Well, again I am a late go-to-bedder, so I posting on the new thread before I sign off for the night.

After youth group (I'm the current leader - filling in for DD while she is gone), DH and I had a late supper with friends; homemade pea soup. We stayed until around 10:45 p.m. and then came home to finish writing contracts to be emailed before morning. I could have done it early tomorrow, but I hate doing things like that right after I wake up.

Last night DH and I were sitting on the sofa watching a movie. My hair was in his face so he brushed it down, and the dog whined. We both looked to see what was wrong with her, but she was just laying there looking at us. DH brushed my hair down again, and Suzzie whined again. Again we looked to see what was wrong, and it dawned on me that she didn't want him touching me! She finally walked over and laid her head next to me. Then she was fine. Crazy dog!

jasmerr, my girl is jealous of my DH. It's the friendly kind, you know. She wants equal lovin. When he comes home from work and hugs me ...she sits there and barks at him until he acknowlegdes her. She'll try to get in between us. Crazy dog! She's devoted to me, and no doubt my dog ... but she loves her Daddy!

Merrimac, WI(Zone 4b)

You are having trouble getting to sleep after that long nap, aren't you! I'll be heading off to bed shortly, but I'll probably read before falling asleep. I have been reading Broken for You by Stephanie Kalos. Not very far into the book, but so far so good.

Yep, but I'm going to give it a try. I'll be exhausted tomorrow if I don't. Hope you have a good night.
Hugs&blessings ... E

Good Morning - time to rise and shine and greet the new day!! Night owls that were up till dawn will probably still be in the sack!

How much for a tooth??? Yea gads... DGS told me that when he loses a tooth God puts it in a new babies mouth - isn't that sweet....awwwww I remember a quarter and a pack of gum.

Last night I did something that I am so pleased about. I save those tags that come with flowers (I make permanent ones) Anyhow, the plastic tags were just thrown in a box and I sat down and entered them all in the computer. Now I have a list of what I have. When I go to the nurserys I can never remember exactly what I have - now I will know!! My only problem is that I didn't do it alphabetically, so now I need to figure out how to rearrange things. I'm also making a section on the ones that didn't make it! Happy Camper today!!!

I sat on my duff for most of the day - other than some general pickup stuff that I do daily. If that sun would come out, I need to plant three more clematis and about 50 or so bulbs - procrastination is my middle name.

I feel a sinus problem coming on - teeth are all achy and jaw and ear are hurting. Took my morning allergy tab and hopefully that will give me some relief.

M5- you go blond yet?? That's on my to'do list also.

No milk in the house, so no cereal today... and DH chugged down all the cider too (hog) I have never seen a person drink the quantity he does. I keep telling him to drink water!! A quart of tomato juice or grape juice goes down in one sitting.

Time to turn on the tv and see whats happening in the world.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Morning every one!

And a beautiful one it is, bet you have the same up there, McCool,

My kids got a quarter, DH had to tell me the first time since I did not know this custom here. If the tooth was hanging on a thread they would not let me touch it, so I said, do it youself before you swallow it and there will be no tooth fairy a quarter for their teeth, they did or said you do it, lol, mothers are so smart.

Samson is such an angel in the house, no bother at all listens to me, sleeps all night in his new bed, does not even mind any more if I go for a short walk without him, for my back.. But grows horns when he sees some one else, I wonder if he ever had company?
Good job about saving your tags that way, Sarv, my DH never drank water either, and he needed to, what a job I had with him taking his medicine, oh well all in the past now.
Amazing about jealous pets,

Forgot to ask you, Ernie, how your visit went with Abbie, your sweet GD, bet wonderful, hope you took some pictures?
See you later
Maria

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Good morning all....at least those of you who have abandoned yesterday's thread. To think I had all my uppers yanked and never got so much as a dime under my pillow, but a big fat bill from the dentist instead!!!

