Hahahaha it doesn't bother me! Y'all just keep typing! LOL ;)

Ewwwwwwww is right!! Yucky....shiver!!! Remind me not to do anything that gets me into that kind of situation...ok? LOL
~julie~
Elaine...I was wondering about that. LOL
~julie~
Anyone remember me?
Hap
Sure Hap, where 'ya been ? Did you know the latest pasta gimmick is lasagna that doesn't need to be boiled first ? I'm trying it tonight, but the recipe isn't very impressive. The cheese/egg mix is too dry for my taste, but we'll see what happens in an hour or so when it comes out of the oven.
Sitting here right now eating cauliflower with cheese sauce. Oh did I mention DW picked it out of the garden 1½ hour ago. Amazing for MN in what should be winter. High temperature records set all around the state today. I think the high one was 72º.
Bernie
Does any one still cook the lasagna first? Ready without cooking has been around for quite a while, Robert. I make one with just vegetables, it is the best. If you are talking about mozzarela being too dry mix it with tomatoe sauce first and top each layer with parmesan also. Vegetables are first sauted, such as broccoli, onions, spinach, mushrooms, etc .this is a good recipe if one has a vegetable garden or just buy them.
HI, Hap, how are you? tell us more?
WOWWEE!!!
I go and leave you all for a bit and you all turn it typing queens.
No I still haven't found my papers, but the inside of the filing cabinets are clean. And yes I do mean that I wiped down the inside of the drawers. The entire computer/office room is spotless and I still can't find my papers. The last time I remember seeing them was when I needed to show proof of my given name when burying my father in the Veterans cemetery. I remember putting the papers back in the file because I stood there and filed a bit of other things that I had let go for the weeks before his death. The strange thing is the entire file folder is missing. I never have needed to take the entire folder including the hanging folder out of the cabinet.
DH called our accountant and let him know, and he is going to do a search to make sure that if they were stolen that I still have a name I want to be connected too. What a mess....
Well DH has dinner ready so I will see ya all later...
Casey
Okay confused here. Why would you cook the noodles first, they would be all poofy and hard to handle when you assembled the lasagna layers, and if you use only a little bit of flour when rolling and cutting it helps make the sauce a bit thicker and helps it hold together, and how can mozzarela cheese be dry when it is held and stored in water?
I really feel about as dumb as they come right now...
I tried the no cook lasagna noodles just once. That should tell you something! Been running around all day like a headless chicken, and didn't accomplish much at all!! Did have lunch....LOL
Weather is so unusual. I think we'll be doing a lot of yard clean up this weekend. DH is taking off the whole week of Thanksgiving. I hope he didn't invite his brother up here, because I'm not planning on cooking.
Sarv, I'd wait until Monday and call your MIL and tell her you aren't available for chauffeur duty, and she should call one of her own kids (not your DH) and have them take her. Of course she was pleasant today, she wanted something from you.
I told you that I went to a luncheon for company retirees last Tuesday....another couple picked up my friend, so I didn't have to. She and her husband have been very good about picking her up for various things, as they live much closer to her than I do. The whole way there she was complaining about being late, and the other friend's DH was navigating through a huge reconstruction area in one of our major interchanges, and then got stuck waiting for a train to go through.
Still, she kept complaining, and when he finally had enough, he turned to her and said, "Next time you can take the bus and then maybe you'll get there on time". If I had picked her up it would have been even later, because I stopped at a jewelers to pick up her ID bracelet she had there for repair. I guess people forget that you are going out of your way for them, after a while, and just expect it.
Maria,I'm happy to hear that Samson is doing very well with his training. Howard goes to his new home tomorrow. Boy, will those cats be surprised. DIL said Max is still walking around making little meep noises, but they are no longer hissing at each other all the time.
Gayle I hope your treatment relieves the pain, it's so uncomfortable when you can't even sit and then to be deprived of your computer time just makes it all that much worse.
Hi Hap! Wonder where you wandered off to.. and where's Darius? On the final lap to home, I would venture to guess. She'll be exhausted, but she got to visit some friends along the way which I'm sure she enjoyed.
Ugh, if I run into my ex in the hereafter, I'm going somewhere else.
Carat, did you get those papers out when you were buying the house out east? Are they mixed in with your loan papers? I hate putting things in a safe place where I'll never see them again! Also check your other files to see if you doubled up on some. (You probably already did that.....)
