Sunday Nov 20th
Between 11 and 12 noon
I will be making a lamb filling for Pita bread and yes, it is kinda Greek as it has a LOT of garlic and the dip that goes on top is yogurt, cucumber, GARLIC, dill
The second pita sandwich is Chicken and it is more Thai in flavors, a lot of fresh ginger which makes it a bit hot plus coconut milk; it will be garnished with peanuts and toasted coconut.
Please post here if you plan on attending; I will be in CA about 2 weeks at our house there and would love to meet some CA gardeners.
1. TwinLakesChef ~ Arlene Marshall ~ Orange ~ some kind of sandwich
2. SoCal ~ Donna Brickman ~ Huntington Beach ~

4. George ~ George Devorak & Sue Daniel ~ Valinda ~ Apple Cake
5. Crystalspin ~ Elizabeth and little sis, Michael ~ Santa Ana ~ Tabouli

I'm too far away , but thank you-Rich
Sorry, guys
So quick a decision; didin't get all the info in. (:
Donna (SoCal) was busy on Sat so I made it for Sun so my best buddy could be there! Love ya Donna!
Might be good to post here what side dishes you are bringing. I will put it up in the first post.
I would love to come, but I have an art show on that date in Sacramento. Thanks for the invite. Hope to meet some other Cali gardeners soon.

I will definitely be there!!! Thanks for the invitation. Is this considered a "Roundup?"
lol...if so, I'll bring some roundup...!!!
Don't know what I'll bring yet foodwise...will let you know after I see what others are bringing... uh oh... you're a chef...I can't cook...this could be a problem!!!
Hi, Thank you for the invitation, but I have plans to attend a fashion show that afternoon. Have fun! :)
that's a sweet invite. thank you. i wish i'm in the area around that time.
Be sure to mapquest my address; There are two Meadowbrooks and mine is the short one that doesn't show up in mapbooks.
91 to Glassell South ; Left on Richland, go one block; Left on Meadowbrook . . . down at end of block on left hand corner.
Maybe that will help.
Oh no, I have plan that day. So sorry ( for myself). Have fun, and take lots of pictures.
Eliza
George Dvorak and Sue Daniel will be there.
I will bring an apple cake
George,
Will be great to meet you both
I am keeping a list in the first post of who is coming and what they are bringing.
I do have some purple iris there at Meadowbrook I could dig if anyone wants some. I may also have tropical hibiscus people could take cuttings from; I can't seem to get them started that way but some one else may have better luck.

Just received the invatation this AM and am not able to attend. But thanks anyhow.

How great! Will do everything possible to be there!
My "little" sister (she's 24) will be here visiting and I'd like to bring her along... if fact I'll get her to make some "specialty" for the potluck. I'll update with what that will be after I give her a chance to think about it -- her flight arrives this evening.
I have been "Seldom Seen" lately because I got a new computer-driven embroidery/sewing machine a month ago, and have been spending all free time learning to use it!
I'll be in touch!
~'spin!~
Real name, Elizabeth... it's not *really* a secret...Donna, George, Sue, and others (Scott? Michelle?) have all met me as such!
These are the recipes I am considering; I may make all of them or just one. And in a pinch I can always make loose meat sandwiches.
Curried Grilled Chicken Pitas (has lemon, curry powder, fresh ginger, cilanto, coconut milk in the marinadeA)
Spiced lamb in pitas (onon, mint, oregano, cumin cinnamon)

Great idea and thanks for the invite! Unfortunately, well at least for this, I'll be up in Washington state visiting relatives. Have fun y'all!

I am so sorry to have to decline... the Thanksgiving dinner at the nursing home is being celebrated that day where my step dad is, and I am helping out there that day. Thank you for the invite.
wishing you all the best.
Antoinette
Wish we could come, but I'm not so sure the Mother in Law would understand me putting my passion for plants above her visit...lol. Thank you so much for the invitation, and I hope all attendees will have a super time with perfect weather.
don
Sorry I can't make it but thanks for the invite.
Thank you so much for the kind responses; it was short notice but those of us who can be there will have a nice time. Sometimes small groups are best for getting acquainted.
There will be more in the future ( and maybe with more notice!)
Thanks for the invitation. I won't be able to be there either. Have a great time all!
Wow! DG get together in my town? I have no excuse not to go. Will be there with bells on my toes. Not sure what food and plants to bring yet. Will let you know by Friday.
Arlene,
You know I will be there, but thought I would post here anyway. I've been busy with my party preparations all week myself.
Sorry so many of our locals can't make it this time, but hope to meet up again next spring. Have you heard from naien (Scott) about coming? He came to the RU at Drdons.
I'll talk to you soon.
Donna
Arlene:
Hoping you will make either (or both) of the pita sandwiches, -- before I even read down to your main-course alternatives, Michelle had suggested we bring tabouli (wheat and parsley salad), and of course they go well together!
(Really, make anything you want, but put us down for tabouli.)
~'spin!~
Well I fly out in a few hours so I better go pack up. Will check in tonight when I get to OC.
Brr.... It is 12 degrees here . . . looking forward to your weather and CA gardening . . . my gardens in Iowa are asleep now.
Thanks for the invite; unfortunately DH has dialysis treatment that day due to Thanksgiving scheduling. Hope to meet some of you at another occasion.
Thank you for being so generous and kind. I can't make it to your get-together but I hope everyone enjoys themselves.
LOL. Quyen is my name and I think I'll bring fruits.
Sorry, I won’t be able to make it this time. Thanks for the invitation and please leave me on your list. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it next time.
Still working on it. Will keep you posted.
Hi
Got to the house about 8PM last night after flying most of the day. thank you for the kind responses of those who cannot attend; I am sure there will be more SoCal events and certainly with more notice!
Don't care much for the Santa Ana winds; hope they'll be gone by Sunday.
Please bring your own beverage; I can make a pot of coffee here and will have some bottles of iced tea. Since it is an adult party (no children present) you are also welcome to bring wine or beer.
Well, I better go get organized; have a couple of patients to treat today as well as some grocery shopping.
a
deleted old cell phone number; I have now been cell phone free for 2 years!
