I am a female.

Married six years and counting... :)
I like houseplants, especially African Violets. But we just moved and have more property now-- so I have a LOT to learn about outdoor gardening!! I'm glad I have DG to help. By the way, you daylily fans: I think I have a daylily on the Identification forum. Am I right?? http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/543398/
Thanks,
Dana

Age = 46
Location = Memphis, TN
Marital Status = Married 24 years - 25 next June!
I love animals - but especially cats (have 5). I love to garden and am learning so much here at DG. I also am very artsy. I do stained glass, mosaics, knitting, crochet, and most recently I'm learning how to make glass beads. I grew up with crafter parents - and have done just about every craft out there at one time or another. I also love decorating and always have some project going in the house.
Marcia ;-)
Gender-Female last I checked
Age-old enough to be over 50 by three
Location-my farm outside of Payette Idaho which is right next to the Oregon border
Marital status-married 31 years on the 24th of Sept. We still like each other too!
I am an animal junkie with dogs (six on the property), cats (2), sheep (56 including lambs and ram), horse (1), DH (1), and DS (1).
My gardening consists mostly of shade gardening with mainly hostas but I do have a desire for nice daylilies and I have three ponds with tons of pond plants and about thirty different water lilies.
I love to cook but hate to clean house. I would rather clean a barn because the animals are so appreciative of their new abode. When I clean the house the men come in and set things down all over the house and go off to do their own projects. lol

Have always loved flowers, but just started perennials last year. Have two cats, five birds, and two granddogs - one each at DS and DD's homes. There is usually some kind of home improvement project (or several) going on with greenhouse topping the list right now! Also do a lot of sewing, mostly for other folks :-)

ginni - female (spayed)
56 - and hope to follow my Mom's path - she's almost 93 and sharp as a tack!!!
Married 5 years to the soulmate I had searched for all of my adult life and finally found.
Live in Northeast MS - born and raised in the area.
I love my husband, my pets (currently 4 cats, 3 dogs) my home, my gardens, my ponds and lake and the fish therein, the birds at the feeders and everything about my life - well, could use a little more money, but don't need it enough to return to work to make it just yet!
I enjoy a large variety of crafts (I design and make our Christmas cars each year), and being a part of the nature scene that surrounds my home (which is a log cabin with a 1/2 mile long driveway winding through the woods). Nursery rhymes, children's stories and music and reading anything. (The books in the pic are ones that Mom read to me years ago and I still read them! And my Mom made the dolls.)
That is only a start, but gives you a little idea of who I am.
ginni
ps - I LOVE DG!!

this month I'll celebrate the fourth anniversary of my 50th yr
born and raised here in Northern CA
My favorite flower is too hard of a questions (!) but pansies would be near the top of the list. I have a bull mastiff, two cats, and 22 Koi. enjoy making stained glass projects, reading, and hiking the grand canyon.
My husband retired 3 yr ago. I was a stay at home mom until the boys left home, then worked for a fire dept; when steve retired I did too.

