OH, what a cutie !! Is he normal though?? Isn't his Sharpei a little bit long??? It looks like it is about equal to 1/2 of his body size !!!!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Is he normal? I sure hope not. I hope he is a real weirdo. Don't make fun of his body parts or he will jump.

Aberdeen, NC

I hate to say this, but maybe you should get him tested for one of those enhancement drugs!! He is a little guy but sometimes they start out young........

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Did you use Miracle Grow?????

Aberdeen, NC

OMG, ROTFLOL ........ too funny !!!!

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

So are you trying to say that this ugly worm developes into a hummer moth? Didn't know that!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Yes Janet! :)

Looks like baby had a rough night :(. We have feeder bands from the Katrina storm coming thru and baby has been hanging on for dear life! .... bless his little heart. He is living proof the miracle grow does improve your strength but it only last 4 hours.

Poor Baby !! He looks like he was through a rough night. Do they have shelters open for little wormies??
How are you doing with Katrina on the way? Are you expecting a close hit? You take care of yourself too. ;)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I am fine. Thank you for thinking of me. Palm Bay is about 20 mins north of Vero Beach. We are long ways from where the storm came in. It was a little too windy at times for critters but refreshing! beautiful! glorious! cool weather for humans and brugs in my area. :)

Aberdeen, NC

I am glad to hear you missed a direct hit!! The winds can be nice but hard on plants and animals. I am always amazed that it can be beautiful, sunny and windy and have a hurricane plowing through not that far away. FL went through enough last year with the hurricanes,,don't need anymore!
How is the little wormie doing? Did he make it through, too?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

He was missing this morning. I found him on a different leaf. His world is still not totally calm yet but he's hanging in there like a little trooper! 15 minutes ago it was raining soooo hard and he was flying in the wind. Right now the sun is out, it is breezy and beautiful and he is munching along.

He might be getting ready to shed his skin. If I remember correctly they shed 3 times. Forget a picture I'm sure. The rains and wind will probably wash the shed skin away before I could spot it.

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

My brother in Tampa says the the storms clean every thing up, Sure it is bad if a direct hit. But after the storms come through even the lakes are cleaner.

Thought about you yesterday and glad to hear you and extended family, :) are fine.
Betty

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Thank you Betty :)

Check out the nursery. If you look to right you will see a shed skin. How adorable! We can watch these twins totally devour this brug! ... uh oh!

I look often and still haven't seen them on my brugs.

Is it just me or is this begining to sound like a Country Music Song?

The Green Wormie Song

I was born green and that's what I'll always be.
Like the Brugs and the Maters I'm green can't you see?

I got a hundred generations of green running through my blood
I was born Greeeeen and Greeeeen's what I love.

What do you think??
Who should we get to record it???
Does it need another verse????

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

It's a hit baby! All we gotta do now is find the perfect face for the album cover and a guitar player!

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

My daughter plays banjo she will record, you look for the face.

Aberdeen, NC

OH, I like the Green Wormie Song!!! It is a definate #1, ready for the CMA awards! LOL How about good old Willie Nelson. Ya need someone that can sing about Brugs and Maters sincerely. He hasn't had a good hit since that Beer for My Horses and this song might intrigue him! LOL
Is the IRS still after him or did he get that settled? With all the money he could make off this one, he might want an album of |Wormie songs!
Think we need a video to go with it?

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Video for sure! You can set that up can't you V8 ???

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I love the green wormie song too! It's soooo cute!
Don't send Willie anything. He might write a song about all the hornworms he's loved in his life. We got dibs on that song.
Do send album to Buffet! "Hornworm burgers in paradise", In memory of Betty's dearly departed. Jimmy could really do that song right!
Video? Only if the worms are all naked.

I'm getting scared. Today I found a new tiny baby worm. I moved him to the nursery to be with the other two. Double take .... there was 3 in the nursery and this new baby makes 4. How do I burp them all at the same time? How will I know who is who? Do you think different colored bows on their little horns will work?

Nashville, TN(Zone 6b)

Bows for sure. Maybe Nail polish, Each horn a different color.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

The nail polish would be a great idea. It really would. I would be worried that it would inhibited the shedding process. Someday we would see hummers flying around with their old worm skins still hanging off their butts. Not a pretty picture. lol!

Aberdeen, NC

You definately have a wormie nursery going on!! It sounds like your babies are collecting to a safe haven. Are they all getting along or are you running into little spats between them?? Maybe local news would be interested in doing a segment on the babies. Are they quads or is there a difference in their ages?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Now there is six. Just when I was getting bored with hornworms. .... eek! They are getting less and less cute! .... and I can't make myself kill'em. Goodbye brug! It's been nice knowing you!