We have all kinds of covenants and restrictions in this subdivision but there's no way they can be enforced as the "Architectural Control Committee" of which I am a member, has no leverage. Most of the time, when there is a subdivision going up that will have rules and regs. people have to make a deposit of some amount, and then if legal action needs to be taken, there is money to work with. However, our developer didn't do that, and we have no money to work with.
We have to beg each homeowner for enough money to mow a shared outlot with steep sides so asking for money to enforce a covenant wouldn't get off the ground. Most of those rules don't hold up in court anyway. People should be able to do what they want on their property as long as it isn't an eyesore. But then, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
Nite all, and for those of you I didnt mention specifically, I've read it all and wish everybody a super nice gardening weekend.

balvenie - I haven't used lasagna noodles that you have to boil for years. Don't actually make lasagna very often, but the ones that don't have to be boiled make the whole process MUCH easier. You DO have to have enough liquid in your sauce though.
Thought I would make a dent in my unused vacation leave today, but I ended the week with only two hours less than I'm supposed to, in spite of showing up at work several hours late today. Another BUSY day at the Food Cupboard. And my chief interviewer is in Vancouver visiting DH, DIL and granddaughter. Another interviewer was also out of town. When I showed up, a few minutes after the Food Cupboard closed this morning (11:30), there were still about 20 people waiting to be interviewed and given food. Another interviewer had to leave; so I ended up interviewing a number of people to help finish off before I could start looking at files. Another 55 or so families today and 24 referrals to Christmas Exchange.
It will probably remain very busy through next week. On the 20th of the month, people with children get a child tax credit cheque from the federal gov't (something that the provincial gov't claws back $ for $ from those who are on assistance. That means that the assistance cheque for people with kids sometimes doesn't cover the rent. ) We usually see a noticeable drop in the number of clients when those cehques come out because it is really what a lot of the people we help are living on.
And just before 6 as I was winding up things for the day, the FC's mouse came running into the office. There'd been a few sightings of it during the past week but I'm not sure the volunteer who saw it believed me when I told her it was more scared of us than she was of it. LOL Anyway, I closed the office door, grabbed the trap that was in the front, put it under my desk, and added some cheese to it. I think the mouse is locked in the office, but... the building is old. There may be escape holes somewhere. We'll see if we catch him this weekend. A mouse would be in heaven there with the number of booxes of edible things we have around. In 17 years at that place, we've only seen mice on 3 or 4 occasions, but with the back door open often and fields nearby, it's not surprising to see them occasionally at this time of year.
Gotta go practice. Yuck. Daphnis and Chloe is miserably difficult and doesn't turn me on.
Ann
Meezer, dont see any difference in cooked or non-cooked lasanga
except it is so much easier as Ann said, Samson is getting much better, however when some one comes to the door he is still uncontrolable, he wears me out but I love him and he knows it, the rascal. He jumped all over my daughter when she dropped in, let me tell you she did not like it, she even smacked him, told her not to do that again, sheesh.
Ann, I don't know where you get all that energy? Must be the wheaties LOL
Meezer, I have never needed to show my birth cerificate, marriage license, legal name change to purchase a home, and this (SC property) will be the 7th home we have purchased..
I am sure that they will show up, I am just a paranoid person and have been imagining the worse with all the problems with identity theft nowadays...
Magoobu, yes I do know how good it feels to really be able to get that clean you strive for. A natural high. My computer room is that way now. Kinda hate allowing DH and DS in there. I even cleaned the carpets and repainted the blades on the ceiling fan to a pure white.
Oh I think I have gotten myself into a mess here!
On dave's I think..... I suppported and spoke out for Knotimpaired and think everyone is getting very angry with me!
I do not watch ALL the threads so has anyone else seen behavior odd pertaining to recent threads?
I do so love Knot and wish her all the best but feel i may have overstepped things in not knowing all that is going on here.
Gosh I did not know that with so many threads you could get so lost without being in touch with all of them that you may not know what is really going on. I feel so rog in so man ways and not sure why.
Thought everyone here were friends and never thought anything else.
OK I probably over stepped again I feel so bad....
Anne
The lasagna was pretty good. I've never looked for any noodles other than the boiling type so this was new to me. It was about the same in the end, though not as soft as the old type.
Carat, I can share your frustration. Many times I've put things away and never remembered where they were, happens too often.
Meezer, we have lots of covenants on the cabin, as well as a Board of Trustees that delights in making new "regulations" whenever it suits their purposes. A real pain in the neck.
