My sisters and my favorite niece and I went to the bahamas. It was my first time and I loved it!
It was HOT and the water was perfect and we were in between the hurricanes. I could live there no problem mon!!!
Here is a pic of us after we got off the cruise ship the first day. my niece is on my right and on my left is my favorite sis and partner in crime growing up!
wish i was still there as its cooling off here soon-but today is suppose to me 87 here in Michigan!!!!!
I love the HEAT!!!
i went to the bahamas
oh im the one in the middle!
Yes, but ....was John Mellencamp there? LOL
Glad you had a wonderful time. :) Kathy
Been down there three times, absolutely love it, so clean, such wonderful people, such nice cheap food at the market!!! Did you go to the gardens? Now I wanna go again!
Lucky you!! And Royal Caribbean is definately the way to travel. :) You look mahvelous!
Notmartha, what part of the Bahamas? We went to Nassau this year and last year the Grand Bahamas, Freeport. We just loved it. Haven't done the cruise ship, always just fly and have fun. We have gotten an all-inclusive deal, which the first year was air fare, hotel and 3 meals a day and drinks. This year, just hotel 3 meals and drinks. Still a great way to go. Love to shop at the straw markets. Think next year we are going to Beleze.
It is always a joy to see nice people sharing their trips.
There are some here that have hubbies refuse to travel (not mine) and they get a kick out of seeing the photos so keep them coming.
I myself have never been on a cruise but have been to the Bahamas more time that I can count. The endless stories there.....:)
But when my dear baby graduated from high school in 1995, 4 of us Moms sent the girls on a trip they will always remember. They took the big red boat on a Star Trek Convention. They were all Trekie fans.
The day after they left one of the girls won a drawing to have breakfast with Scottie. YES, Scottie was there. Scottie invited all 4 to join him and they eventually spent the trip together, parasailing, snorkling and Scottie spent some time with a magic marker signing their t-shirts.
I did hear my daughter shut her mouth for at least a month she was so happy with the cruise.
A themed cruise sounds to me the way to go. Too bad Delbert McClintons is book this year. That we would have gone on.
LOL No Johnny wasnt there-that would have been the icing on the cake!!! :)
meez-what gardens? I went to the beach and the shops didnt know there was a garden-but i just wanted to swim swim swim!!!!
defoecat---what part of the Bahamas--First stop was Nassau and then we went to royal caribbeans private island-Coco Cay
Dr Feelgood showed up on the beach with coconuts and RUM151 boy did i have a great time!!
We are planning a all-inclusive in mexico for next yr-might have to take DH with me next time!
The staff on the ship were all wonderful too-they all have name tags that tell what country they are from, its really cool to talk to them. They have to stay on the ship for 6months and then have 2months off before they have to return!
migul from peru was a DOLL in everyway, my younger sis on my left said the only way she would go on a cruise again is if she can bunk with Migul!!! LOL He was one of the guys taking pictures for the cruise line!!!
Oh id go back in a heartbeat!!!
Hey, Dori! You look so good, girl -- you and your sun-lightened, shiny hair. :) One of these days, Howie and I want to take a cruise. That's neat how they presented the photo in a collage (or did you do that?).
Dcat, we picked up a brochure at our hotel, that said there was a garden for visitors. You need to take a taxi there, and back, it was property donated by a wealthy couple. There are animals and fowl, wandering around, and some caged parrots etc. I'm trying to remember the name of it and it's too early for my brain to kick in...we enjoyed wandering around, and hitched a ride back with a couple instead of waiting for a cab. We also did the "swim with the dolphins" which was a real treat. I've taken a cruise, and I like the land based vacation much better.
Edited to add, it was the Rand Nature Center sheeesh
