It would be nice

to be able to see someones local time. Then I could have an idea whether or not they might see my post or if I should just go to bed and check in the mrning.

Ulrich, see if you can talk Dave into doing this.

Just save this in your "Favorites": http://www.time.gov/

There are a zillion more; just do a search for "Time Zones".
That's the beauty of having the Internet.

Ulrich, you are a spoil sport, I wanted to click on something on Daves's and just have it pop up. I am too lazy to go figuring out which area is a particular country and then if there is more than one time zone deciding which one the person lives in. The information is all stored when we set up our preferences so it should be easy.

I'm just a whiner and don't want to think.

Me, too, George! A little notation somewhere on our member pages would be nice. I know the tools are out there, but sometimes it would be handy to quickly see the poster's local time.

Hope it work...

George, I've added the feature!! You can now find a member's time by just clicking on their name and viewing their member page.

Now, it might not always be correct since it's relying on the information that the member setup in their preferences.

Dave to the rescue. And here I was thinking (cynically) this request was just a way to figure out WHERE in the world it's 5:00...because as the song goes, it's always 5:00 somewhere ;o)

(Zone 5b)

nice!

Thanks Dave. We really have it all here!

Awesome! How cool is that?? One minor tweak request, Dave...Would it be possible for the current date to be inserted next to the time? For some time zones, the date will be different.

GW not much point when the time isn't always accurate, the time on my page isn't so the date could well be out too.

Well, the time on the server is always accurate within 2 seconds of whatever the actual time really is. I sync the server every hour.

If it's showing the wrong time for you, Baa, then check your Timezone preferences and see what that says.

dave

Thanks Dave, it's on GMT which would explain it :)
