vonny53--I have Dr Suess and Frosty Pink, I may have Sunray available as well. So far I have offered Sunray as trades for things and gotten no response as far as I know so as of right now I have one available. If you want it, it will be spoken for by you regardless of any response asking for it afterwards. My policy is first come first served. I AM keeping track of who is getting what so I will have no confusion at any time. I will have LOTS of Dr Suess this year. Have two 6 foot stalks cut up into cuttings so far and rooting but have three more 6 foot stalks to cut later. Saving some for the last flush which is getting ready to bloom.
Cuttings I will have come the end of October or sooner.....
sent out postage today so should have it in a few days. Marie
Bonnie,
I'm on my way to the post office with your Creamsickle.
Bonnie,I dont' have any for trade right now. Thanks Yvonne
Trades are NOT required. Postage is fine. I have Paypal even.
Bonnie
The only Brugs left available for trade/postage are Frosty Pink and Dr Suess--which I will have LOTS and LOTS of even after all these trades are settled. Anyone else want one or one of each??
Bonnie
I'll take one of Dr Suess :)

For those who are sooo curious why someone would want some many kinds of Brugs--I will grow all the ones I accumulate this Fall for a year or two then weed out and trade/give away any I decide I don't like. I am collecting them because I love them so much. I never really have had anything nice in my life so why not. Since I will have soooooo many I MIGHT start selling cuttings on ebay next year or something--there are NO jobs here and I have need of income!! But starting a business--even a small minority one--seems like quite an undertaking and not something I will ever just jump into. Anyway, every year I will offer cuttings here for trade or SASE like usual. If I sell to anyone from here it will be via ebay or something--not directly on this site. I am soooo grateful for this wonderful site and all the extremely generous people here and would never take advantage of the goodness of people's hearts here!! I don't believe in getting rich at other people's expense anyway--not in the way of overcharging as so many do these days. Makes it so only the well to do can afford even basic necessities--it seems to me?!!
Thanks to all traders for the wonderful trades this year and in the past couple of years since found this great site!! Thanks Dave for providing a site that is so user friendly and comfortable to visit daily!! Bonnie
Hi Bonnie,
what a wonderful hobby :-))) like me with Daylilies and roses. One can get carried away but it is so much fun to see things grow.
I just posted pictures of my very first brugmansia within the last hour and run across your thread about cuttings for postage.Do You still have some available ? Would love to have some if so ,especially the Frosty pink,Tahitian Wedding Bells or Fantasma.
Please let me know and GOOD LUCK in your new business adventure,
Brigitte
I still have Frosty Pink--but Tahitian Wedding Bells x unk seedling cuttings are gone and the Fantasma (Shredded White) are gone too. I do have extra cuttings from these trades of Herrenhauser Garten and Golfito and maybe still one of Sunray. LMK!! Postage $5 for 1. Bonnie
Bonnie,
I forgot ..You did say cuttings, right ? are they rooted and how big are those ?
Would be interested and I would like to try my hand with
1.) Herrenhauser Garten
2.) Golfito
I am sorry I am so inquisitive about these but I am new with Brugmansia's and I don't want to fail.
Thank You,
Brigitte
Those two I just got as unrooted cuttings but I can certainly root them first--they are in water as we speak!! How big are they--couldn't tell you right now, I am at the public library. Will have to measure and get back to you but they are not the tiniest cuttings I ever saw nor are they as large as my Dr Suess and Frosty Pink cuttings which are woody cuttings for the most part. These are more the green, fleshy type but not the skinny pieces. They will need about 2-3 weeks to root. By the time I get your postage they might be ready or shortly there after!! Bonnie
My address is in the Address Exchange!!
(By the way, I crochet too--usually in Winter when it is cooler. Make afghans, doilies, potholders, etc.)
Bonnie just checking in to see if postage got there yet. seems the mail lately has been really slow.
Servants_heart, are you using a bubbler?? If not, if you are so inclined, a bubbler will speed up the rooting process - until I found the bubbler, I was a terrible rooter, lol, I was really bad (except in the ground). I couldn't root in water, but the bubbler cured all that. Please send photos of your afghans, etc. I crochet too and have always loved it and some of the new colors and kinds of yarn is really nice. Also, I'm looking for a light weight, scarf to use with a new 'cheap' jacket. Have you ever crocheted a belt?? I want to figure out a way to 'cover' a black belt with crochet, have you ever done that??? Even if I have to slip a crocheted 'sock' over a purchased belt, it will work...I always love seeing stuff in addition to brugs and flowers that many DG subscribers design and make...
I've heard talk about this bubbler. What is it exactly and where can they be purchase? Thanks . Yvonne
I have tried a bubbler--using a small sandstone from my a small fish aquarium (like you might keep a couple goldfish or an angelfish in) and to me it does nothing to spead it up. Some Brugs simply root faster than others. My Dr Suess roots probably the fastest. So far Butterfly is the slowest of the ones I have been attempting to root for the last month!! Still no roots on that one--bumps but no roots!!
imzadi--I got your MO. Had to do laundry this am then come here (to the library to check mails etc--as I have been unemployed since early July and there are next to NO jobs here and we cannot afford Internet until I finally find a job) so will mail your stuff tomorrow along with a couple others.
SherryLike--I cannot show you photos because I am stuck using public library computer for Internet stuff. My computer at home has no floppy drive, these have cd drive but that would mean I have to find a way to get my photos from my floppies at home onto a cd to bring here......lot of effort. Plus this library BLOCKS most sites so I cannot even go to the photo storage sites where my photos are!! I have to remember those addresses--my old computer crashed in Jan and we bought the new one while I was working at a temp position--lasted just long enough to pay for the computer!! Urghhhhh!! As for crocheting a belt, I have never done so, but seems it would be easy enough or a cover either one?? Where there is a will, there normally is a way! hehehe
vonny53--I do not know what other people use but I have used a small sandstone from fish aquarium--you know, it is attached to a small air compressor sort of thing. Maybe someone else we tell us what they use??!!
Bonnie
Bonnie,
I received my big fat cutting of Dr. Seuss. I was happy it arrived in good condition given our 3 digit temperatures. Thank you.
Veronica
Hello Bonnie.
My, your kind offer has certainly been popular! Would you happen to have an extra Dr. Seuss cutting and an extra Frosty Pink cutting for me for postage? I am a complete Brug novice and don't yet have anything to trade.
I'll send you a Dmail.
Regards,
Erick
I would not dare use a bubbler. The only time I rooted cuttings in water-I got TADPOLES! Might get the whole swamp if I aerated it Lol!
Thank you all for reminding me it is time to get afghan makings out now that the evenings are below 80 degrees.
Frog thats cute..I was thinking of one time you looking down into that bucket and have frogs jumping up at you...too funny....Judy
Good morning Bonnie,
Our daughter with children was here this past weekend,we were gone the whole day.Yesterday cleaned house,so not much time on the PC,just a minute here and there.

