Here Rob has yours and mine and Lorry's for sale . :))
http://www.robsviolet.com/alsobia.htm
Alsobias sorry I spell them wrong..
'Cygnet'. Large, frilly white blooms heavily speckled with tiny dots on throat. Very fancy. A very vigorous grower and early and constant bloomer. Larger than A. dianthiflora, but more floriferous. ( A. dianthiflora is one of the parents of A. Cygnet)
dianthiflora. Very highly recommended, even for novices. Small, lush, deep forest-green leaves and frilly white blooms. Extremely vigorous grower makes a great potted plant or hanging basket.
Now yours will grow full and plants from the middle plant if you take babies off as they grow ( put them in their own pots) then when the plant is large pot full then I like to let the babies grow down the sides forming plant and they will bloom also :))
Doing this you will get a nice basket full.

One of my Favorite Plants Training An Episcia 'Cygnet'
lorry gave me so many wonderful plants..and some are the micro ones...and my hands are so big...i fear i will break them..lol...so far so good...thanks again Lorry
You have a cygnet in there also Bob :)
And you are quite welcome.
My plant stands thank you also (Laugh)
Everyone was beginning to feel a bit crowded.
Are these better in hanging pots? Or should you clip the 'runners'? I am checking these out and love the blooms. I might order one from Bob's.
Boy..I better buy a bigger plant stand for my living room!
Anita, mine came in a 5" hanging planter and was really beautiful -so I guess that they can go either way. Mine came via eBay (a Florida seller) so it started it's life in a super environment. It's pretty dry here, but I just bought a cool mist humidifyer (for my playhouse) to help things a bit. I also keep a kettle on the wood stove in the liv. room to keep that room moist. It's funny, I finally put some AV's in the living room which I only ever allowed a syngonium and shefflera in there before because they could take the abuse and dry heat (and cats romping around in them) and the AV's are in self watering pots - after a week or so, they had already sucked up all the water. All three are happy and reblooming so I guess they like it! I feel a livingroom plant stand coming on...
And Ali, no, I haven't repotted any Chirita, just a few of the AV's that were so wet. I'm watching them like a hawk to not overwater. The chirita above was just slipped into the planter
It's good to cut the runners off , you can put them the crown part sucker baby in it's own pot to grow another plant. By cutting them off the plant will grow full in the pot. They are great in hanging baskets or not.
I have extras if you'd like one ! Allison
I would absolutely love one!!! Thank you so much! I don't have any to trade yet - I am trying to propogate with some leaves I have, but they are noids [pretty though]. I can send you postage/packaging? Let me know.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
Your welcome. Maybe we should wait until it's a tiny bit warmer . NY is pretty cold and they do like it warm.
I have other baby plants if your wanting any named ones too.
Allison
You are too kind - I agree on the weather - although we are being teased with 50's which I am sure will end soon. I am happy to adopt anything. Especially since I have the new light stand set up [which I did get for Christmas!] I'll have room and I can rotate them out. Just let me know how much money to send when you are ready to send them. I love making cards - if you send me some pics of your favorites, I can make up some note cards for you! It would make me feel better since I don't have anything to trade.
Anita
The reason I was wondering about your Chiritas as they grow in heavy soil in Nurserys.
And Chirita require a potting mis that is not heavy and not wet. They grow well in the same soil as African violets. They like it even lighter and adding extra perilite is a plus ! and helps keepthe soil-well-aerated and well-drained, especialy if you grow your plants on mats or wicks , or tend to over water. I find this true with my Streps also.Yjey soil was so heavy with mine I cut most of it off. I did it with my first one too now wished I took more off and potted it in a five inch pan
pot and it's 20 inches across. My other ones are in 4 inch pots .
I just love Chiritas :))
Allison
.
That's so sweet Anita I love cards !. Most Vendors won't send Epsica type plant only id it's 65 or warmer.
Maybe nevet month when I get caught up with shipping then I can send you a box out !
The streps like the same soil too, right? I got two from ebay and my one has a bud! Yippee. The other 'Captain Blood' is growing like crazy, but no buds yet. I think I might put them in self-watering containers so I won't accidentally over water. I am sure budding shouldn't take too much longer since they are in the same window and receive the same attention.
My Chirita is looking good too. It's still young, so I am not expecting any buds yet. Can't wait for some flowers to take pics and share with all of you!
By the way - does anyone put any charcoal in their soil mixes? I've heard this is good for the plant and acts as a filter.
Anita
Super Allison!! I'll D-mail you my regular email address - send me your pics so I can start working on them for you.
Anita
Coming in late on this conversation but wow, plants all look great, flowers beautiful! Allison, if you have enough please send me some of the yellow one! Oh my gosh that is beautiful!
