Don't feel stupid. I'm sure the bare trees and flowers dying only adds to the other symptoms. Personally, I love Autumn, but I would really love about six more weeks of the leaf color, mums blooming, cool air, weather. It never lasts long enough for me. I can get a little bummed in the winter, too.
Take care and don't wait too long to talk with your doctor. (Dr. Sarv doesn't count! ;-D
Good night,
Jody
Coffee and...Part 46...! :-D
Good Night and I will be seeing my doctor the end of next week. I will pick up the light this weekend and see what happens. Thanks again.
Here we don't get the changing of the seasons. Its summer, hot and green trees and bright flowers, then winter, cold, bare trees and no flowers.
Good night. Dance with the angels
Casey
Everyone, I know you all are really busy but I thought maybe a few of you if you are headed near the post office could drop an extra post card in the mail for a little girl.

Thanks
Casey, Where is the address for this little girl?
Maria
Good Morning, Everyone
I am one of those strange creatures that will take any medicine as a last resort, perhaps I have learned some of this from some of our Christian Science relatives. It is mind over matter and this is true to some extend., but when my children get too worried about me I felt I have to take action to get medical help. This morning I finally can breath. I finally could sleep with Ambien through the night without waking up soaking wet from persperation and without coughing so hard I thought this would be my last breath I had to give.
The breathing machine was the first big help to catch my breath again, then Levaquin and Touro DM for healing plus Zoloft and Indapamide for BP and depression are doing the rest. Dr. said it will take two weeks for me to be healthy again but must rest.
Thank you you all for caring that in itself made me feel better, especially the lovely thoughts you have for me tgif, I will always remember them.
Ann, if I were well enough I would fly up to Toronto to join and hear 'Autumn in Vienna"
you cannot imagine how I would love to do that .
Sarv, Sorry I did not write clearly do understand what I was talking about, but most of the time I don't either LOL
Am getting tired again it is 6:45AM, going back to bed, thanks all
Maria
Just a real quick Good Morning everyone before I head off - this morning to work and this afternoon to the funeral of an elderly neighbour.
Clocks go back tomorrow evening. It will be nice to awake to brighter days next week even if it IS dark by dinner time.
Ann
Sheesh - look at all the people up before me!! Maria, glad you have meds that are turning your 'yuckies' around. We expect a 'chick' full of vim and vigor in two weeks!
SAD, hmm I wonder if that is what I have? Remember I said I hate the fall and get into a funk! I always thought it was just the holiday stuff getting me down, but maybe it is something else!! Does one use a sunlamp (the kind I used years ago for a burn?) In my younger years I developed some mighty sore burns from using one!
Not much of news here- going to the workout joint, then general house pick up (man that is going to take me some time too) and some bulb planting. Supposed to be in the 60's this weekend - nice temps for this late in the season.
Nothing on the counter here= need to make a stop at the store for some goodies..(ps halloween candy is in the bowl on the table- go ahead and snitch one)
Rats!!! It happened again. 11:00 last night and 3:00 tthis morning. That nasty bitter, burning bile reflux from GERD.Quaffed Maalox and ate Tums to no avail so arose at 4:00 to have a cup of Earl Grey tea and read the latest DG happenings. SAD is a reality and affects us here as well. Fall is a beautiful yet depressing time of year, moreso for me this week due to an unpredicted freeze that left all but 2 or 3 of the Brugmansias frostbitten. At least the sunroom shingles are all in place and a dozen of the smaller plants have been brought in, but where to put 50 big ones ? Little Immy has learned to sit for a treat rather than leap up in the air like a jack in the box.
Magoo, chocolate Chunk Creme Brulee ? That sounds like something fit for Royalty. I love custards, and that's the cream of the crop.
Good to hear Maria is on the mend, and got her name back. Take good care of yourself Maria.
Mary, hope you have good weather for your ride.Be sure to let us know your standing when the results are added up. Wishing you the best of luck.
My how time flies, it's after 5:00 so I'd better hustle out and make coffee.Don't want my sweetheart to get up and not have a fresh cup of mud.
FANTASTIC Maria!!
GM early birds! Although I don't know if you qualify as an early bird if you are a night owl! Looks like a pretty good day ahead, sun's almost up (I know, the earth has rotated blah blah blah but old cliches die hard) and it's heading for the 60s if the weatherman is correct. I dug in a few bulbs yesterday, but the wind was kind of chilly. Maybe get more done today. If I can drag myself away from the computer.