Had a lazy day yesterday too....watched a series of programs I had recorded, flopped on the couch most of the afternoon, went out for chinese for dinner and watched tv some more! I'll make up for it today, DD is going to touch up my roots, and like Sarv said, going more blond since the gray is overtaking whatever color my hair actually is. And don't even ask what that is because I haven't seen it in years. Also post office to mail more books (!) and do a few other chores that I've neglected.

Sun's up and it looks like the rain is over. Any day we have sun in November is a good one. Dark comes early and stays late.

DD's last puppy from the big litter was picked up Saturday by his new owner, if you recall his sad story, but he's a happy guy now!
I told DD the reason that last puppy stayed so long was because he was meant for that couple.

Molly is making great strides, and has power on in the mobile home. Or did you already read that? Darius should be there today so maybe we'll get an update from her.

Ernie share some pictures! sunny day to everyone I haven't mentioned......catch up tonight.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

lol about your teeth, M5. just think of it I never got any when I was small, not the custom where I was brought up'
Lower part of drive way is covered with oak leaves, what a mess, DML slipped on one of those and broke her hip, when she was about 57 years old, so every one be carefull walking on wet leaves, as my DD would say, Mom, you always think of the worst happenings, guess I just can't help it

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Good Morning!

Unexpected change of plans. Today I'm going south to Molly's place in Ft. Lauderdale for a day or two, to help her do some planing. Looks like about a 3 hour drive, part on back roads and part on the Turnpike. I'll come back on Wednesday and leave for home Friday morning, arriving there Saturday night.

It will be nice to sleep in my own bed, and be out of a vibrating vehicle for a few days.

Merrimac, WI(Zone 4b)

Goodmorning, everyone! Just checking in before I really get started. I've been up for about 45 minutes; awake longer than that, but not quite going yet.

Sarv - when you entered the flower names into the computer what program did you use? It may be very easy to alphabetize them.

Maria - I'll bet the tooth fairy seemed like a very strange custom to you! LOL

M5 - thanks again for going to all the trouble to get books.

Have a wonderful day!

Jody

Edited: Have a safe drive, Darius, and say "Hello" to Molly!

Morning, Darius, you must be very tired but I know you are looking forward to be with Molly

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Yes, I am quite tired. This old grey mare ain't what she used to be! Travelling takes so much out of me as I age, more than I realized. But I am glad to be going to help Molly for a couple of days.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

I know what you mean, Darius, Samson showed me my age LOL

Millbury, MA(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone,

Yes, Maria, it's sunny here too. Yay! (Of course, the wind is also blowing and DH is practically growling every time he sees a leaf go hurtling by the window. He's been trying to keep up with them, to no avail.)

Hi darius, it's no wonder you're tired. You've been covering a lot of miles in a short time.

Hi M5, sarv, jasmerr. Thanks for the new thread, julie.

Things to do --- got to go now.

Muscoda, WI(Zone 4b)

Darius, it's good to see you! That road trip is WAY outta my collections of abilities, let me tell ya. Glad things are going so well (or at least appear to be.)

Maria...the first reaction I had to your escapade with Samson was
:-O :-O :-O
the second, as I read further in the conversation was OMG!! Then it turned to ROTFLMBO! Lady you sure had one heck of day yesterday. Hope you don't decide to repeat it just for the pictures. LOL

DH is on his way into the house to get me. (He's putting lattice on the carport this morning...and probably needs a little assistance!)

BBL, (OH...HELLO EVERYONE!!)
~julie~

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Just a quick note as I am at work right now. Another wonderful day .Had the thunderstorm here last night as well, but nothing much. The weekend went way to fast. Still had lots more to do outside.

I am not looking forward to cold winter weekends. With both step kids living with us, I need to be away from them as much as possible. They are 24 and 26 and LAZY! Stepson has anger management issues that I am having a real hard time dealing with lately. I think there is going to be a big go round at our house very soon. Sorry, had to vent a little.

Hope every one has a great day!

Silver Lake, OH(Zone 5b)

Hi everyone, hope I can join this little group.

I need a place to post what I'm doing so I have someone to account to if I don't get stuff done. I have ADD and it's keeping me from focusing on anything long enough to accomplish much at all lately.