Spirit, your greenhouse is looking really good. Wish I could send you one of my routers, have 5 now. Each does a different job.(except for the 2 Sears ones that are junk)
Maria, so glad Samson is treasure, the Trainer can break him of his bad habits in no time.
Time to go out and whittle some more. Have a swell night everyone.
Well, everything I just posted went poof again! Honestly ... it really makes me mad sometimes.
magoobu, I have no idea what you're talking about, but try not to worry about it. If there's someone you like and you have an opinion about something ... it's okay for you to voice it as long as it's in a kind way. Then the best thing to do is probably just leave things alone. :) If you meant no harm ... then everything will work out.
Hugs to you ... K?
Elaine
Anne, don't know what you are trying to tell us?
I am not sure as to what you are talking about Magoobu, but I think everyone has a right to their opinion and so long as you are not hurtful in stating it, you should be able to do so.
So many people on this site come from such a large variety of backgrounds that what some hold dear, others dismiss. So sometimes its best not to get so involved on the threads but leave the more personal comments and arguements to private Dmails as to not offend someone, and they in turn should have the same respect.
So if you feel your friend needed to be defended then so be it. But be sure you clarify that you are defending your friend not her beliefs or her statements unless they are your beliefs also.
This is a great forum and I cant see anyone that I have met here meaning to be hateful intentionally.
hugs to you Magoo
lO1
Thank you!
Just having a hard time here with trusting one or another!
I have loyalties to those I hold dear and that is terribly storng when it comes to Knotimpaired. And all of you here in Coffee!!!!
So sad here now wondering why things have gone so wrong.
Anne
thak you Carat!
Sorry Maria I know it sounds confusing--- I have a wonderful friendship with Knot and want to continue that. Some things she may have requested via Dave's may have been odd to some so she has run into some troubles here.
I am just torn --- I truly just want to keep the peace with all.
Maria i need a kiss from Samson!!! Give me a sweet picture of him he makes my day!!!
Anne
I will send some pictures soon, right now they only would be repetitous.
Just do not worry so much , am certain you meant know harm t any one. So put it out of your mind.
Magoobu, don't fret, tell us where the post is , and we can read it and give you our honest opinion. It probably is nothing, but let us help you.
Balvanie, the no cook noodles are a staple in this house. The first ones I bought, I thought, yeah, I will be eating crunchy noodles, with tomato sauce and cheese. But it is so much easier, and the small differences are just that. I will compromise taste/texture anytime I can save some time.
Woodspirit, the progress may be slow now, but think of all the joy you will have using that greenhouse.
Viola Ann, you just wear me out with all you do. What are you going to do when you retire, be a permanent fixture on DG? Would love to have you 24/7, but duties will call. Don't know now how I had time to work, stay so busy with something all the time.
101, don't you just hate it when you type a post, and then it goes to cyber heaven? Have done that many times, and it is so irritating. So Darius, blew in and out, no time to eat anything, I guess she is like a horse, on the way back to the barn!! Always go faster on the return trip.
So Hap, tell us where you have been, missed seeing your posts, but thought nothing of it.
Sarv, can you stuff a sock in MIL's mouth. Hate those people who run hot then cold. Have a member of this family who is so friendly sometimes, then will hardly speak the next time you see them. I am what I am, if I like you fine, If I don't you will not need to ask if I do. I try to be the same at all times.
Meezer, have a neighbor like your friend. She asks if you will take her to the grocery, and before you know it you have driven 50 miles and made 20 stops for her. Never says "thank you" or offers to pay for the gas. SInce caller ID, it is so much easier. When I see the name, I either ignore it or let DH answer. Has really cut down on my chauffer time.
Country Gardens, how I envy you, we tried cauliflower this year, and it didn't do well. Can almost taste the cauliflower with cheese sauce, yum.
Maria, hang in there with Samson. Please mention to your trainer his behavior with visitors. I'm sure there is a fix for that. My Mr. B, sniffs some, but with those he knows like him, will jump in their lap and give doggie kisses.
