How sweet you have a beautiful baby! My baby is also a lab mix but with what I dont know. She is a Rita storm rescue so I didnt ask many questions
I have to go get all her shots and everything Monday maybe she can give me an Idea. She looks just like our other full blood lab so all be happy either way. We just like the temperment of a lab they are great with my kids. I have a pic in my camera but for some reason they wont download. Maybe next time. well

Whats the Poop on Rabbit poop?
Bunnies don't mind the cold as long as they have a dry cage out of the wind. They cannot tolerate wind, and dampness will give them pneumonia, but cold doesn't bother them. Heat is worse. Be sure if you get a bunny, to locate their cage where they are shaded in the summer so they don't get heatstroke(overheating can kill in a matter of minutes).
The bigger the bunny, the bigger the cage you will need. For an average size bunny a 3 x 3 or 3 x 4 cage is sufficient. A wire bottom cage is best. If the floor is solid, the urine will burn their feet and they will have sore hocks. Set the cage up on blocks or make legs for it so the poo can fall thru the floor and pile up on the ground.
Bunnies are a bit smelly if kept in a cage in the house. If allowed free run of the house, they chew on everything, especially electrical wires and phone cords.
The American Rabbit Breeders Assoc(ARBA) has a website with information.
Our lab mix is just like a lab too, except she hates to swim. She tries to walk on top of the water. Or, maybe that's just because she thinks so highly of herself??? LOL
From what I read about bunnies everything said they shouldn't have a wire bottom cage because it'll hurt their feet? It also said they should be kept indoors. If I were to get a bunny I would probably get one from a rescue and they require you to keep them indoors. I think right now it would just get to be too much of a hassle. Not that I still wouldn't love to have one or two.
We usually have quite a few wild bunnies in the spring and summer around here. I'll just have to keep a look out for where they feed and try to get a good idea of where their droppings are, if that's possible. This may sound gross to some, but I do know that bunnies poop out pellets that have to be eaten, by both the adults and babies if they happen to have any. It's very important if you're collecting wild bunny dropping that you don't collect anything other than poo. Just thought I'd mention that.
Oh WHAT have I been missing...rabbit pooh...wow why didn't I think of that sooner,I am a great recycler LOL.
Our daughter in Boston has 2 pet rabbits for the children and we just visited twice recently and I could have brought some back :-)

Heathrjoy, Am I understanding you right? they eat each others poo???
Ewoooo!
It's not actually poo, it just comes from the same place. LOL If the bunnies don't eat it then full digestion won't take place. This is what I read on the net.
We once took in a wounded baby bunny. What an ordeal that was. Don't ever do that unless you know what you're getting into. The babies have to eat the poo-less poo from the mother to have their proper immunities and nothing can take it's place. If I remember correctly, they only do that once or twice.
I don't think they eat each others. YUCK. I hope they don't, cuz if they do, then bunnies aren't cute anymore! LOL
I would assume that what they needed to re-digest would be gone by the time you found the droppings, unless you scared the bunny away in the act. I just wanted to mention it. I know how us gardeners can be, LOL, and I didn't want any of us unintentionally hurting any bunnies. Chasing down bunnies to get their poo before their healthy act is done! I didn't mean to gross anyone out, sorry if I did.
Heather
LOL!!! You are such a hoot! Chase the bunnys down HA!
As for eating for immunities I have heard of that before in other animals. Love the Animal channel! Bunnys are still cute in opnion poo eaters or not!

Here is a link that explains "bunny digestion" in easy terms. http://www.hopperhome.com/rabbit_digestion.htm
Thank you Calla. I'm glad I didn't gross anyone out! There's been a lot going around about poo on the boards lately. he he he
Heathrjoy, you didn't gross me out. I used to show rabbits and was a 4-H leader for several years.
Susie cooks with things worse than rabbit doo.
Hey, don't be tellin all my secrets Kell. You should see the size of the grub worms down here, big as shrimps!
Grub worm scampi. mmm mmm good! LOL! This is why I have not come to visit you yet, Susie. I just know you would try to feed me something unspeakable and I would probably believe what ever tale you were telling and eat it.
I promise not to cook if you come visit(unless you want BBQ gator). We can go out to eat, there is even a real Japanese sushi place here.
Grub worm scampi, BBQ Gator???? Oh my! Sounds interesting, but I just lost my appetite for some reason.
Heathr, they taste like chicken.
Well with an offer like that, how can I resist? LOL. And I may let you cook gator tail for me.
mmmmmmmm, my fav!
LOL Calla!!
Gator is yummy! Its like a cross between fish and chicken to me. Texture of fish taste like chicken.
When I first go here from southern CA I had a pretty opend mind to the odd food choices here. Most things are deep fired (not my favorite) so I didnt ask questions about what I was eating. I went to a relative of my husband's house and they were frying what looked to be fish or chicken nuggets no such luck! Turns out it was squirrel battered up and fried. I must have eaten two or three pieces before my husband said Gosh I didnt know you liked squirrel? Oh my gosh! I wanted to die! those poor little critters. Their friends were all up in the trees looking at poor Chip and Dale all golden brown. I don't know which of them I ate but I do make it a point now to ask what it is that I am eating.
You wouldn't happen to be a supplier for Fear Factor, now would you?
Gator BBQ....no thank you..but I'll take a gator skin handbag :-)..oh yes and shoes to match ....LOL
I don't think I could eat gator and I know I couldn't eat squirrel.
Deep fried dill pickles are delicious tho. Also they don't have cousins that sit in the trees and watch you eat them, waving goodbye to them! LOL
My ds lives in TX so I've heard some stories, but she keeps most of it away from me when we visit, thank God!!
are'nt you hte lucky one! LOL
Eglantyne, I've been watching those gators and I don't think any of them carry handbags. I couldn't tell if they had shoes, they wouldn't get out of the water.
Oh, sheesh, I thought this thread had died!
Calalily,
You are so FUNNY :-)) ....I am still giggling
I want a bunny!
I want a bunny!!
I want a bunny!!!
HMMM - more accurately, I want bunny poo!! ~ Suzi :)
BriarRose, come to south TX, I will take you to Mr Miller's farm and you can have all you want!
You might want to contact your local 4-H or FFA office to see if any kids in your area have show rabbits and want to get rid of the poo.
Susie, you can start a mail order poo business.
I'll be the queen of poo, aka: Queen Poo, LOL That is a good idea. Will have to figure out who/where to call.
Hi there, my name is Suzi and I have an addiction to rabbit poo... LOL Don't worry, I really only want it to feed my tomato addiction... That reminds me, gotta get ahold of Donna one day soon... she has 3 horses! Yikes! Just got to protect the neighbors from the smell ~ Suzi :)
