I finally won a nice plant

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

One of our local nurseries, puts out a weekly newsletter through my email. They always have lots of great information on new plants arriving, plant problems and recipes from your garden, etc. They also have a Trivia question of the week. I have anwered many of their questions, but always too late. lol

I just got notified that I won last weeks question. yippee!! Here was the question:

Last Week's Question: Most people think of butterflies, bees and hummingbirds when they think of plant pollinators. But these are mostly day creatures. Can you name the two most common pollinators of night-blooming flowers? (Looking for general groups here - like 'bees' - not specific species.)

The winner: Donna Brickman wins a hanging basket ($17.99) of her choice. (And we have some beautiful new ones!)

The answer: Moths and bats

I will be going to the nursery in the next few days to see what catches my fancy. I will post a picture of it then. I am so excited, as I've never won a trivia question in my life. lol

Here is the question for this week, but I'm not eligible to win...you can only win once per month.

This Week's Question: Advertisements for coffee in London in 1657 claimed that the beverage was a cure for what?

This Week's Prize: a 5 gallon rose bush of the winner's choice (now on sale at $14.99)

Anyone know the answer to this question?

How cool is that?!?! I never win anything! Oh, I did win a DG coffee mug. LOL When I was in school, someone brought in a big box of stuff for me and said it was my prize. I was thrilled to death to have won something. When I asked what the contest was, it was from selling the most goodies for International Club. I had to work for that prize....LOL

I haven't had a chance to get to the nursery yet. It is about 20 miles from me. I know I said it was a local nursery, just not that close. haha I can't go today, but hopefully tomorrow.

Want to know what DH said when I told him? You'll spend $10 in gas to get an $18 plant....yup, and maybe I'll find something else to buy while I'm there. lol

Boy, Donna, I think your DH and mine would do great together. That is exactly what Leonard would say.

I would say you'd spend $10 in gas to pick up the free $18 plant and probably spend another $50 cuz you were already there. ROTFLOL