Well, fixed the sauerkraut and hot dogs for supper, and they were a hit with DGD. Played hangman with her for about an hour. She helped me draw all the designs on the flower pots, getting ready for the mosaic. Told her that maybe tomorrow afternoon, we would start on one. She brought her school pictures this weekend, and they are really good. Has them all labeled about who they go to. Have 2 craft affairs to attend tomorrow. A good friend is having her own at her home, and will go for a bit. Then the county where I live has an artist's guild, and are having a Christmas show and sale. This is usually a good event. No cheap stuff. Hand made wind chimes, painted gourds, and various Christmas decorations. I usually am able to purchase some gifts there. Our weather here is cool tonight, but just heard on the news that the high will be 72 tomorrow. Still have some things I need to do outdoors, will try to squeeze that into an already full day. We always go out to eat on Saturday night, just because DGD loves to do that. (Mamaw likes it because she doesn't have to cook!!) Well, I am going to bed. My record is still intact. Have been sleeping well for the past 2 weeks or so. May awaken during the night, but always back to sleep. Come to think of it, I had some weird dreams last night, but enjoy the entertainment.
Night to all.
Jasmeer, back away from the * key, and nobody will get hurt. Didn't realize that punctuation would cause such problems.
Hi, Gang... I am actually home although I didn't intend to be here until tomorrow. Couldn't find a motel (BIG college football game tomorrow) so I just kept driving. Guess I was just being a donkey's patootie!
The pile of mail (and non-perishables in the truck) will wait until tomorrow, and the heat in the apartment is gradually coming back up to livable!
Hey Darius, did you get your present???
Glad you made it home safely and you are able to sleep in your own bed tonight... It makes all the difference in the night...
LOL, hit the button before I was ready. Not thinking to clearly here.

Darius, Wow, you made that fast. Glad you returned safely. Will be thinking of you tomorrow at the roundup.
Sorry you couldn't stay for it.
Molly
:^)))
Oh Darius lots of work ahead! Please take care do not over do it!
Hard to post anything of which I have referred too since it has been deleted but might i thank all of you for your support ---- you are all a truly wonderful group that i am so happy to be apart of!!
even if I have to try to speed read through half of the posts to keep up!!!
Gobette here --- Anne
Casey, LOL. I actually DID open the 2 packages in the mail since I posted above, a cutting, and yours.
At first I was curious as to WHY the O2 backpack had a canister in it until I actually opened it!!!!
You are too funny, and the bottle of wine will be both appreciated, and remind me of you, and a glass of wine in Chat!
Welcome back to Darius.
How is the cut on your foot healing?
Do enjoy that glass of wine.
Gotta got to bed. Good night all.
Ann
I am glad, you said that Reisling is not an easily accessable thing there. So I picked out one of my favorites for you. Enjoy
Thanks Casey. I live in a dry county so NOTHING is easily accessible! I think I shall save it for Thanksgiving dinner.
Ann, the foot has healed nicely. Thanks for asking.
Maria, when I get through all the travelling relative to moving, I may just have to visit and meet Samson!
Hi Darius. Glad to see you made it home safely. Thanks sooo much for the cuttings. I hope they survive ME!
Defoecat, when I read your post, I got a good laugh as I have my punctuation turned off so I don't have to hear all the "periods, commas, and such read aloud. It sounded at first like you said ...
hears a portion of your last post.
Remember, read it without the comma. LOL
My Mr. B, sniffs some, but ith those he knows like him, will jump in their lap and give doggie kisses.
:)
... Elaine
Welcome Home Darius!!!

See ya tomorrow...Night all!
~julie~
magoobu don't get too wound up, if a thread gets contentious Dave deletes all reference to the stroppy bits, it doesn't mean it was what you said that caused the problem, just that it was part of a not wanted topic.
Most of us put our foot in it occasionally, but I haven't met anyone with malicious intent yet on Daves. Clumsy yes, and that includes me, it easy to offend without realising what you have said may upset people from a different background.
Maria I'm going to have to come and have a cuddle with your Samson. He just loves people and that is a good point. He is still only a puppy even if he doesn't look like it! Like all kids he gets over excited when he's happy, he will learn to control himself quite quickly, far faster than a human kid would.
Glad you made it safely Darius, bet you sleep late tomorrow after all that driving.
Carat I hope those docs turn up soon, I bet you just misplaced the folder - inside another folder perhaps? I get so cross when I lose things, why are they are always in the last place you look?
I have been reading but not much else for a while - still got this drated bug thats spreading through cyberspace. If they hadn't finished years ago, I'd have sworn I was having hot flashes again today. Thought I felt better so went shopping - half way round the store I thought i was going to melt!
Hugs to everyone - I know I've missed half of you at least, not intentional just can't keep up!
Carol
