Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

dmc - Beautiful painting. Can ya come down to Jersey and do some for me? LOL

l01 - Glad you're feeling better after your tumble.

Cold and rainy here tonight. Made beef stew for dinner. Have to go fold some laundry left from yesterday. I'm sure I could find a couple more loads to do if I looked around.

Got to get a little work done tonight. Maybe I'll be back.

Schroon Lake, NY(Zone 4a)

Thanks - suzieq I used to live in Middletown NJ and my best friend's in Bucks Co. Pa so we used to meet in Lambertville or Frenchtown. I used to love the antique-toy store in Lambertville that had everything I had as a kid (My mother must have paid them to take it LOL). I haven't been down in awhile. Best friend and I met in Art school. There are a lot of really good painters in your are (least there were last time I looked!) Of course I paid approx $100 and took 20 hours of speed painting to do it. I probably couldn't afford to hire it done either!!

WS1 Do you think this year's flu shot is worse than usual? I hate getting sick. It stinks if you get sick from trying to avoid getting sick! No Fair at ALL! I hope you perk up for thanksgiving.

Hap - did you find that exquisite stained glass? If I were oing back to Rochester for a visit, it wouldn't be in December!! I try to toughen up and keep my thermostat at 60, but I think of it as conditioning, because we have plenty more where that came from - months of it. Guess that's why I painted the basement to look like summer!!

MaryE I envy you your tomatoes!! I had my heart set on canning this year but got blight with all the rain and humidity and the plants pooped out before I had that many. We did freeze about 20 gal bags of sauce. I have boxes and boxes of canning jars since I thought I'd have enough to can too ;-( Oh well, next year right? I built a whole new tomato garden (hillside retaining walls) and will sterilize everything, and the new spot is quite removed form the veggie garden. I had a good year for almost everything else.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Arrrrggghhh! Went back to work into the "tool room" which we had half emptied and packed earlier today and I stepped in a puddle of water. Turns out it was coming down the inside basement wall and seeping in at the floor. Heavy rains here today.

3 hours, several towels continuously wrung-out and finally the wet-dry vac, we are keeping even. We set the timer for every 20 minutes and vacuum more water. All this after my landlord said he fixed the drain situation this summer. NOT!!

We will have to check it every hour overnight lest it seep past the partition wall and into the area where all the packed books are stacked. Ugh.

The upside is that I had thawed 2 petit filet mignons (have to completely empty the freezer by Dec. 11). So we had a lovely avocado, baked white sweet potatoes, and a filet mignon.

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Dmc, the stained glass is on yesterday's thread near the bottom, 2 pictures posted by Babs.
Tomato problems, yes, I had them too, lost a few plants that were right next to the healthy ones. Also, something was making my potatoes sick. I'll plant those types on the other side of the garden next year. I try to move things every year, but this year planted tomatoes and spuds where I had them the year before, had them planted and some of them looking sick before I thought about it. I'll have to look up blight and see if that's what got them.

Hello all, have been reading, but decided that I had to see what was going on.

Mary E, cleaning, and you need to drink more tea, so you can be on here longer. I always rotate my crops, because I usually forget where every thing was the year before. Seriously, I do make a map and try to rotate everything.

Julie, you slept until when. I would think that the world had come to an end if I did that. I laughed about the comment "chewing a new rubber band". Is that really the texture of the cheese?

Babs, those sure are cute puppies. Go to get one and end up with two, sounds like something I would do, if it were not for DH!! And your comment about BIL patience, a preacher we once had said that a woman prayed for patience and the Lord gave her 10 kids. So I never ever pray for patience!!

Happy, I m so jealous, you are spending time with Molly, can I come paint too?

ViolaAnn, when I travel, if it isn't necessary, it don't get to take the trip. Never have had luggage lost, but could probably survive, as I pack a carry on with all meds, extra change of clothes, and essentials. Have had some bad airport experiences, but thankfully no lost luggage.

