Two features added that I just noticed!

Atascadero, CA(Zone 8a)

I read the request for one of these, evidently buried in a thread of another title, but just came across it when emailing: Ability to save a Draft of an email. This is not usually a big deal, but life happens and you get interrupted in the middle of stuff.

Second: When posting a reply to a thread: When you preview it, if someone has replied in the mean time, a red blurb is at the top of your preview, telling you that someone has posted while you were composing. Again, not a big deal, but handy if you're carrying on a conversation and not just inputting info.

These may have been here for awhile, but I was on vacation and hadn't run across them yet. Thanks so much for the small stuff that makes it a pleasure to be here. 8-) Janet

They're both pretty new - the drafts feature probably occurred while you were on vacation, but I *think* the "new post alert" is brand-spankin' new ;o)

Yes, the new post alert is a new undocumented feature that Paul suggested to me. Great idea!

Dave that is going to be SOOOO useful to those of us who type slow and long. Thanks!!

Muscoda, WI(Zone 4b)

I have to add my applause for the 'Post Alert' too!
Applause

Applause!!!
(I'm notorius for posting and not checking to see if anyone else was posting at the same time.)

Thanks Dave!

I haven't come across the 'Post Alert' yet but I think it is a wonderful feature!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I only caught a glimpse of it when I was replying to a helpdesk message yesterday. I'm either a really short-n-sweet poster or I don't post frequently enough...or maybe I'm just not posting to the most active threads - who knows? *grin*

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Well, I just cross-posted on a thread and the warning never showed...

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I think it displays only if you hit "preview" first....

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Ah, yes, I was going to say the same thing. I've been cross posting all day and never saw an alert. I don't usually do the preview thing unless I'm loading a photo, but will keep this new option in mind.

Thanks Dave.

Molly

I'd say it'll be pretty rare to see the alert. In reality, it's not terribly often that someone else posts something while you are composing a reply to the thread. But, in those cases (and they happen to me at least once a month) this is a handy alert and very noticable!

Dave you would be surprised all the x-posting going on in the morning at the GOBS thread. You know how koffee klatching is.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Great feature - yup, happens all the time during morning coffee -- now we just have to remember to hit PREVIEW first. :) I usually only preview for pics also.

Irving (Dallas area), TX(Zone 8a)

BTW, I didn't actually come up with the idea, I just noticed it on the latest development version of phpBB and suggested to Dave that it might be nice to have it here. He programmed it in just like that! Having your own forum program has its advantages, huh, Dave?

It sure does.

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

Great idea! I haven't run across the cross-posting alert yet, but I've certianly had it happen more than once. It will cut down on some awkwardness. :)

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

I did! I did!

What a neat surprise! "While you were typing your reply, a new post was made to this thread! Make sure you read the new post above your new one!"

Great feature! Thanks, Dave!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Me too, I jsut saw mine for the first time this morning. And you can't miss it!!!! No excuses now.

:^)))))

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

The cross posting alert is great! It was really useful on the hurricane Katrina thread yesterday and today. I didn't even have to hit "preview", just "send" and it came up. Thanks Dave, you're taking "user friendly" to a whole new level!
