Just got off the phone with MollyMc... she's en route to her new home with another load of plants, and the mattress off the sleep sofa so she will have a place to sleep for the 3+ days after she moves (Nov. 30) and before her "pod" with furniture gets delivered.
Coffee and...For Saturday, Nov 19, 2005
I am so happy for Molly....I give her a lot of credit...Don't know if I would be able to make it alone. Now ladies, don't trash me too bad for that comment.........
YEAH!!! MOLLY!!! You GO girl!!
Hap...I know exactly what you're saying. I've often wondered how I would it in today's world...and I cam eup empty handed. I honestly don't think I could.

Its amazing to me how much Molly has accomplished since her landlord gave her notice to move out. So much to do in such a short period of time. darius, are you going down there later to stay after she gets the furniture in?
I wonder if she has water yet; I think she said she had electricity. Oh, did the phone company finally admit that they were providing service out to her neighborhood and get her hooked up?
Gosh, she made me want to go down there and help.
Woodspirit/Betty: I'm going down Dec. 15, for the winter. Mollly's septic is in, and hopefully the elec pole will go in today or tomorrow, then the power co-op has to run lines and then the electrician has to come back to connect it. The well is unknown. It was scheduled for last week but she hasn't heard from them.
Telephone isn't in yet either.
My sister got here about 7 pm, so I'll be offline a lot for the next week.
I guess she's there to help you pack and move. I'm glad you will be down there for the winter and not dealing with unvented propane. Have a great Thanksgiving and winter..
Oh, forgot to add: my DG friend Gary who lives 45 miles away is a weather geek. He says we will get 3 to 5 feet of snow this week! (I hope he's wrong... we never get much snow except in a blizzard.) Seems to be from some combo of the cold front and moisture off the Atlantic.

ooooo darius,,,,,sure hope he's wrong,,,,,,we won't see you til spring thaw,,,
That's right, Kelly (it IS Kelly?)
I added the weather link to my post above.
Hi all...long time not talk! Been really crazy, busy at work and lazy bum at home. Been trying to catch up -LOL - not doing a very good job.
Yea to Molly and Darius - where are you and where are you going - please give it to me in a nutshell? Thank you very much!
I'm so happy, happy, happy.....I got a professional pet sitter today and we hit it off immediately - she even gave Tooie his meds with no problem - so I'm so relieved and ready for Christmas at MIL - AudreyJo's - and then vacation next year!
DH and I are discussing what brine we'll use for the Thanksgiving turkey this year. I found an apple cider one I think we're going to try. Then he'll be frying it (which I love cause it makes my day easier!) MIL and FIL are coming here for Thanksgiving - can't wait for that. In her new van - we'll new for her - a 2002 Dodge Caravan with 23000 miles on it! Her van's transmission died and she just happen to be in the right place at the right time....I'm jealous. My 97 Voyager just turned over 90,000. Stills run fine and I sure hate the thought of a car note. Putting that off as much as possible.
We went to Sam's earlier and I got a Thanksgiving Cactus - 8" pot covered with blooms - red and pink (think there's two plants in one pot!). Any advice for keeping it alive are welcome. I'll probably get a hanging pot for it......sure is purty!
Also got Rachel Ray's "365: No Repeats" cookbook. I've already found 6 recipes I'm going to try - she makes it so easy. That's just in chapter 1!
Well - better get back to grocery list...going shopping in the morning.
Nite all!
Marcia
my Dh mentioned the brine thing tonight.... never done it that way odd he said it tooo now you are hmmmm what is up with the brine???
Tomorrow's DAILY is UP in the PARKING LOT!

magoobu - see next thread....
darius,
Yes it is Kelly
Didn't know whether to post here or in tomorrow's thread, but hey it's still today, so here goes. I have read every post today, but have been so busy, that I haven't replied.
DR, just wanted to tell you how very handsome your sons are. You sure have a right to be proud. And to have one that shops with mother, and rings at that.
Woodspirit, so glad DD is doing well. I have found that reverse psychology works in this household. So update us on the greenhouse.
Sarv, let's see now, tuna sandwich for breakfast, and Wendy's for lunch, do you dare tell me what you had tonight? And the chocolate covered pretzels. I too hate the holidays.
dmc, can you elaborate on the removal of dog hair? So how many fur babies own you?
Darius, it's not the food here that is causing weight gain, as it is all calorie free. When next you talk with Molly, tell her that I would like to have her new phone number, please. And yes I hope your friend is wrong about the forecast.
Happy, I laughed about "big foot". It is not funny, but you will have all the mess gone, and can get to planting again. 18 for TG, I will stand by and administer CPR after the meal. You are right about the youngsters not knowing how to entertain properly. Tis a shame.
Magoobu, tablecloth and napkin ironing, about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Morningayle, the male gender sick sends shivers down my spine. I have often said if they were the child bearers, 1 per household would be the limit. And they wouldn't recover in time to send them to kindergarten!! I love that you told Jenna? the daddy was sick. Let her kill him with kindness.
Bal, it was so good that you freed the servants to help take care of the lawn. I am leaning more and more to plastic and paper myself. Yes, in all seriousness, we do have much to be thankful for.
Meezer, Thanks for the info on cowlick. I just told everyone today that I had "happy hair" it was waving at them. And you had better run out and get another heating pad, since DH took yours. This is a 3 pad house.
Susieq, hope you survived the evening without Hoof in Mouth disease. Are your eyes glazed over?
|Marie, I loved your comment on male species doing what they want. My Mr. B does that too. My sister is putting in an in ground fence, for her Yorkie.
Babs that was good advice to Ernie. As long as there is no blood or body fluids, he is doing a good job. I always tell my family, when I want some me time, if it is not on fire or there is no blood, don't bother me.
GardenGeek, you can't get sick with a free weekend looming. Suck it up and get on with the fun.
|This afternoon, a friend and former co-worker of DH called and wanted to go out to eat. We went to Tumbleweed, and had a very good meal. We lingered over coffee and talked, until the manager had been by 3 times to ask if we found eveything all right, we took his hint and left. I had a busy day, not much constructive accomplished, but busy non the less. I cooked a pork loin for tomorrow's dinner. Oh, I meant to tell all who are frying turkeys, please be careful, those turkey fryers are dangerous, if filled with too much oil. Our neighbor burned down his garage last year. Talk about a memorable TG. This year they are roasting in the oven in the traditional way.
101, where are you, and how are you feeling? Anybody else that I missed, I am sorry, but hi to all, and hope everyone has a good night.
I got a flu shot today. The first innoculation since I got a polio shot in 1955. I was amazed at how tiny the needle is and how little I felt it.
Darius, I think we could get a little of that snow but the way Accuweather read, I think most of it will move up the Appalachians and they will get the heavier snowfall further north.
I took a picture of the work on the greenhouse, but darned if the software to download the picture isn't so hard that it would take a long time studying it to learn how to do it. My spousal unit has figured out a way for himself though, so I'll get him to do it tomorrow
Omigosh! I did a long post and Something ate it. So I'm posting on Sunday. Poo!