Babs, thanks for the funny story.

Sarv, I hate to help DH do anything, if something goes wrong, It turns out to be my fault. Never seen someone so reluctant to accept blame.

Meezer, I painted my "great room" 2 years ago. Had an 8 ft ladder, and a roller on a long handle, still had to stretch to reach the very top. The only help DH provided was standing safely on the floor, saying, you missed a spot.

dmc, STORPORMARKET, I love it. That is the one job that I just hate!! GRRR and I have to shop for me, DM, and DMIL. Mother said last week, I had some things that weren't on my list, and I reply, Santa came early, use it!!

Woodspirit, so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well after the shot. Hope you are better especially for the holidays.

Susieq, why do we all think that we have to clean for the holidays/company. Wouldn't it make more sense to clean after the company goes home. Then would only have to do it once.

Darius, it is after 11pm, and you are making me hungry by telling me about that meal. Sorry about your water problems. Hope you are not up all night. Is it still raining?

Well folks, I had such grand plans about getting outside this afternoon and finishing some clean up. Didn't happen, and tomorrow the weather forecast doesn't sound like it will be favorable to do it either. Can you all say, pulling spent hostas next spring? Or pulling them wearing winter coat, gloves and hat.

Well, I am off to bed, didn't sleep well last night, so will try to start another streak of restful sleep. Sarv, how is your arm doing after all the painting? I don't know of anything I did to cause mine to hurt again, but it sure did last night.

Well good night everybody, plan on having pancakes for breakfast in the moring. Put the griddle on for me if you are up before I am.

Goodnight, Gracie....

Evening All,

Wow, lots to catch up on. I read through entire thread and have no idea what I read when I got to the last post,,,LOL So, all I will say is I hope everyone had a great day.

Found out today I definitely have Moderate - Severe Sleep Apnea. Dr said I have problems breathing 50 times for 10 seconds each in a 1 hour period. Wonder how long it's been since I actually slept well? No wonder I'm a basket case LOL. Can't Wait to get that machine and get back to *normal*.

Well, off to bed, will check in tomorrow morning.

D.cat...the "chewing on a rubberband" is a description I've heard people who don't like fresh cheese curd use. LOL It's not *my* opinion...I *love* the squeak!

Hello to everyone!

Ah cwap!

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Okay, you all laugh at me. But right now it is 52 outside and I am in flannel jammies, thick socks and a blanket. I dont do cold. I have always been cold when others aren't, and once I am cold it takes forever for me to warm up. I wear a jacket once the weather here gets below 60. But I also can walk outside in jeans and a tshirt in 120 and not look like a drowned rat from sweat either.
So if I intend on getting any kind of animals, I am going to need a thick jacket just in case I am out in the middle of the night for some reason.

Babs, glad to hear DH made it safely. I hope he enjoys his Thanksgiving. I know he is one of the many people I am thankful for allowing me to have this day.

Meezer, did I tell you that you are the greatest in the dmail? If not you are...

Woodspirit, I can't take the flu shot. I tried three years in a row at the demand of my doctor until they discovered I am allergic to the chemical base that starts the reaction for it to be an innoculant.

GG,good luck with the bipap. It was wonderful for both mom and dad. Of course the rest of the family who didn't have a sleeping problem didn't get much sleep with the noise of the machine. LOL, hope DH is a sound sleeper.

Great wall painting DMC.

Hope all have a great night.......

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Casey, you have Dmail.

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Casey,

Thanks
They are going to have me use CPAP. Don't know the difference between the 2, just what Dr. said. I'm hoping the machine is fairly quiet. Bill already said,"Looks like your sleeping in the other room". Not me,,,MY house, he can sleep in the other room,,,LOL

Honestly can't wait to get it,,,,don't know when I had good sleep last. Sick of always being tired and all the other stuff apnea causes that I have been trying to fight.

