DVD for son in Iraq

Our son in Iraq wrote they needed dvd's that maybe someone doesn't watch anymore. I thought someone here might have a few they would donate to them, I will be glad to send postage. I'm going to WM today and pick them up a few to send as we don't watch movies.

If anyone want to donate some, please let me know and I will get the postage out to you.

Howdy Yardbird!

Unfortunately we only recently bought a DVD player. (I think we own two DVD's, one that Melody sent me, and one we got two yrs ago as a Holiday gift!)

However, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for DVD's on sale when I'm out and about at stores and be glad to pick up some (if they look like good movies).

Did your son say what kind they preferred? (Classics? Comedies? Adventure, etc?)

Yes Yardbird my DVD's are all for a five year old but they have great deals at walmart if you give some titles maybe we can make a list divide it up and get the ones they need!

Shoe, he said they would watch anything, even TV reruns if anyone has these they would share. I saw some Friend's DVD this morning at Walmart while hunting some to send.

I think I got the entire first and second season dvd collection of Seinfeld for Christmas!

Sorry just checked it is the 3rd season 3 dvd collection never opened!

Ruth....I just posted on my FreeCycle group for DVD's and my moderator wrote back that she understood that some movies are not allowed in Iraq...ask Phile about this and give him a big HELLO from me. I will still try to collect some.

My DH and I just finished sending off 50+ DVD's to them and Bernie and his wife are just great folks. I'm sure they'll get your son's unit hooked up with some movies and some other stuff too :)

We beg DVD's all year long from our employees and their families and friends for the guys and gals overseas. Bernie & Kathy always get them delivered promptly!!

Do you know if the DVD players they'll be using are U.S. made? I only mention this because when I send DVD's to my friend in the UK, I have to make sure they're playable on European machines which have a different format. Our DVD's won't work on the European machines.

I'm sure they are the same. Read Dea's post above.

Hi Ruth, I've been meaning to post my support as well. All of our DVD's are in a box loaded in a trailer in the driveway. :( When I get a chance to get the boxes out next week, or get a chance to pick one up, I'll get back to you. :)
