Food pantries

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Hi all, I'm new here.
This subject comes to mind every time my garden overloads me. This week it's apples.
Two years ago I had so many apples I couldn't give half of them away, not enough friends I guess.
So I called a local Food Pantry. They were enthusiastic about fresh fruit. I delivered about 50 pounds and got such big 'Thank Yous' I couldn't believe it. A couple of weeks ago I delivered a big bag of the last tomatoes. How many can you eat/store/give away?
Now the apple tree is doing it again and I thought I'd remind all of you, that if you have too much of something good, there are lots of places where it can be put to good use.
That first experience was so pleasant that I volunteered there for a while, during a slow work period.
Sure there are some people that wouldn't get off there butt to work for a living, but on the other hand there are those who just hit a slump and need a hand for a bit. The administrators can see this and those folks are really helped there.
So how is your harvest? Are you overloaded with something?