So... it's a beautiful sunlit day, looks like early September not November.! It's going to be 60 today and dry. Yayy!

I am going to the chiropractor today and after that, I need to come home and :
1) do laundry
2) clear off the flat surfaces in my kitchen and sort what was on the counters.

Dear friend's birthday is today - must call her and sing her Happy Birthday!

I have a rehearsal at 7:30 for a singing group I'm in but my throat is sore - fighting what DH has been coughing at me all week. Ugh.

If I can I'd like to work outside for a little while to get at least the dropped tomatoes out of my raised bed.

Doesn't sound like a lot but it is a lot to me.
Hope you all are having a great day today!

His,
janie

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Good Morning GOBs and 'Ettes!

I had a lovely Dmail "Chat" with IO1 last night. Has anyone tried to get into the backdoor chat lately? I couldn't get it to work for us last night. I'm thinking the door got slammed, sigh.

Jasmerr, I'm not sure if I would be upset or flattered that my dog was that jealous. I'm glad you laughed about it, but it kinda creeps me out a little, lol. Rosie has such a toy fixation I'm only that important if I have the ball or a treat in my hand.

IO1, well of course she wants equal treatment, you get your turn and she wants hers too! My dogs get very excited when my dad comes over, but it is his own fault...He brings them treats! Then he complains when Rosie tries to beat him to death with her tail. Since most Rotties have their tails docked, people have no idea just how powerful her tail is until they get whacked with it. OUCH!

Sarv, you got gum too? How warped is that? I am so impressed with your tag project! Will you print it out and take it with you? Maybe you better laminate the pages, lol. I hate it when my sinuses make my teeth hurt, that is the pits. I had a really nasty infection last spring and I really don't ever want another like that, yuk.

Maria, no Tooth Fairy? While you were raising your children here in the States, were there any traditions or customs from your childhood that you incorporated for them? Which were the same or slightly different? I find this very interesting, I have a friend in Australia and we compare what we do for alot of things.

M5, I spent yesterday with my DVR too, how weird is that? I am totally hooked on an Australian TV show that is shown here on WE called McLeod's Daughters. In fact, that is how I met my Aussie friend, lol. Anyway, I have almost 3 seasons recorded and I have got to figure out how to transferr it to vhs or dvd, they are taking up almost 70 hours of my 100 recordable! But after starting to re-watch them I think I may end up erasing them after another round of viewings.

Darius, Back to Molly's? Wonderful! I know you and Molly are going to have a blast, and maybe get another peek at Mr SweetJeans? What brought this change on, is your sister being a hemorrhoid again? Don't you hate that vibrating feeling when you get out of a car after being on the road for a long time?

McCool, my son is begging the wind to blow the leaves down, he has quite a leaf raking racket going in our neighborhood, rofl. And mom has a huge stack of black garbage bags piled up nest to the garage. Can you say "Leaf Mold Compost"!!

Wow, was that Julie that just blew in? I might have missed her, I think I blinked, lol!

Suzieq, Hi! I somehow missed welcoming you to the Coffee Club, I'm so sorry. Vent away, we have, and will! You will find sympathetic shoulders and lots of {{{SUZIEQ}}}'s to go around when they are needed. This is a fabulous group of gals and a few guys to share and care with. And nobody has mentioned our handy dandy 2x4 for spousal attitude adjustment, it is certainly adept at handling adult children too, lol!

Janiejoy, WELCOME!! My son (15) is ADHD/ODD so feel free to use me as your "big sister is watching you" roflmbo! If you accomplish #1 & 2, please come to my house and show me how. I have a neverending battle with the laundry monster that lives and breeds in my basement. It scares me, it is a big monster!

I've left banana nut muffins on the counter, and there are blueberry muffins next to them. I just brewed a fresh pot of coffee, it's Mocha Caramel flavored, yum! I have a huge batch of beef veggie noodle soup in the crockpot for our lunches too, so dig in!

