Mail problem

Vieques, PR(Zone 11)

All of a sudden (yesterday) my D mail instead of showing up in "mail" was showing up on the Home page.

After reading this mail it disappears not allowing me to save it into a folder, etc.

This is also happening with threads that I am participating in. Instead of it being on the top of "forums", it also is showing up on the home page.

I looked in preferences and did not see anything that would get it back to normal..:(

Does anyone have a clue as to why and how to get my mail arriving back into my mailbox and my threads back to forums?

New, unread mail shows up on your homepage along with your watched threads containing new posts. You should be able to see the read mail in your mail's inbox if you click on your Mail link. Hope that helps. :)

knotimpaired, have you set up any folders for your d-mail? I thought the same thing happened to me today, but then I realized it was a reply to a d-mail I had moved to a folder. Sure enough, it's there, with the reply attached.

Thanks

Terry,

I am still having the mail problem :(

I receive an D-mail on my home page and I click on my mail to see if it is there and it is not.

So when I open my new D-mail on my home page and read then leave it to attend to another D-mail or forum it disappears completely. It is not in my mail (and yes I have 2 folders set up, one for trades and the other general mail) or anywhere. Poof, it's gone.

The frustrating thing is I cannot carry a thread on the d-mails that mainly have to deal with trades. It is frustrating.

Any more thoughts that possibly may help?

Karen, is it possible you're viewing a cached copy of your mail homepage instead of the most recent version, which includes the newest mail? Try holding down the shift key while clicking the refresh button on your browser.

If that works, try clearing your browser's cache (it is under Tools > Options in most browsers) and then consider setting your browser to always check for an updated copy of pages you visit. That way you'll always see the current info.

Not absolutely certain that I'm 'following' what the supposed problem is .. but, I do know, that all of my 'DGmail' does indeed disappear .. once, I've taken even the slightest gander at it. Even if I don't reply/respond right away ...

But, this is the normal process/behavior for DGmail - for then, it is no longer a 'new' DGmail awaiting to be 'read' ...

And, any threads that you are partaking in .. will disappear also .. UNLESS, you click the option to 'Watch Thread' .. Again, all a part of the normal behavior for the DG forums and threads ...

Hope this has hep'd jes a wee bit .. If not, jes hope that no harm is considered done .. lol

(hopin' ya figger it out soon)

Maggie,

I hope I will too.

It took forever to figure out how to do my journal.

But I do adore this board so I will work it out.

Thanks :))

Just a guess - are you running a firewall (ZoneAlarm or something similar?) If so, you may need to adjust the settings to accept cookies. Please let me know if you are or aren't - and if you are and need some help, I'd be happy to share some tips ;o)

I run Norton 24/7.

Today everything seems to be in its appropriate place. Hence I am not getting the option of getting my mail in box my d-mailbox and my home page.

This helps because I have gotten into the habit of printing all of my mail so I can refer back to it.

Now (at least for now) I can read it and save it to the box so I can refer back to it.

I am keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way.

Thanks for following up on this.

Okay, it sounds like you may have made an adjustment to your homepage layout, which is where you decide what you want to appear when you click on "Home"

1) Click on "My Info"
2) Select "Manage your preferences"
3) Look for the "module" called "Personal Mail" - next to it should be a column and position number. (If it says "disabled" that would explain why it's not showing up on your home page.) If so, change it to wherever you'd like it to appear - left or right, and near the top or after your list of "favorite forums."
4) Repeat step 3 for "Thread Watcher" and if it's disabled, decide where you want it to appear.

Please let me know if that works, or if you still don't see new mail (I can always send you a test message to see if it's working properly, after you go through those steps.)

Thanks,

I will let you know what happens.