Have a good day

Yeow, lack of sleep...we went out for chinese buffet last night and I had rootbeer...which I now suspect had caffeine in it because I was awake until 2 am. I'm going out again today to hit the shops and hope it will be as uncrowded as yesterday, because I'm going to try to do my whole list. I can't believe I'm so far behind on Xmas shopping this year, usually I'm done by Thanksgiving because I detest crowded malls

But first....you know how this goes, make the bed, empty the dishwasher, (from Sunday's dishes!!!), vacuum the carpets, major dust assault on the bedroom, wash the patio doors so I can put the cling-on snowflakes on them, then I'm free to carouse. Want to do it today if I can because tomorrow the weatherman is predicting the yuckies, and it will be busy with TG late shoppers,

What's on your wish list for Christmas? I must be among the very fortunate, because I can't think of a single thing I need or want. I might just ask the tribe to make a donation to the pets fund for Katrina instead of getting more things to dust, wear, or hide. LOL

DGS called this morning before leaving for classes and said they will have too much food and could I think of two more people they could invite.. I made a couple of suggestions but I think it's kind of late for that!! DS and DIL are going to her son's, don't know what my DD has planned, or her kids either for that matter, suggested he call the two ladies he used to live next door to, when he was just a sprout and who have always been very good to him. Otherwise, live with the leftovers. I better make a big pie....if I plan small there are sure to be extra people!! Found the neatest little pie pan at the Country Store yesterday, it's about 7 or 8 inches across and looks just right for two people to finish it off in one sitting. Leftover pie looks ok the second day but after that it's on the short list for the garbage can.

How can I make the bed? There are three cats sprawled all over it! They really like to snuggle into the down comforter when the bed is rumpled up, and I feel bad for disturbing them. Well, not all that bad when I consider how often they wake me up by stomping on me in the middle of the night. Or breathing in my face to let me know they need breakfast RIGHT NOW.

Time to get busy. I made DH a bagel for breakfast ....

Have a good day, I'll see you later when my feet need a break!

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

meezer,

Just reading your post makes me tired,,, You have way too much energy for me,,,,LOL,,,,maybe once I get my handy dandy new sleep machine I can get some ambition back,,,,can't wait. Then watch out,,,I'll be like a whirlwind,,,,I'll have so much energy,,,won't know what to do with it,,,,LOL

Good luck with your shopping,,,I haven't even thought about CS yet,,,still waiting for Oct. to get here.
Aw, how can you disturb those babies,,,even if they walk on you in the middle of the night? Bet they look just like little angels laying there. LOL

GG....which Oct are you waiting for????? what year are you talking about...hehehe

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

Happy,

This October,,,,I musta missed it cause here it is Nov. 22 already and in my mind, I'm still waiting for Oct.,,,,, time is going way to fast,,,But then if you knew my mind,,,,well, lets just say it's kinda scarry,,,LOL,,,,I've now taken to blaming Everything on the Sleep Apnea,,,ROFLOL

GG, sorry about the apnea, but glad you will have some help for it. I probably should have a study done too. Maybe when I get moved...

Central, WI(Zone 4a)

darius,

Thanks. It's a relief to know that I can get some help with some of the things I have been fighting. At least I'm hoping once I get the CPAP it will help. LOL.

If you think you may have it, definitely get a study done. ASAP. I know you are moving and all so it would take some time to be able to get it done. Hope things go well with the move.

Good Morning to all this bright and sunny day. It's realy cold here, 55.....WHERE'S MY SNOW SUIT WITH THE LEGGINGS????

My son has it and he says it helps. But he has also recently told me that he has stopped using it. He doesn't like the noise. I don't know if he will go back to it or not.

Good luck, Darius...if you think you need one, go for it..

Have a great day, and will check in later.

On we still on yesterday's thread? Where's Julie? What do we do.....oh no,,,,, the sky is falling....elhp,,,,,elhp......

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)