I have a dr appt at 1:45. He is going to schedual another MRI on my hiney because it isn't getting any better, and actually has been hurting a bit more the last 2 days. Dh picked up another pain Rx friday night to get me thru the weekend, so I slept most of it away. I'll update you all when I know something.

Enjoy your day!
mg

Just a quick check-in. Have to go off and see the luthier who made my viola as I've managed to slightly injure it.

janie - welcome. Just tell this group your challenges and they'll (we'll) bug you till you get them done. LOL

Nice to hear from Darius. Best wishes for a continued safe journey.

I'll check in later. Now off to get my hair dry and get the viola and cell phone repaired.

Ann

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Good morning everyone. Most of you are up and attacking or enjoying the day before I even get out of bed about 5 or 5:30 local (Pacific time zone) time. I woke up hearing light rain. This rainy pattern we are in is a bit unusual for us, and now that it is light outside I can see that it is also foggy with the thermometer reading 33. I'll bundle up and work outside in the flower beds until I get wet and cold and that will be it for the day. Got to dig out one of my plastic ponchos, it would help me stay dryer than yesterday. I did stay with the yard projects long enough yesterday afternoon to get a couple of them done, trimmed all the sprouts off another lilac bush (a hands and knees job crawling around under the bush which was dripping on me) and finished digging out the edge along a flower bed, and moved the dog and his house back to his winter spot which is sheltered from the storms. I use the tractor for that job, slide his house into the bucket on the front of the tractor, tip it back and pick it up. The freezing weather will be here soon and then I won't be doing any garden work.

Ernie mentioned in his post on yesterday's thread that he has bronchitis. My husband has had that so many times and a few times it has turned into pneumonia. Take care of yourself, Ernie, and I hope you feel better soon. On a happier note his puppy is gaining weight and probably feeling a whole lot better than he does.

I think Molly's electricity is at the place where she is currently living, it was off since hurricane Wilma roared through a few weeks ago. Darius will enjoy that luxury when she visits. I think she and Molly will be able to give each other lots of help and encouragement with getting Molly's new place liveable, and planning is an important part of the process. When they get into the actual work at the new place they'll have the combination of Molly's energy and Darius' know how so should have that place looking good pretty quickly. Daruis, I'm sure glad you will be spending the winter with Molly.

Hubby just left for work and I need to get the fire going in the woodstove and get started on laundry which will dry on the folding rack by the fire. I'll do some inside work while I wait for the outside temperature to warm up a few degrees. Yesterday's high almost reached 40, woopeee! Big deal, huh? Time to go.

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

mg- Thanks for the welcome (and everyone else) ODD does that stand for oppositional defiant disorder? If so, my stepson was diagnosed with that years ago. I was hoping he would outgrow it, guess that hasn't happend yet. I get angry with him, but he has had a rough time of it. His mother left DH when he was only 4. He only saw her a few times after that. They tried getting in touch with her when he was around 18 and SD 20, but she wouldn't get back to them. I cannot for the life of me imagin giving birth to a child (or in this case 2) and then abandoning them. It's just unthinkable to me.

JanieJoy-Welcome! I've only been here for a little over a week. I'm addicted now.

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Back from the workout joint - stopped and got a mega cappiccino on the way home- negates all the workout I fear! But who cares.....

Suzq - here's the 2x4 to rap those lazy kids side the hinny with. Aren't they old enough to be out on their own?? We were at my brothers (2 steps 20 and 16) Oldest one just got out of jail for non payment of a ticket (20 days - yikes) She was telling all the other teens at the dining room table that being in jail wasn't bad. Sleep all day, watch tv, workout, food made for ya. She said she kinda liked it. I was aghast!!! (but I was eavesdropping from the other room....) Talk about no ambition....she takes the cake.

jas- oh please tell me there is a way to alphabetize them - I have an old apple and used the program 'appleworks' - essentially a word processing program. I won't do a thing until I hear from you.

janie- welcome to the club. I write everything down and check it off as I complete it...works good for me. However, I have slips of paper all over the house!! LOL

Darius- I love traveling, but love even more getting home. Nothing like your own sheets and jon.... I always get a stiff, tense neck from driving. Been known to pop a xanax too - I love driving, but going thru rush hour traffic sometimes gets to me - or over high bridges....

mg- I plan on making several copies of all my plants - one for my purse, one for the car, several just to lay around the house...forgot I had so many plants!!