Hey, Allison.... I use Trade Tracker & find it really useful! Without it, I'd have a hard time keeping track of the spring wish/trade lists I've been putting together with some of the folks on this forum.
If you're also going to put together a Trade List ( a different thing than using the Tracker), however, I would suggest that you mark your trade list entries "for trade only" so you're not overwhelmed with requests from people (nonpaying members and passers-through as well as subscribers) to send plants for postage. Some folks have stopped putting up trade lists at DG because unfortunately some people are really rude in the way they ask for things... well, they don't always even ask, they act like they're placing an order... So if you do a Trade List, remember that "Sorry, no" is a perfectly good answer. And you might end up having less hassle if you just post your "available" list here... in fact, if you post it as at least the second item as a thread, then I believe only subscribers will be able to read it.
I should add that I've traded with both members and subscribers, and I've posted a Trade List without having much trouble with it... but I figured I'd pass along some of what I'd read in the Trading forums, just so you were aware of potential issues. I hope nobody is offended by that, and I'm certainly not trying to start a fight (some of the threads on these topics have become heated).
Jill thanks for your help with this !!
Jill what is the difference between member and subscribers?
I really only want to trade/or send boxes out to people active in our African violet forum. Before when I posted if you have ten or less was for people to be able to be in the Secret Easter Bunny Swap. The boxes of plants I sent out were for people who only had noids that wanted to learn how to grow African violets, sign up for the trade.Part of growing African violets is sharing. Sharing not only plants but sharing
information, pictures, encouragement , sharing knowledge, experiments good and failures, asking questions and answering too....
The plants I want to share are for paying DG active in our African violet forum. I'm just a smaller growing, who like to grow by leaf and share hoping the people I share with will also learn to grow and enjoy growing by leaf in order that they may also someday share with others maybe someone who has no named plants.
I know I have sent out over a hundred plants sense Mid-November and just or more excited than the person getting them ! Each plant is newly wicked and in new pots, and in excellent condition. Lot's of them are extremely rare and all have been grown by me by leaf taking 6-12 months of care :))
That's what it's all about Sharing .
I have been working on a list, but so busy transplanting, watering, and sending large boxes out to DG African violet Forums members ..I have not finished.
I was thinking of Dmailing it to people I know are active and see posting all the time to give them first choice. Then posting it maybe in a second posting so only paid DG can see it but it would be for trade/or shipping for Active DG forum paid African violet members. Of course people I promise plants to I have saved them for just them. If I say this plant for Jill, Lorry, MsC it is saved for them. Many leaves give me several babies ! I share all my babies fair and square even if the leaf cost me $5.00 or the plant cost me $53.00 I share it.
I also was thinking to Dmail the list to active members of Av forum and after they choose what they want if any other African violet DG members Paid can request me to Dmail them the list.
I don't have a lot of plants..I keep a few favorites for myself. But I do enjoy growing babies by leaf ..this is how I get the extra babies to share. I don't have much room and I'm sure as long as I'm here on earth I'll be putting down leaves to share babies ! I hope this becomes addictive to others and others will want to share with others...
Yes Jill I agree with what you said
"So if you do a Trade List, remember that "Sorry, no" is a perfectly good answer. And you might end up having less hassle if you just post your "available" list here... in fact, if you post it as at least the second item as a thread, then I believe only subscribers will be able to read it. "
When I posted to help people with just noids in our AV forum who wanted to be in the secret swap who had ten or less named Av's I'd send them a box to help them out to be able to join in the swap was not an option it was why I was giving them out. Getting leaves and growing babies was also not an option so they'd have babies to share and leaves from the plants I sent them ! Plus extras for them selves and swap would also increase their collection ! Always a Win Win situation !
Then I got Dmails from people never once posted on the group wanting boxes of plants... That's when I with
drew my offer. Now I send them to people when I want and see the need . Or for trades. But again I'm not a big grower , just a simple person who enjoys growing by leaf, God Blessed me with many babies and I want to share them with Active Dg's forum members.
Anita which Chirita are you growing ? I just started growing them in Septmeber and just llove them !
April which Yellow's do you mean ?
I think I sent Golden Threads and Golden Spirit in your box. Any other yellows did you mean?
Ali, you wrote;

This is what got me hooked. I had about three or four HD noid varieties when Critter suggested I drop by the AV forums for a peek. I had my one leaf down, no ears and I was just tickled that it had rooted. I was in disbelief that you had your box of AV's for postage for the spring trade. I didn't believe that there was not a 'catch' - It was such a fine thing to do!
But look at what your generosity has done for me. I'm a full blown addict (and gratefully so!) Watching Ebay for Angel's Petticoats to come up so I can spend the big bucks! LOL. Drooling all over my keyboard at all the photos, staying up late to look at Violet Gallery or Rob's web sites to decide who I'm going to order when the shipping comes down. Trying to pick fun ones for the upcoming trades... and so on. It has been a bright light in my life to have found the forum, I love hearing from each person daily. Wondering if someone is ill when they don't post. I love checking on my leaves to see if there are roots yet. I just never had any idea that the world of AV's would be so cool.