Yikes, Darius, mend your fences with your sister, but stay well armed and alert. And if you get to the point where you are permanently sharing quarters, I would strongly urge you to get everything in writing as she seems to change with the weather. Cover your ummmm, since I already got an Adm. warning , cover whatever needs covering...
Carat, you are wise to equip your departing children with household needs. I used to say I'd go visit my towels and sheets, not the kids. They are pretty well furnished themselves now, but I used to laugh because they'd deny having taken anything, but there it was in plain sight! And be sure that if you get some full spectrum lighting you aren't sacrificing the flowers!!! You need both!! And I will gladly swap two eclairs for some of the Chocolate Chunk Creme Brulee......!
Hey, Sarv, how did the hair come out? I do my own too..and it looks like it. And I need a trim but I think I'm going to get DD the dog groomer to do it...how's that for cheap? LOL Dr. Sue ! When DD got her vet. tech license from the state they erroneously sent her a Dr. of Vet Medicine certificate!! I told her she should have kept it, just for kicks.
Dcat, I tried to see if there were local restaurants looking for mystery diners, but there weren't any around here. Lots of people order food they can't consume, so it's not unusual for people to walk out carrying styrofoams containers with entrees and desserts. I've probably said this before, but we often order one entree and share it because there's just too much food for one person. In your case, you have to order according to the company's instructions, so there's bound to be leftovers. How sad for you.... LOL
Maria, I thought "aria" was appropriate too, with your love of music, but it's nice you can have your own name, at last. Glad the dr. gave you appropriate meds, and you are feeling better. Say hello, if only that, so we know you are keeping up.
Did Kooger go on vacation? Did I miss something?
Robert, if you have chronic GERD you need to look into Prilosec or Nexium, that acid is terribly destructive to your esophagus. You need to control it, daily, so that it can't sneak up on you.
I take Prilosec because my cholesterol meds give me heartburn...and Tums won't do it. Smart new little girl, when do we get some more pictures? Presumably, when she slows down enough that she's not a blur????
Speaking of SAD, and family, I have determined that I have a serious case of B.A.D.
Medically speaking, it is brought on (specifically, in my case) by the appearance of my brother-in-law . Symptoms include social withdrawal, anxiety (how much money/time will he squeeze out of DH this time?) sleep disturbance, and mood changes ...the guy just drives me up a wall!! If you have a moment....here's his latest misadventure: Skip the following paragraphs if you don't want to hear me ____ing. (there's that warning again....)
Right after Katrina, as the flood waters were receding, BIL #1 in Illinois got a call from miscreant BIL#2 in Wisconsin, (DH is the only one approaching normalcy in his family) who proposed that they go down to New Orleans and help with reconstruction and make "a lot of money". BIL#1 declined as he has a job, but BIL#2 (chronically unemployed) insisted he still wanted to go but needed a truck. BIL#1 said he had a truck he could sell him, so BIL#2 said he and his wife would come down and pick it up, and he would go to NO, and wife would go home. They arrived, and after a night during which I assume a considerable amount of alcohol was consumed, BIL#1 got up in the morning, BIL#2 and wife were gone, and so was the truck. Pause here, while you sort it out.
About a week later, DH got a call from BIL#1, with this particular tale of woe, one more of many . BIL#2 didn't go to NO, he drove back up here, and now complains the truck is junk, and he won't pay for it.
BIL#1 wants DH to go get the truck and bring it to our house. DH is backpedaling furiously, trying not to get sucked into this whirlpool of insanity. Tells BIL#1 he can't do it. Sigh of relief. Silence. Blissful Silence. But not for long.
This week, DH gets a call from BIL#1, his dad (DH's stepdad) is going to go look at the truck and see if he can get it running and will bring it over here. Auggghhhhhh!!!! This means that this piece of crap will be sitting in our drive until BIL#1 comes up to get it. Not saying when. But that means DH will spend considerable time and money helping this bozo fix whatever is wrong with that truck, and I get a house guest I can't stomach. DH has generously, in the past, bought vehicles for BIL#1, and never been reimbursed a cent, even though BIL#1 has sold them later. BIL#2 owes him thousands that he borrowed, and never repaid. Just one of the many reasons we haven't had anything to do with him for at least 10 years.
So, Frick and Frack tried to outsmart each other and neither one entered the battle equipped with a brain. And DH, being as good hearted as he is will end up helping BIL#1 once again. Is it any wonder that I have B.A. D. ???

Maria, what a wonderful collage. Beautiful photos, thanks for showing. Hope you are feeling better now that you know what the problem was and how to treat it.