I'll take one of each muffin - just so I can tell ya which one is the best. Thanks

Oklahoma City, OK

there's a backdoor?...i never even tried the front door. well, i did once...b'cepts i got lost.

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Sarv - I'm glad MY son got some of my old fashioned values. He is 18,works 2 jobs and still has time to help DH do maintenance on the barns and yardwork. I worry that this one will be a workaholic as he doesn''t know when to slow down and just kick back a little. I do have to admit that the farm he works at part time has an added bonus. They have 2 very sweet daughters about his age. Sounds like your brothers situation is similar to mine. Stepson has been in jail also, unfortunatley more serious that a traffic ticket. He was involved in drugs at one point. Stepdaugher also was into drugs and lost custody of her son because of it. DGS now lives with my SIL.

Wow, I'll never catch up with y'all. Tried making notes so I wouldn't leave out anyone ... and y'all took off again! *sigh* Anyway, good morning to everyone and if I leave someone out ... don't mean to.
Okay, I'm not just getting up … PROMISE! The DH did let me sleep, though. Kissed me, turned off the phone and had my coffee pot ready to flip on. I love that guy! hehehe

, if you're using Word … you can go back and alphabetize the plant names. I'm sure you probably can in other word processing programs, also, but that's the one I'm familiar with. I hope your sinus headache gets better. I hate those things. Makes you want to just take the darn thing off and sit it down somewhere while you go about your business. LOL
Maria, I find that interesting about different customs also. You'll have to tell us more. Since I'm new in the group, I didn't realize that.
Hi Darius
Good to hear from you. I'm hoping your trip has been a fun one and that sister of yours has been NICE. We could all gang up on her if that would help? ;) Call me on Friday . We might have plans for the week-end, but if we don't … you are welcomed to stop by again if you need a warm bed.

Suzi … I sure feel sorry for you. I have to be careful making comments about kids and the problems associated with them, as I don't have kids and have been told (by my sisters) that's it's easy to be a parent when you don't have them. And, I guess there's some truth to that, but …I'd be dead now if I'd done some of the things the kids are doing now! And … okay, I'll just hush! hehehe
Hi Janie
So glad to have you join our group. We're a chatty bunch of folks, so just come on in, pull up a chair and when there's a breather … jump in!
Morning Gale
Yep, I enjoyed our talk last night. I finally managed to get off to sleep. I'm running behind on everything this morning. I thought I was the only one with a laundry monster. I can't figure it out. We're either the dirtiest 2 people or the cleanest. Hmmmm. I don't know. I sure hope your Dr. appointment goes ok and you get good news … or at least relief from the pain.
Well, I'm sure I've missed a bunch, but got to get back up from here. It's a Monday after all. Y'all have a great day.

Oh, and thanks for the info about my problem with the fish oil. I guess it's because I take it in the morning and drink coffee. Will start taking it at night instead.

Morning to Molly, Jody, Judy, McCool, and anyone else I missed!
… Elaine

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Hey Wysteria- come on in (open the door) and join us!! Let your hair down and tell us all about your life/family etc. You can even let the skeletons outta the closet here!! No one will tell!! Pass around the plate girls and welcome new gal!

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Well, I have been such a good girl today. This is the first time I have signed on. Have gotten a lot of housework accomplished, picking up, and LAUNDRY, where does it all come from. Just the 2 of us, and I am never completely done.

I like the daily posts, as I can sort of keep it in it's proper time frame.

Jasmerr, I laughed about the jealous dog. My Jack Russell is jealous, but only if the cat tries to get in my lap. He is there pronto, to get her down!!

