Where are we?

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Google has a new "software" at http://earth.google.com/ You have to download and install on your computer, but the images are trully mind boggling. You can actually get sick from too much panning and zooming at a location. This probably will be a real load for anyone that has a dial up modem, but with quicker connections it is really amazing. The image here is of Manhattan.

Another cool site [HYPERLINK@terraserver.microsoft.com] that you put the address into and it gives an aerial shot of any US location. They just started the color ones last year, so they are only for larger urban areas. The rest of the country is in black & white (for now.) Another similar site is [HYPERLINK@maps.google.com] - click Satellite in the middle box of the 3 at the top right of the map. the resolution is not quite as good, put it has some other really cool features, like click on the view and drag it left, right & center.

that is so cool, wish i had broadband

could you find a picture of where i live?

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Hello Pot!

Sorry to disappoint you, but I have no clue what part of Santiago this could be. Because of the absence of tall buildings I would guess it's either north or west sides (old parts of the city).

I have dial-up system - broad band is too expensive.

Hugs,

Ursula

Ursula, it is SW of a major roadway overcrossing. Looks sort of like tennis courts as part of a University setting. It is in the upper center of this area.
