Darling, Dear, Dang, or any other discriptive word you may wish at the time is the D. And the H is for Husband. The same goes for DW (wife), DD (daughter) DS (son) and so on.

Hope this helps.

Oh and DG is Dave's Garden.

Sometimes they get complicated! DSIL-D. Sister in Law, DSD-D. Step daughter... how about this? :) DMUDN2R: D. Mother's Uncle's Dog's Neighbor twice removed? :)

I'm a brat, I know... :)

Sarah...ROFL!!!

SIL is confusing, could be sister in law or son in law

and GW can be Garden Watchdog, our own gardenwife, or that substandard GardenWeb site.

But kept in context with the posting, the GW works itself out.

Oh no!!!!!! What have I started??????????

S, you are not to blame, these nut cases need no help in amusing themselves among themselves. You just happen to be a tool them stumbled across on the way to the funny farm.

LMAO

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

"NUT CASES" and you include yourself amongst us yes????
LOL LOL LOL

i guess this is the spot for stoopid questions...*heh*....can you delete d-mails...or are they just stuck there forever? i saw where u can move, but not finding a delete. im sure its been asked before, but my goodness theres a kabillion things to look thru. [have this horrible fear that its rite under my nose]

Not exactly under your nose - but the FAQs for the Home and Forums tabs do contain some (hopefully) helpful info, including this one.

Quoting:
DG member-to-member messages ("D-mail") allow you to correspond privately with another person, similar to email. But a member-to-member message system has two important differences from a typical email program:

1) Your correspondence is done in a single "thread" - similar to our forums, but this is a message between just you and the other person.

2) Your email address is never revealed to the other person (and you don't see their email address, either.)

The first difference is important because it means your message can't be deleted. If either of you deleted it, the other person would not be able to read or respond to it. (In a traditional email system, each person retains a copy of the correspondence and can choose whether to keep or delete their copy without affecting the other person.)

The second difference is important to maintaining your privacy. At Dave's Garden we do not sell, rent or share your personal email address to any third party. Our unique message system allows us to keep that pledge to you, and hopefully help keep some "spam" out of your email box. If you correspond with someone and they ask for your personal email address, you should probably make sure there's a good reason to do so before you hand it over.

You can manage your message box by sorting the messages by any of the column headings (sender, recipient, date, subject); you can also search for a message by a username or key word(s). If a message is one you want to keep "top of mind", you can click to save it as new so it will remain visible from your DG "home" page until you re-read it or reply to it.

And since that was written, Dave has also given us the option of creating folders - you can always create one for "deleted" messages and move the "never-gonna-read-again" messages to there.

My favourite of all abbreviations is still Wintermoor's - SWMBO! Anyone remember it?

Oklahoma City, OK

ahh..ok...thankyaeverso terry...quick response.

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Kooger, I love that too. When Wintermoor was talking about his wife, it was always ( SWMBO ) = she who must be obeyed.

ROTFLOL

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

It's a shame someone ticked him off so he left DG. His jokes were the best. Jokes forum isn't worth visiting anymore.

That is a shame Bernie :(

Nut cases? I resemble that remark.

He's been real busy but told me he'd be back soon on DG - actually it was a threat! LOL