Sarv, I like you just got a quarter per tooth, and no gum at all, guess they decided the gum would end up costing dental bills. I can't help on the Apple computer program that alphabetizes, Word will do that though. I have just finished inventoring my seeds/plants too. Now when I get something new, I can just add it to the data base. I sometimes have the sinus thing, and boy if left untreated, have had some doozy infections. Brothers children sound like they need a life. Jail isn't so bad, how about the loss of freedom?

Maria, I finally laughed about your escapade with Samson yesterday, but please do be careful. And the leaf issue is a good reminder, when wet, they can be slicker than snot!! Please tell us about some different customs from your country.

Meezer, Not a tooth fairy, but a dentist bill!! I laughed at that one. But surely you lost the baby teeth, didn't the fairy visit then?

Darius, glad you checked in. I am so envious, wish I could be there with you and Molly. I know that you will enjoy helping Molly, but will enjoy getting home also. Check in when you can.

Julie, don't you just love it when DH's need help. I can ask for help, and he acts like it is an extreme effort, but yet, when he needs help, I am expected to drop everything and rush off.

Susieq, I think that your grown step children could benefit from the use of the "special DG 2x4". If nothing else, make them move to find jobs.

JanieJoy, welcome. Feel free to tell us your daily happenings, and vent if necessary. All cyber food is calorie free so help yourself.

MG, your dad complaining about being thumped by the dogs tail, made me laugh. My twin sister ran for county clerk several years ago, and campaigned with a pocket full of dog biscuits, so she wouldn't be attacked. Thanks for the muffins, I like Sarv took one of each, just to be able to tell which was best!! Both were very good. Hope your Dr. appointment goes well, and can get you on the road to a speedy recovery.

MaryE, you must be a very dedicated gardner to get out and garden in the rain and the chill. I just use rain as an excuse to stay inside!! You mentioned Ernies bronchitis, I get one bout per winter, and sometimes hangs on for weeks. Last winter that episode resulted in 3 visits to the Dr before it cleared up.

101 What a sweet DH you have, to let you sleep in. I slept a little later, because I was worn out from our trip this weekend.

Wysteria, don't be "just a lurker" come on it, I guarantee, that nobody here will harm you in any way. We are a chatty, friendly bunch, and are here to cheer, jeer, or encourage as the need arises. Yes, we can come to your defense quicker than greased lightening. So know that you always have someone to watch your back.

Well, I am heading to the kitchen to do some prep for supper. Am having the neighbor over tonight, as he is a widow because his wife is traveling. He doesn't cook, so I know that whatever I have, will be appreciated. I will be back later to check in, you all have a grand day.

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

WOW no time to catch up AGAIN! speed reading my way though lots of posts and threads today!
Took son to dentist they took his two top teeth so he was a little sad LOL
More to do later but trying to catch up with you all and some other funny threads today before getting the rest of the day going!
Still here as usual good day to all and I will be back to check in!!!
Anne
Welcome Suzie and Janie Good luck keeping up with this wonderful group!!!!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Welcome to Wysteria and Janiejoy, two more lurkers have decided to join the fun! We try to keep track of everybody, but it is just like sitting around a real big kitchen table yackity yacking away and we tend to miss things and mix them up sometimes. It's a great place and we do get on each other's backs a bit now and then to eat right, go see a doctor, take a walk while you cool off, etc, but we also laugh a lot. So join right in, it's a big extended family.

SusieQ, it sounds like your husband has overcompensated his children for the loss of their mother. Too bad you feel like you don't want to spend much time in your own home. Have you tried talking with your husband about giving them 30 or 60 days to get a job and at least contribute to the household expenses? That would be a good first step toward getting these adult aged "kids" out on their own. Of course there would have to be some consequences if the lazy kids don't get a job, like maybe finding everything they own piled up on the front lawn some day after the deadline. That happened to somebody we know and he said it was the best thing that ever happened to him. It's called tough love.

My hubby just called from town (20 miles away) and said it had been snowing all morning. He was wondering if it was doing the same here, nope, just drizzly rain, same as when he left.

