A picture of mine. I love this brug. It even made it through the summer with only water since I was laid up and couldn't feed them.

A few facts about Tuffy ..........

She has a very strong aurea influence, even more than Whiskers.

Tuffy has beautiful prehistoric looking dark serrated leaves.

The aurea withstands heat much better than suaveolens and versicolor type hybrids.

Plus , she laughs at bugs

Blooms last 5 to 8 days for me and they stay fully open all day.

She perfumes my whole yard in the evening.

Vee8ch writes " Tuffy has been in bloom for seven continuous weeks and is still setting buds."

She has truly earned the right to be Named .

As soon as I can get all my paperwork in order Tuffy

will also be registered with ISHS ICRA ( International Cultivar Registry Authority for Brugmansia)

I'm not certain lack of pollen, this particular growing season, should be credited to any particular brug - none of mine have had the pollen they have had in the past. However, please take what I post with a grain of salt, 1) I'm a bit of a newbie, and 2) I'm an Arky...

Crumpler, WV

Vicki, I am waving my hands here for a cutting of "Tuffy". LOL

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Can you see me...over here...waving for a cutting of Tuffy, too. lol

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Congrats to all involved. Sounds like an incredible Brug - takes heat and hates bugs with looks and scent to spare!

That six point bloom was really neat. How rare are those? At the rate you all are going, I'm sure I'll be seeing more of them!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

6 pointers are not rare, they pop up once in a while on different brugs , usually when the blooming season is just starting.
;-)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)