I'm so glad I took a stroll over to the AV forum.I've only been hanging out here for about two months -feels like much longer. I can't wait for the two trades coming up. But even better, I can't wait to just trade in general. If only begonias grew so fast and prolifically.
Thanks for getting me started. It's all because of you! (and critter for sending me over here!! hehehe) {{ hug hug}}
Laurie I ditto everything you said ! I have a problem I just love all Av's . Each one I see I think I must grow it :))
I can't wait for our secret swaps too ! I want to send out super duper Special boxes :))
I'm so glad you strolled over. And I'm so Happy I somehow fount DG too !
Hugs to all of you. Allison
The foliage on your's is simular to mine C. Sinensis Hisako ! I bought mine for foliage too but it has blessed me with several long lasting blossoms.
I kept mine under lights and when it had lot's of buds put it in a wicker basket with no handle in natural light so I could see it better and enjoy. I just got t around September and have grown so many babies ! Mine has grown to a good 20 inches maybe more now.
So it takes a lot of room . I just love it ! I should have sent you one. As soon as you can please root me one we can trade. I have about our named on rooting now ! I am really getting hooked on them. Space Yikes !
Here are a few pictures I took in December with throw away April !

Anita, what does the tag say in the pot? It looks like 'Brennan's.... something could be another online source to put into our sticky's?
I guess what I'm saying is where did you purchase it? It's a beauty!
thanks.
I have to agree with Begonia- I was looking only to see what was new in AVs- boy was I suprised to see that there was so much more than the NOIDs @ HD, Kroger and Lowe's! I asked a few questions - possibly dumb questions, but everybody answered and nobody actually said that my questions (or me) were dumb! In fact everybody was very kind and after a few posts I felt like I was being treated like an old friend. I too am addicted- and I am not ashamed! Everybody has been nice and generous and the forum is a friendly place. I can't wait until I have plants and leaves to share. Allison has taught me by example. Thanks to all of you.
I was wondering about the tag too . :)) Where did you buy your Chirita plant April ?
Yes - Brennan's on ebay
Allison, that is a SPECTACULAR photo - my jaw dropped, and I just kept saying -Wow! Wow! Wow! - my DH came in to see what all the fuss was about, and he started saying Oh Wow, what is THAT?
Next question was - Where can you get one?
Just love those frilly edges! And purple spots! whooee!
You can get one from me It will come in your box of plants in the Spring ! I have a whole bunch ! One of my favorite plants. Great for hanging baskets :))
PS I took pictures of Crystal Dawn's first bloom. It was dark cold and rainy here today may take more with sun light. I'll try to post it soon !
Ooooooh! Can't wait until spring!!!!:)
I've got a few crocus just starting to bloom - flowers! Any flowers after all the rain we had this winter, are so welcome - that's why I love DG - pictures of flowers to drool over all year long!
I'd love to see a picture of your Crystal Dawn.
I got a few teeny tiny streps from ebay, and one, my favourite, isn't doing very well, it's a really streaky one called Party Girl - are some of them just much slower growers than other varieties? This one hasn't put on a single new leaf, and all the others are doing really well...sob!
It isn't dying, and the 2 leaves it has look fine, it just isn't doing anything but sitting there vegetating ...should I worry?
I think some are slower and if it had a healthy start ?
I read they like to be trans planted a lot. Though mine never are as I can't keep up with them. MY Cynthia, Christmas Morning, Daniel are always blooming.
Crystal Dawn just started. Crystal Sawn roots easy thought I have lots of babies ! I sent Lorry a Susan baby plant I think that's the one I sent her ?
Laurie sent me lots of leaves so I may be getting lots of Strep babies !
I have lot's of babies of Strep Ilsa growing too. I love Mom ( over watering but saved leaves ! )

Crystal Dawn does not have picture. Maybe I can send her one !
http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/tablec.html
Great link Allison - I love the variegated streps!!
hmmm...I might need another shelf...
Who needs empty wall space, or artwork, anyway?
What a great link to info, Allison - lots of drool-worthy pictures on there!
lovely photo of the Cygnet! too cute when cuttings bloom when tiny.
Yes ! Or you can get it a little bigger. When I pot mine up I keep a peice of stem on each side tiny. I fill small pot/cup with soil gently bend down each side pushing them into the loose light soil until the leaves touching right into the soil. If you can;t do both sides do one same way. Try to put them in the center of the pot.
Give them some warm water or food. Light. And within a week they will have rooted and be growing.
Or I can send Jill one as I have too many. lol
I love this plant so much !
