Medication for joint pain...

Northwest, OH(Zone 5b)

Has anyone used Synotrex? It has great reviews and happens to be one of the cheapest as well. I was just wondering if anyone had had any experience with it?

Take cod liver oil; it works great for joint pain, better than some meds. It might take a couple of months to really take hold but it works and it has many other health benefits too. We use a brand called Carlson's Lemon flavored Cod Liver Oil. We take a soup spoonful every night. It doesn't taste fishy just oily lemon. Vitacost.com has it for the most reasonable I have seen anywhere. Good Health to you.

The product you asked about contains:

Glucosamine Sulphate, White Willow Bark Extract (natural aspirin source), Vitamins A, C, and E, Biocell Collagen II, Hyaluronic Acid, Chondroitin Sulphate, MSM, Ginger, SAM-e, Ginger Root(helps circulation), Calcium (useless without magnesium and vitamin D), Turmeric, and Cetyl Myristoleate

Most of these supplements should be helpful... cetyl myristoleate is IN the cod liver oil that Lenjo suggests... gingers help circulation... msm is said to help with pain, SAM-e also...

it will be long term and subtle but you may get some relief from taking this supplement...

I was planning on taking my multi-vitamin with it, which contain Vit D and magnesium.

Here is where I found comparative info... http://www.productwatch.net/catalog/PW/consumer_products/joint_health/index.html

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

Yep, it is like taking cod liver oil, sarv, but you get a more potent dose but just taking the straight oil. I have noticed the same thing about my skin.

Or you can just rub Castor Oil on the painful joints and it will help to remove the stiffness and pain very quickly. I learned about it from a friend who read it in the Dr. Gott column of our local newpaper. I was very skeptical and got some just so I could tell her that it didn't work. But it did. Castor Oil is getting very hard to find in this area.

I was diagnosed with degenerative joint disease (knees) several years ago. The orthopedist said I would need knee replacements when I got older.

A friend told me that she started taking Juice Plus and all her knee pain disappeared. I decided it was worth a try, and within a month, I had no more knee pain. I've been taking it now for over 2 years and am just thoroughly amazed. I can still hear the bones clicking when I bend my legs, but there is no pain.

Juice Plus is capsules of dried organic juice - and you get the equivalent of at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.

If anyone is interested, do a google search and find a source that sells it. You order a 4 month supply on a credit card and each month, about $43 is charged to your card. It is WELL worth it.

If you can't find it, let me know.

That's amazing, Lois! Good for you. : )

My podiatrist gave me samples of Bio-freeze. The active ingredients are camphor, menthol and Ilex paraguayensis, which I grow. I. paraguayensis is also called Jesuit Tea, Yerba Mate' or Paraguay Holly. Yerba is Spanish for 'herb'. Mate' is an adaptation of the South American word 'mati' for 'gourd'. The cups are made from gourds.
Glucosamine (Chicken feet) are free at the Arab poultry stores in the Detroit area. Isn't chondroitin shrimp shells?
Powered turmeric (Curcuma) is usually under $5 for 14 ounces at Indian and Paki grocers. Mango ginger (also Curcuma) is supposed to have a very pretty flower, but I haven't been able to start it.

Granny, you have email.....

Yes, Darius, it still amazes me - the arthritis in my fingers has disappeared, too. I wish it didn't cost so much, but I consider it part of my grocery budget.

Weeds, you have mail.

Oh...the fingers...my thumb is so bad might have to have operation which I am inclined not to do but since the thumb distinguishes us from the other animals i might have to reconsider!

Yes, those "opposable thumbs" are indispensible!

You know............I hate to get too excited, and I know it's not supposed to work quite this fast, but I do *think* that the Synotrex is working!!! I've been taking it for two weeks now, faithfully, three times a day as directed, and I don't have NEAR the joint pain I was having, even upon waking in the morning!

It has a 92% satisfaction rate amongst its users, and I think I'm discovering why! I KNOW it isn't psychological, either. Pain is painful. LOL.
