I enjoy seeing where people place their plants. And would like so see where people keep their hoyas especially. Being in Florida my hoyas are mostly outside year round. And I know a lot of you grow amazing hoyas indoors. So please add some pics of your hoya homes. This could be fun.
Ric
Hoyas all over the place.
Sigh...Ric I guess I need to get that SUV after all and make a house call. I do have a niece in Jacksonville, I could always pretend I want to visit her...how far are you from Jacksonville:-)???
Beautiful plants and your potting area looks great compared to mine:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
Wow...what an ORganized potting area!!!! Mine always looks like the aftermath of a vicious battle!
Let me get the pictures done and I will post mine ....
Looking forward to seeing everyones' hoyas growing...even in the bathrooms!!! (dust first, pleast!!! LOL)
Carol
Oh what nice place you have there!!
So beautiful hoyas...
I especially loved the sunbed.....nice to lay down there and smell all the hoyas......
Here in Sweden its freezing cold outside!
Maria
Ric, great pictures, it is really nice to see how everyone is growing their hoyas. I wouldn't think you really need a greenhouse. It sure is green everywhere. I don't have that advantage here in the desert of Las Vegas, so all my babies are growing indoors. Window space in my house is prime real estate. I am going to have to start getting lighting set up somehow, as there just isn't enough windows. Deb
Ric, your yard and garden are as enchanting as ever! It looks totally spectacular plus warm and inviting. You have done an amazing job since moving to that property!
Deb, you get the prize for the most organized Hoya collector. I LOVE your obelisks as well as your other displays. Your collection is absolutely beautiful as is your home.
Thanks to both of you for sharing your little pieces of paradise.
I'll post my indoor jungle as soon as I get the rest of the flora moved inside.
Ric, your hoyas look great and you must spend a lot of time watering!.....I couldnt even imagine having plants outdoors all year long.....what a treat that would be..
Deb, I love the Obelisks and suction cups for the vines...thats a great idea....good deal on the obelisks too!....
here are a couple pics below of some hoyas i have indoors..nothing compared to the pics i see everyone post all the time.....as Deb said above, real estate around the windows is never enough!..
here are couple hoyas in my living room window....
Ew la la, After I hit Awandas, then I can jump in the SUV with her, raid Ric and then a round about trip over to Vegas. Awanda maybe a uhaul would be in order. Hmmm. It would be wonderful to be able to keep them outside all the time. Beside Ric, how do you provide humidity outside? July & August we have high humidity from the monsoons, but other than that dry dry dry...
:0 wow Sandy130 nice and green.. They are loving the sunshine... Your Bella is very pretty. Hey Carol she dusted too.... :)
Wow this is great.........I love it!. So many neat looking hoyas indoors.
Awanda.....I like the SUV Idea. You are more then welcome to stop by and bring your niece along she can help you carry hoyas.
Cafrol........always looking forward to seeing some more pictures of your jungle.
Deb and Sandy..........you have showroom hoyas........so healthy and lush. They look like they have round the clock care. I don't have a single hoya indoors. But I think I might try bringing in a few.
Thanks Mel and Sandy. Looking forward to seeing your hoya palaces.
thanks Tami.....the question is, will ms. bella stay nice and green through winter..lol....and i cheat with dusting, I just didnt show any close ups....
With all your hoyas outside Ric, i am surprised you dont have any indoors....I guess when you have such good growing condition outdoors, they dont need to come in!...

Would you mind swingin' by Central Illinois and picking me up for this road trip?!?! I WANNA GO TOOO!
ALL of you have absolutely WONDERFUL hoya pictures! I am envious. I was going to say "If you show me yours, I'll show you mine" (tee hee) but after seeing what you guys got....NO WAY! I'd be embarassed with my 3 or 4 plants. LOL
If any of you ever are interested in trading cutting for, say, African Violets.....or some stapelias.....let me know!
Betsy
Surrounded by paradise. All of your growing environments look perfect. I'm definitely taking notes! I'll try to post some pictures of my hoyas homes. I definitely could be in trouble with them as tenants, over-crowding. Gosh, I can be such a slumlord!
Heather
Ric,
Who takes care of your plants when you are in Boston?
Do you need a plant sitter? LOL Now, your arrangement is a lot like mine is inside, pots everywhere and hanging from each during the winter.
Deb, I love the obelisks. What a find.!
Karen
Do you realize how hard it's been to not look here...lol. I knew I was going to be drooling again and creating a tidal wave. Everyone's hoya's and setup are awesome! Ric I'm definitely going to have to come and visit you next year when I come down. Deb, I luv your obelisk! What a steal!!! Sandy yours are huge and healthy and perfect where you have them. Heather I know what you mean about being squished together! That's what is happening to mine. Karen what a neat temporary home. I was wondering about the straw..lol.
:) Donna
Thanks Donna and Susan......I wish the bella would of bloomed more for me...it got its first dose of Eleanor's VF11 so maybe that will help things along...lol....
Sandy
Obviously the judges needed to have the prescriptions on their eyeglasses checked. The DS-70 looks gorgeous to me! Mrs. G and a goldfish, hmmm, something fishy going on!
Heather
I was amazed, too, at the way the judges placed the plants.
I guess they figured there were more blooms on the gold fish then on Ms. G. The gold fish plant in the foreground got 1st. I felt bad leaving Ms. G at the fair grounds and was worried about her! LOL . The nights got down into the 40's and there was no heat there. She came out like a trooper though!! Which just goes to show, hoyas can take abuse. There wasn't a category for hoyas and I had to enter her in the flowering hanging plant category.
Wow, Karen, they're nice looking! I see the philodendron has to sit on the floor!:-)
What do your office mates say about your plants? My cubicle is loaded with them with no natural light relying on fluorescents. People don't really say anything about them anymore, just stare kinda wide-eyed, unbelieving:-). I actually think they give off good, peaceful vibes.
Susan
Nice hoyas Karen....all neat and perfect looking...you guys are lucky you can have hoyas at 2 locations, at your home and work!.....
Sandy
What nice office plants, Karen! I only have a couple Hoyas in the office right now, but, plan on moving more in as the outside growing season expires. Your plants look great!
Susan, I bet you are the hit of cubicle land! If I could find a place for all those pesky files that get in my way, I could put in many more plants!!!
Thanks, I'm lucky not to have office mates (except my daughter who comes after school). When my sister saw my office she said, "Oh K, this is SOOOOO you!" LOL Plants on every flat surface.....and then some. (check out the pic below, taken in March ...they've grown so much in just 6 months!!!) The philo is actually sitting on a table under the window. Out of the 40 plants in my office, 16 are Hoyas. I have a similar ratio at home, but more plants.....of course (more flat surfaces)! All of the Hoyas in the 5" pots were cuttings I received from some of the lovely sharing Hoyaholics right here on this forum! Thanks Hoya-buddies!
Karen :~D
Karen,
I like your office!! Can I work there? LOL I have plants in mine but no hoyas. My office is just to small to put many plants in. I like all your windows.
Karen