(Did anyone see the Home Improvement episode where Tim and his wife get lost going to a wedding and end up in North Adams?! A little blip on the map)
Single- But have a wonderful boyfriend Greg
I have been a hairdresser for 10 years and bought the salon I started working at out of beauty school 4 years ago. The first 2 years were very busy and stressful and that's when I found gardening, it has truly been my saving grace! Since all of my beds are fairly new I haven't had a great abundance of flowers yet, but by next year I am hoping to see lots of blooms. I love this web site for the wonderful people and all the things I have learned in the past few months, which is why I am amending all my sandy, sandy soil this fall (wish I would have found this site 2 years ago !!)
I have 1 CRAZY cat named Tallie, I meant oh cute kitty kitty!! She is def. a wackjob but keeps things pretty eventful around here.
I love to read when I am not gardening, spending time with my family and boyfriend, playing softball, and doing crafty things.
Haven't decided which flowers I like best, so far I just like them all !!
Joan = female
I'm 44, and have been married to my soul mate for 12 years. This is a second marriage for both of us, and between us we have 5 kids. Three girls and two boys. They are 23, 22, 21,19 and 17. When we first got married we were the typical Brady Bunch. LOL
We live on 5 acres, and just built our house in 2002. My favorite flower is pink roses.
I have a full time job, but in the summer time I work in my yard most of my free time, golf sometimes, and camp out here on DG a lot. In the winter I enjoy many crafty things like sewing, scrapbooking and beading, (in addition to camping here on DG).
Hello I am a Female
I am 33 no wait 34..or was it 33..well one of the two
I was born and raised in southeast Ohio and moved to North Carolina March of '97
I have been married to a wonderful guy named Jerry since Feb 1993. And I have two wonderful daughters Amanda (mandi) is 11 and Faith is 9.
I know alot of you will crinkle your nose when you find out what i like to do LOL however i love to clean...yes sometimes it does get tiring however 95% of the time you can find me cleaning my house, yard or on occasion someone else's. If I get mad...I clean, If I am sad I clean and so on..i just love to clean and love the look of a clean house .....
Hope you all have a wonderful day,
Char.....aka the clean freak...hehehe
Someone has to like to clean, and I'm glad there are a few out there. I like to clean the kitchen, but the rest of my house I like to be in a state of sanitary clutter. Though I am a bit of a contradiction, my bookshelves are organized by authors name and series, my spices are alphabetical, and my coffee table is covered in piles of whatever my current project is (right now cross stitch equipment and gardening books).
Female, pushing reluctantly towards 70 but terminally immature, zone 5, southeastern Wisconsin, married 19 years to a car nut (we have more garage than living space) and share quarters with four siamese cats who are spoiled beyond reason. I love gardening, reading, finding plant bargains, feeding the birds, annoying the cats, DG, just getting into day lilies, but roses are so special, I have cat objects all over the house, and dust bunnies under the furniture.
Red Princess, please come for a visit as soon as possible. You won't be bored!! I have an abundant supply of unused cleaning products, three vacuum cleaners, and lots of windows.
Female
47 (for 8 more days, anyway)
Northwest Ohio
Married (30 years this August!)
On the cleaning subject...I'm a Perfectionist Messie. If it can't be all clean at once, why bother? LOL.
I am 44 years old, but I've been telling everyone "29" for so long I'm shocked when I realize how old I really am! I live in a small town - Merrimac, Wisconsin (just over 400 people here.) My husband and I have been married for 26 years, and our adult son and daughter both live at home and work with the family business. (Actually, our daughter is away on a year-long mission trip.) We have eight cats and one Golden Retreiver. Besides gardening, I also enjoy reading and crafts and have a "pile" of whatever I'm working on nearby. Char.....aka the clean freak, you really need to come visit me too!
Jody ;-)
Female age 62, but I feel younger. My second marriage and this time am working on 16 years.
Home is a farm in Nashville, TN.
I am an artist, quilter, potter, gardener, gourmet cook. Three wonderful, children and four beautiful grandchildren. Four Dogs, two Cats, a Horse and a spoiled pet Peacock.
As for cleaning, I love a clean house, as long as I don't have to do the work. I think I'll go sit on the porch and prop up my feet.
Sorry to interrupt the thread, but I'm thinking we should plan a little vacation for Char - sort of a round robin where we could pass her along!! I'm thinking she could stay with me for, oh, if she cleans fast a couple months should do it. LOL
Sharon
Bless your heart Sharon what a thoughtful thing do do for Char... That is a great idea...I have a spare bedroom.
Char, You may have to dust off the furniture and maybe clean the windows and maybe wax the floor, but you would love it wouldn't you? You can stay with us until at least the first of the year.
Betty
LMBO...you guys are all so very kind and considerate for thinking of me. I dont know when I can make it to you alls house since my 2 girls and hubby are such PIGS...Don't get me wrong I love to clean and will till the end of time..but i get upset when someone messes up a room that i just got done making it perfect.
Have a good day everyone ,
Char
zhinu,
I also alphabetize my spices and canned goods (and, by the way, all labels must be facing forward!) My books - when on the bookshelf - are also arranged accordingly. And the clothes that make it to the closet, are hanging by type of clothing first (blouses, skirts, etc.); short sleeve to long sorted by color.
Maybe that's why we never finish cleaning!
Jody
OK...I must admit. I too alphabetize my spices...Clothes are hung in closet by color. Even the pantry shelves are labeled... Pity the poor soul who puts a can of peas on the Pear shelf. LOL... Books are arranged by subject and then alphabetized.
Betty
I alphabetize my videos. Books are strictly by subject. My subjects blend together, so there's a good continuum going-- no need to alphebetize and I can still walk up to exactly the book I'm looking for. I'm very precise with some things, but others are more haphazard, like the clothes in my closet and my spices. :)

Love any plant that should be growing in zone 8 and up (for 9 months of the year the windows can't be seen and the oxygen level inside sky rockets ;).
I work at reference desk (22 years now in the library system) ...... my own books aren't in alphabetical, dewey decimal, ISBN, or Library of Congress order. It's wonderful being a rebel. ;)
