MY PHILOSOPHY OF HOUSECLEANING!

I don't do windows because
I love birds and don't want one to run into a clean window and get hurt.

I don't wax floors because
I am terrified a guest will slip and get hurt then I'll feel terrible( plus they may sue me.)

I don't mind the dust bunnies because ..
They are very good company, I have named most of them, and they agree with everything I say.

I don't disturb cobwebs because .
I want every creature to have a home of their own.

I don't Spring Clean because ...
I love all the seasons and don't want the others to get jealous.

I don't pull weeds in the garden because ..
I don't want to get in God's way, he is an excellent designer.

I don't put things away because
I will never be able to find them again.

I don't do gourmet meals when I entertain because ...
I don't want my guests to stress out over what to make when they invite me over for dinner.

I don't iron because
I choose to believe them when they say "Permanent Press".

I don't stress much on anything because ...
"A Type" personalities die young and I want to stick around and become a wrinkled up sexy ol' woman!!!!

And mine is working fine,

I don't vaccuum because my "cat fur shag" carpet is now color coordinated to match my cats. The dust bunnies just blend in where they please.

I just turn the light down real low, sexy AND no one can see the dust/cobwebs/belly roll. LOL

not me gotta have everything spic and span clean as a whistle everything in it's place always!!!!

LOL no problem on my way to get it all done! I have been hired to organize and clean forever it seems! It is a natural gift LOL

I've heard of that, but haven't been out that way in years! Pretty area, I want to take the family to visit there someday, but I married a damn Yankee! LOL

I find that being too house proud can lead to too many disputes and then the kids think that mum will pick up everything after them. No thanks!

We live on a property and the kids and my husband think it is fine to waltz right on inside without even wiping their feet on the outdoor mat let alone the one inside the door. Some nights my husband comes in and says god the floors bad, and I say to him well you have two feet and two hands if you think it is that bad the vacuum has a power cord and you can beat yourself up if you like.

Kids are just as bad as the husband he drags in from the shed (metal shavings, oil, soot) the kids drag in dry grass, dry chicken feed in the soles of their shoes, it occurs to no-one to check their feet before they come inside the house. Sad but true. And when it rains well that makes the whole problem twice as bad.

I'm sure somewhere in the matrimonial contract it said: to clean, cook and slave over husband and children til death do us part. NOT! My husband is a great one for saying where are my socks, but if you look on his side of the bedroom you'll find everything he has had on all week in a lovely pile on the floor. I'm sure I brought the basket on wheels just for decoration. What I can't understand is why ask me where your clothes are if you wore them last, I didn't have them on.

Just put out all my fall decorations, they sure look nice, this is my favorite season!! I love the warm colors and earthy things, like nuts, leaves, corn. Have lots of scarecrows and crows, LOL. Noticed how bad the carpet looked next to them, decided to just rip it out. Peeked under it once, looks like previous homeowners used the wooden floors as a dropcloth for painting. My step-daughter, who channels magoobu, LOL, says she had same problem in her kid's room, she just used lots of chemicals on it and scrubbed real hard til paint came up. What do those words mean, LOL? Anybody here have suggestion for what to use on hardwood floors to get up latex paint? (I hope it's latex, or I'm you know what. LOL) I thought it must be permanent, since it's dried?? Signed, clueless about cleaning

PrairieGirlZ5, the hardwood floors in my old house had lots of paint spots on them. I just plopped down on the floor with steel wool (not the soap pads) and water and did a square foot at a time. Eventually the floor looked great.

What year did you start/finish? LOL For Pete's sake, that sounds like fun!! NOT Maybe I should wait until spring cleaning, and then actually do that (spring cleaning, I mean, tee hee).

Actually, we did it in a room 14 x 21 in about 2 weeks, persistently.

Now I know I'll just wait until spring to do THAT. But I'll try that then, except I'm afraid there are more than spots, well, we could always rent a sander if need be. Thanks for the tip.

get a little electric hand sander and sand it all off then wipe it clean and will have to stain or at least put a finish on top of it and the floors will look gorgeous!

Al righty then, I know I'll be busy from March to whenever!!
This is exactly why I hate house-cleaning, you never just do it and can say, doesn't it look good, we cleaned it back in '05 and except for some minor touching up, what a difference!

Cleaning, housework, laundry all the day to day stuff not to mention household repairs and upgrades are NEVER -ending! But I love the results LOL