So far you are rooting for me
1.) Herrenhauser garten

Dave--the option to close this thread doesn't seem to be available even though I am the one who started this thread. Help?? Bonnie
Bonnie....I don't think there's a 'close this thread' option here on the Brugmansia forum, but there is on the Trading forum.
Just FYI....I'm pretty sure that ilovejesus99 got hit by Hurricane Rita.
Just make closed across the top of your original post on this thread.
Will look for mine in the mail Bonnie. I'll let you know. Probably wont be here til mon. Thanks Yvonne

Hi Bonnie, I received my Brugs today. They look great!! Got them in water for now and they were already rooted. Can you tell me what kinds you sent? One is real fat. Thanks again. Yvonne
vonny53--If you look on the stems you should see what is what since I DID write that on them!! The really fat one I am SURE is Dr Suess!! Bonnie
My Dr. Suess has 4 areas that are putting out pretty green leaves and a couple very tiny roots are peeking through. That is one huge cutting! I hope it doesn't mind getting babied all winter long. -Emily
Brug cuttings often start growing right away as they are growing new roots, etc. It is normal, but also normal for them to go dormant over winter. They do not need to be watered but once a week or so--when soil looks dry. Start to fertilize and increase watering in early Spring as temps start to warm!! Glad you are enjoying your cutting so much!! : )
Bonnie
I will be going away in a couple weeks to do some truck driver training so those (most of you) who have yet to mail my end of our trades need to do so before Oct 20th or after Nov 10th. Thanks!! DH has no clue and I would find them all dead upon my return if they come while I am gone!! It is my aim and goal to mail out the remainder of trades that I owe before I leave.
Bonnie
