Annie's Annuals Fall Party & 30% off til 12/31/2005

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Come to think of it, that just might work. If you grab everything, everyone else's checking account will be safe. What a great humanitarian you are, Pudgy, to perform this public service.

ROFLMBO!!!!! HEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!!! You guys are just TOOOO funny!!!!

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh Zuzu, you are GOOD! lol

Tell me, you wise people, is it better to plant any new perennials I get in the ground or overwinter them and plant them in the Spring?

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

I would think whatever she has now would be good to plant now as Fall is our best season! And at Annie's they will be the best to advise!
I can't wait!

Annie's website, and the flyer I got from her yesterday, says to plant NOW so that the roots get a good headstart and the plant is ready to go come spring. See: http://www.anniesannuals.com/special_pgs/eblasts/050826/fallplanting.asp

Thanks, I just went and read that thread & it is really informative.

hanna1 won't be able to go to Annie's after all. Her DH's father passed away today. So very sad, even though he wasn't at all well.

She sends her apologies and well wishes. PotEmUp is going to pick up your chair from her, Donna. See you in the a.m.!

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh no! She had said he was ill. What a sad day for them.
Thank you for letting us know Marilyn.

San Lorenzo, CA

Just wondering if any of you have any money left.

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

I was good. I only bought 9 plants. But I live only a few minutes from Annie's and can drop by anytime. So my money will probably go out in dribs and drabs. LOL

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

I have no self control and my wife is an enabler. Let's just say that 30% discount saved me a fair amount of money. And of course you can't just buy one specimen plant, you have to put them out in groups of at least 3.
Annie has some planting beds around the edges of her growing tables. This gives you views of full grown plants that, of course, you then have to hunt out on the grounds.
I may need to move, I am beginning to run out of bare dirt.

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

I did not do too bad. I got 18 plants & spent just over $50. I expected to get more but she was out of some things. There were so many people there that I am surprised there was as much left as there was! Some of her large mother plant pots were stunners & of course most were sold out, but seeing the actual plant is a real selling tool. Thanks for the links George, I was able to get seeds to alot of the plants I could not get. :~)
Annie is just the nicest gal. And don't even get me started on the food! LOL I broke my no sugar rule and inhaled some cake & a cookie. YUM!

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks all for thinking of me! I thought of you having so much fun, and I was glad! There's always the Spring sale!!!!
See you all there!!
Annie

Just in case it was not clear, the discount is valid through the end of the year. No coupon necessary.

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Uh-oh, George! Sounds like you may be the cause of a lot of last minute fall planting in the area! I hope you all had a blast! I haven't been to Annie's YET, but I drool over her sight every now and then. Maybe in spring...

George, thank you again for your generosity. My daughter is enraptured with her Hibiscus from the round up. Thanks to you, I may make a gardener out of her yet!

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Angela, I was impressed with the enthusiasm your daughter was exhibiting. Anything that can create a passion in the youth (other than TV) is just wonderful. If she ever wants more hibiscus, I am happy to supply. She may learn of the failures experienced in over wintering these young plants. She may also enjoy browsing Annie's plant signs.
For anyone that is not aware of Annie Hayes, she was featured in Sunset magazine http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1216/is_4_214/ai_n13499879 and a nice article in our local newspaper http://www.insidebayarea.com/search/ci_3058681