Time to get outside and tackle the flower bed clean up before it does start to snow here. Temperature hasn't changed and isn't likely to do so.

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

OOOPS went to this thread just checked yesterdays lost in direction LOL
I will comment to the tooth fairy here!
He gets $5.00 a tooth but I think tonight he will get 10 for each since they are the top 2 and he was such a trooper!!
He got laughing gas MG and he was HAPPY $225.00 later he will be fine and is coming to terms with the dentist TAKING his teeth!!!
He will not let me take a picture yet but maybe if I can show him a picture from here of Jenna with her missing tooth he will see what fun it is!
LOL
IF he does I will post it !!!
thanks all,
Anne

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Thanks for all the support regarding the stepchildren situation. You guys are the BEST!

Sarv - I'm not sure If I can help, but I work on an mac computer. I use a program called Filemaker. Is the program you use similar to word, or is a database program? If it is a database, look at the icons in your menu bar and see if there is one that says "records". If there is click on it and the drop down list might have a sort option.
Hope I can be of help.

Darius- Hope you are having safe travel and a great time.

Maria - I meant to mention earlier that there is a beutiful Golden Ret. I pass every morning on my way to work. When his owner stops, he stops and sits right beside her. I don't see her give any verbal or hand commands. With your love and some good training, samson will be just as well behaved. Just be careful in the meantime. Don't want you getting hurt.

Have a good afternoon everyone!

Merrimac, WI(Zone 4b)

Sarv - at the top of your word processor page see if you have "Table" (to the right of "File," "Edit," etc.) If so, click there and see if you have a "Sort" option.

Awe I just can not keep from commenting again on the weather difference. It's 79 degrees here and y'all are talking about snow, etc. Burrrr! I can't phantom getting out in that horrid weather to garden. I definitely don't like plants that well. I freeze down here. Went to Belks and bought me some "Cuddle Duds" the other day cause we have gas heat and DH said we'd have to keep it on 68 for sure this year.
I got so mad at myself just now. Had a phonecall and broke the #1 rule in the entire world. It was the bank confirming some business we had done and going over paper work. Well, they wanted to "confirm" my SSN and BD, and although I drew a complete blank on the SSN ... gave them the BD. Yep, can't believe this! Now how many times have you heard ... never never give out info on the phone. Why in the world would your bank ask for such. Am calling them and giving them an ear full. Just think what some REALLY old and befuttled person would tell! :)
Went to the washroom to throw over the clothes and ... you guessed it ... hadn't closed the dang lid to the washing machine, so they were just sitting there.
Any coffee? Those muffins sure were good this morning. I've got to go figure out what I'm fixing for supper. Will check later. Oh Ernie ... hope your Bronchitis gets better. I don't personally get that, but have my share of those sinus infections.
I'd like to also welcome Wysteria and Janiejoy to the table. This is a great place to prop your feet up and fuss a bit or just have a laugh or two.
Okay okay, I know I said I had to go 10 minutes ago. I'm outa here!

I guess I gave some misinformation regarding the stepchildre. They DO have jobs. They complain about it, and do very little around the house. Stepdaughter goes next door and complains to my sister about having to do chores. She cleans the kitchen up 2-3 times a week after dinner and maybe vacumes the living room once a week. What a slave driver I am!

Magoo - Our newspaper has a "missing teeth club" each week they feature about 6 pictures of kids with missing front teeth. It's really cute!

I would not say that is a slave driver if she wants more chores I will certainly give her some LOL

Well, I just finished one load of laundry and started another one. DH never washes kitchen towels and I was down to ONE. I have dozens!!!

We read that fecal/oral contamination is more likely to come from your laundry basket than your bathroom... that our undergarments contain lots of fecal matter and that when we wash in cold water with other things it just swishes that stuff around and deposits it on the clothes in the same load. So now we are washing in hot water with bleach and doing undies separately - kind of a pain but DH has a very sensitive gastrointestinal system and is fighting a coughing thing, too. So we don't want any more contamination. He's a doctor and gets lots of kids sneezine and coughing in his face each day.

