The option to close a thread is available on the ID forum and the seed- and plant- trading forums. If you start a thread in any of those three forums you can opt to "close" it after you have gotten an ID or your offer/request is completed - the link is visible near the top of the thread.

Thank you, Terry. Probably a stupid question and an insensitive one to ask, and maybe even embarassing for me, too, but a prayer request can't be closed, then?

That's a really good question (far from stupid or insensitive ;o)

The short answer is no. But if the person who started the thread has two choices:

1) you can edit the first post to remove the request, and replace it with a brief explanation.

2) you can ask us to to permanently remove the thread. Just use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every page of the site, and - if possible - please include a link to the thread, or at least the title of the thread (links are REALLY appreciated as they cut down on the time it takes us to find threads we're not personally familiar with.)