M5, been on Prilosec and associated pills for years. Flare-ups don't happen often, but sure are a nuisance when they do pop up. Boy, that Frick and Frack situation must be a real pain in the derriere. Sounds like more than a 2X4 is needed, and not necessarily for DH.
Carat, neighbor just had a garage sale to get rid of her sons College Dorm furniture. He has flown the nest and she said she wasn't going to be his Storage Unit. Probably doesn't need the household stuff till he finds where he's going to set down. Don't remember a lot about the Vegas seasons, only lived there a few months. Had a great time though. We lived in the converted pool house at the Warm Springs Ranch, on the outskirts of town then. That was about 1950, and the original Golden Nugget had a great Chef's salad that Mom and I would get as a special treat. The chef gave me his Thousand Island dressing recipe, which I still make. The town sure has changed since then.
Sarv, was the Dr. for medicine, philosophy, or 2X4'ology lol You aren't alone with that SAD malady, it spends a fair amount of time around this house too.
Oh Maria- that collage was beautiful (wish I could do it = but the mac won't load picasa) You were a hot skinny chick - oh in a bathing suit!! What a studly couple!!
Bal, I have that acid back up too - was much better after I had the gall bladder removed, but has returned with a vengence. I have the foot of my bed elevated and that does help some, but keep the tums by my bedstand. Glad new poochie has learned to sit for a treat!! I just noticed my naughty kitty going over to the neighbors. They told me she goes over and lays on their patio, looking into their house. They have a cat that is a real scaredy cat and won't come out as long as ours is there. Will need to go get her when I am done here.
M5- that BIL needs to be sent to tim buk too... Have fair amount of it in DH family (they call it mental illness) - I never have met such a bunch of miss fits- gotta go company just came over!!
Thanks, Sarv, still skinny, but quite a few more wrinkles :-((
and edited to say with lots of stretch marks on my tummy, you know where thaar came from LO

Maria - I love the photos; they are beautiful! Is that you and DH?
M5 - sorry to hear about all the BIL problems, but it sounds like DH needs to say "I love both of you, but I'm not getting involved." If BIL#1 wants his truck, he can go get it or report it to the police as stolen (technically, it was.) It seems as though BIL#1 has been burned before by #2 and knew what he was getting into.
Bal - you scared me
It happened again. 11:00 last night and 3:00 tthis morning.
I thought someone was in your room again!
Take care all!
Jody
Yes, it is Jody, the only man I have ever lived with for nearly 60 years, lol
Thanks for sharing them, Maria.
Jody
Maria...I LOVE that "When we were young" collage. When I saw it I went looking for my folder with all the "old" family photos in it. (I got lost and am still trying to fight my way back to reality. :-))
~julie~
glad you like them, Julie, you know I even have them of my great grand parents, they are so funny! But what is so nice I knew them all in person. Even m youngest daughter met her great, great grand mother, early marriages were custom in our family lol
I love old photos and think its so sad when I see them at yard sales and antiques shops. I have found photos with names on them and city where they were taken and tried to contact family members. I did this on ancestry.com once offering to purchase and ship the photos to any family members. I received a warning from the admin that I was breaking rules and my messages were deleted. Luckily, a man saw my post before it was deleted and contacted his friend who was the grandson of the woman in one of the photos.
Jody
Maria!!! Love the "When we were young" collage!
More later to everyone... my yard man is here to dig and p[ot plants I want to take with me!
That was so nice of you, Jody, perhaps you could use your own messenger to do this
or the newspaper of that city
Maria
Maria...they are BOTH lovely. But the "When" collage really took me away.
I've opened another NEW THREAD before we get carried away posting pics here. I'd like to keep them for the new thread so they're easier to download. I have a couple I want to post too. (If I can ever get my mind OUT of those folders! hehehe)
NEW THREAD

Tombaaks address is in the exchange. If you can't find it let me know I will Dmail it to you.
Wow, Maria. You are beautiful. Both then and now. Your collage of Autumn is one of the things that is drawing me to the east coast, I just don't think I could handle the snow all the way up there.
Bal try to lower the amount of dairy the closer to bed time. No carbonated drinks and avoid tomatoes, garlic, onion and citrus for at least 4 hours before bed. It wont make it go away but it will help reduce the severity of the attacks. And you wouldn't even reconize Las Vegas if you came by memory. It is nothing as it was even 10 years ago. We get an average of 2000 people moving here a month.
Meezer, I have heard that the only cure for BAD is a Vegas vacation. Come on down. I know how the BIL thing is, I have the SIL thing and it is pretty much the same except we get PMS and a hypocondriacs to boot.
Carat/Casey, there's a NEW THREAD