I got a nice surprise - my nephew who is 18 and taking his senior year classes at Kent State came to visit me and brought me lunch~~!! We had a lovely visit and he played with my fur kids (4 out of 5).

Right now, since it is beautiful outside, I have the window open and 4 of the 5 fur kids are sitting here with me as I type... what a treat.

Next I'm going to get a big laundry basket and whisk everything off the flat surfaces in my kitchen/office. Then I'm going to get some sort of filing cabinet and start a filing system I can use temporarily while we organize DH's crazy room.

Here are the fur kids enjoying the sunshine.

I am out for a while and just look what I missed, first of all welcome Susieq, JanieJoy and Wisteria, wou will like it here 's wonderful, 's marvelous that you should care for us :-))
Susie, hope my Samson will be like that one of these days, right now he is a menace, have been told there is a collar with a chip in it with monitor in hand you can make them stop what ever they are doing like jumping on people.I think I was right about the heights of the car floor, I put down one of the back seats, Samson jumped right out from the back door, phew, am I glad.
Anne, glad everything went OK with your little one at the dentist, see? No big deal!
One of my sons was awful about taking his dirty clothes to the laundry room, one day I told him i will not wash them any more unless he takes them where they suppose to be, after a few days there were none in his room nor in the laundry, this puzzled me, decided to check further, I could not belief where I found them in his chest of drawers mixed with the clean ones. I lost my temper, which is not too difficult for me,, I took out every stitch of clothes even the ones hanging in the closet, ripped the sheets of his bed empted all the drawers, clothes or not, they ended up in the middle of the floor When he came home from school , he yelled at me saying I have invaded his privacy, lol, I said you sort every thing out and you will stay in here till you are done and make your bed too. He never forgot to put his soiled clothes in to the laundry room after that, told him I would do that again.
Beautiful day today but windy

Good for you, Maria! Sure wish my MIL had done something like that with my DH. I don't have much to complain about when it comes to DH's but gosh is he a messy one. If there's an empty surface around ... he thinks it's just there for him to put something. What is it with a man that can not stand a clean surface? I am not a neat freak or anything, but can't abide clutter. If things are picked up and in their proper place ... well, it APPEARS clean. :) Besides, I can't find anything when things aren't in their proper place. Maybe if I told him I would not wash his clothes ...
Oh well, he is such a good DH. He did, afterall fix my coffee and let me sleep in. That's what marriage is all about ... that 100% 100 of the time, right? hehehe
He called and wants hot wings for supper, so got it easy. Took the chick out and am back in here to see what's going on. Tomorrow I'll have to vac, so if I go missing ... y'all say a prayer. K? I hate housework.
Am glad the dentist appointment went well for your little one. I'm with him, LOL ... I don't like dentist.

I did try to teach my boys to cook, even bake bread and take care of their clothes, they even learned how to sew on buttons, I told them not to depend on a wife to wait on them hand and foot, this is a good thing for one of them, he is a confirmed bachelor.
My MIL taught her two sons the same they are very neat and my husband was a very good cook, though he knew nothing about baking, which is my favorite thing to do in the kitchen but have not done much of that lately and when I do it is for my children, neighbores or food sales.
Customs in Austria are pretty much the same as here. We go to school; many more days then here, have only one week vacation at Christmas, and summer only 6 weeks, go with longer hours too.

We eat with knife and fork using both hands, I find it much easier then to keep putting one utensil down and move the other in into the right hand, some times I see people chopping all the food right away it ends up looking like a pile of garbage lol . Since I always liked a table well set and have food looking appetizing and carefully thought out I have a hard time justyfing this.
We do not celebrate thanksgiving, it is not one of my favorite holiday, I remember my MIL cooking like mad, everybody eats the same as if there where no tomorrows and all the men folk fall a sleep while we have to clean up for hour afterwards, not to mention the fellers spending the morning at a football game lol
Probably more differences will come to mind as the holiday season progresses.
Maria
