Carpet spot cleaner

Can anyone recommend a good spot remover for my carpet? I've used all different kinds of things and not sure that any works that great.

I find that Folex works great. Spray it on, rub, let dry. Does not attract dirt afterward. Here is a link for finding a retailer http://www.folex.net/folex_retailers.html

Thanks George, that's actually what I'm using right now. I have used it for a while and do like it. I've never looked it up online tho, so I'll go to that site. I was just wondering if there was something better out there. I have used the Chem Dry cleaner and I liked it too.

I spot clean with Spot Shot.. It's the one with the big orange circle on the front of the can. It's some kind of magic, I think. ;) I spray it on, the spot disappears... I especially like that it took out all the old stains in my carpet. e.g. milk spots... when my daughter was little, the milk might dribble out of a sippy cup from time to time... If you don't catch each one when it happens (and who does?!) it turns brown. It browns because of the protein content... anyway, the SpotShot took all those little brown spots out. :) Hooray! And lots of other other assorted spots.

I steam clean with a heater on board model, with bissell liquid... it all keeps my carpet looking good, and being in an apartment, that's important to me. I want at least SOME of my deposit back! :) I was in my last apartment for 2 years. When I left, they didn't charge me anything for the carpet, and the manager said it looked better than when I moved it! LOL :) So, I must be doing something right!

Hope that helps!

Sarah, how did you know the reason I am cleaning up spots?! Those sippy cups, which we still use sometimes, leave spots all over!! I went ahead and bought more Fostex after looking at that website because it's water-based and you can use it on furniture, which I didn't know. (more milk spots!) I'm going to try this Spot Shot too tho on some spots that I think are the same spots, but they keep reappearing.

My carpet is just a few years old but it's not high quality. It still looks good tho, but it's a cream color which means I'm constantly cleaning it. I'm afraid to use the steam cleaners because I've always heard they shoot too much water underneath your carpet into the padding and then it's not sucked up. I've had it cleaned once by Chem Dry and I thought it looked pretty good. I'm just trying to avoid having to have the whole thing cleaned again until at least after Christmas.
