" early in the week - Lows near 40, highs near 65. :)

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Ahhh, after 5 lovely weeks in western Maryland, with the beautiful extended Fall. A blistery cold week of transition in Front Royal, Va. A few days spent in Reidsville and Charlotte, NC, I have arrived HOME.
Now i can say ditto to AngelSong in Texas.

Sarahskeeper,
I too really like seeing pics from the warmer climes. I hope everyone knows that I am teasing- LOL!!

Aahh Angelsong your words were a bit too descriptive! My imagination is working overtime-LOL!!

Sugar,
Now thats the way to live! Go visit for a spell where its cold but you know you always have sunny FL to come home to[she types while turning greener and greener!] That's the best of both worlds.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)
