Chat Room Troubles

I'm having trouble with the chatroom. I can get there, and I can see that I'm in by the "welcome" note that comes up. I'm guessing I'm not really the only person in the chat room, but I can't see anyone else there. If I hit "list channels" all I get is a message in the cat box that says "I don't understand...type .help for help" I do have java enabled, and I use Firefox as my browser.

what's the chatroom ?-- new member here -- dont see anything on a tab for chatrooms -- presume there are different subjects -- are they scheduled? can anyone direct me to where info resides?

They are only open tuesday nites 7-10pm and thursday morning 7-10am
there will be a chat sign that magically appears in the upper tight hand coner of your home page!
