lolol hehehe, me too!
Harlot - biggest flush of the year
Loaded with blooms, healthy dark green leaves, and perfume to die for! I'd say you two hit the pay load!! Congratulations to you both!!
heheheheeh I just hope I have something worth trading for that beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OhioBreezy, just don't sell your soul for it!!! LOL
LOL well now I will have to consider that one!!! tee hee it sure is a darling one to get ahold of...........
What a fun time you guys are having, I love it!!! Too much there to remember from the time I started reading it, until I got to the end, that I can't remember what I wanted to write!! I love Harlot too and did not know that Susie and Tracey were the hybridizers, they hit a homer with her, Harlot is special!! Oh, I have a PB x Hybrid Inca Sun seedling from Kyle...it's been burned but I believe it is going to be okay, I would love it if she looks just like her mom or pop or a little of both...
Pink Beauty x Hybrid Inca Sun, from Kyle. Mine doesn't look as good as yours Julie, she's too close to a tree, but after seeing Brugie's Inca Sun, I'm digging her up and put her in a better spot. If you look VERY closely, you can see her teeny tiny buds, two in this photo, photo made just a minute ago.
Forgot, seed planted 2/22/05.

I do! I see it awwwwwwww, it's adorable! Will be watching for yours to do it's thing girl! Your's is greener than mine lol :-( lol but wider Hmmm weird huh? It's beautiful Sherry!
I wonder why mine has serration? I'll look and see which one of the parents had that....goes to show that not one seed is like the other doesn't it? Cool Beans!
Hugs and night night
............J
I prefer serrated, like yours. Mine was recently defoliated and everything fell off, so these are 'baby' leaves, brand new. Thanks!! Seedlings really are fun...
Got Bud!
Now you're speaking my language. :)
Ok, now we've got a new one added to my future harem:
Hussy
Flossy
Floozy
Shameless
Midnight Tramp
Sherry - feed that baby like there's no tomorrow and let's see some pics. I poured a little brew on the ground in her behalf.
LOL if that works I'm gonna try it too Blaine! LOL
Thanks Sherry but I don't have a bud yet :-(...Maybe I will soon though...I'm pumpin that hose in the a.m. and the p.m. hehehe lol
Upcoming feature: L'Amour x EP, sent to me by Kell, is beginning to open!! First seedling to bloom this year. Happy. Thanks, Blain and Julie!! I fed today and really cannot tell it, except on established plants - the seedlings seem to be slower to respond...
I mixed in some sand and it really started mine going and it doesn't lay stagnant on the top of the dirt in the pot now either, so I am getting more sand to mix with my plants now...
I can't wait to see her Sherry, keep me posted woooooo hooooooooo
Oh Blaine, she is just beautiful!!!
Dare I tell my husband about this internet site that I visit so often? What will he think when he hears about the Harlots, Hussys and Shameless women that are here. This might be grounds for divorce in some states. LOL And then we have Suzie's Cabana Boys that stroll through the site every so often, and women with strange obscessions to the color pink. I can't even tell him it's all in good clean fun, because I'm often inspired to get dirty in the garden after seeing some of the posts here. Am I doomed? LOL
Mary
Ok Brugie/8ftbed/someone I HAVE to get a cutting of this Harlot!! WOW!!!! All the ones I have take 2 yrs to have decent flushes!! ONly have 2 right now even getting ready to flower!! Frosty Pink and an unknown Pink I traded for last Fall. The rest still seem kind of small and many do not even have the true Y yet!! I am HOPING they will all flower this year--course 3 of them I grew from seed this year so might not flower till next year (1 Canary Yellow and 2 --GOD!! Can't remember the name right now!!)!!
PLEASSSSSEE Someone willing to trade me a cutting for a cutting of one of mine or for postage????? (I have many more than the 2 about to flower and the ones growing from seed!! Mostly fairly common ones though?!!)
Bonnie
We'll see how many I end up with this fall when I do the hack-n-smack.
I can't commit to giving out cuttings until I find out if my leg is going to heal properly or if I'll be having surgery. There are several people out there with this one. I'm sure someone can help you out. The best time to take cuttings for me is late September or early October. I like to let them bloom for me as long as I can. Bonnie, if you don't get a cutting by that time, email me and if I am physically able, I'll try to help you.
Thanks both!! I will check with 8ftbed (when???) and if I cannot get one from her I will check with you in Oct Brugie. I don't blame you!! I like to wait till mine are finished flowering too!! Unless I have side shoots or extra stems which are not producing buds. Thanks! Bonnie
Man, Blaine...I was gonna ask 'How do you do it'...but i guess I've figgered it out by your posts....Harlots and other things referring to women of questionable charachter, and Miller Lite Longs?!
Seriously, Blaine...you've gotta Dmail me and tell me (again) what ferts, etc..you use.
Obviously potting up is a key, but I don't have room for that!
A few years back I root pruned and repotted and had the most blooms to date....this year, not much!...I'll just have to do that again next year.
Blaine, your GL is lovely, I've already killed 3 of them. They just don't like me.
Mary, it does sound like a shady group, doesn't it.
..if I cannot get one from her
Bonnie- don't worry about the Harlot. I gotcha covered. Oh, and btw, this is me. Don't let the love of plants and butterflys, wearing the occaisional mumu and crocheting a mean afghan now and then fool you. I also love loud mufflers, buffalo wings at Hooter's, running my snowblower in a blizzard shooting 30ft roostertails and watching Clint Eastwood's 'Unforgiven' several times a year. I also think dark sunglasses on a hot beach is one of the greatest inventions of all time. (so I can see what I'm not looking at)
Nan - feed 'em!! Get a 30 gal trashcan, dump in your fertilizer, fill and hit everything with the watercan. Thats all I'm doing. Mostly all I've been using is some 15-35-10 out of Stein's nursery. They've got several mixtures but they're cheaper and it works fine for me inside and out. Yeah, I've thrown other stuff in once in awhile but I think the real key is keeping them watered and they get 2gals of bluewater 2 or 3 times a week. Thats it. Other than standing around staring at 'em and slurping some brews.

LOLOL lovely gardens, and hmmmmmmmmm are those the dark sunglasses you wear when you "aren't looking...." lolol gotta LOVE that line!
the setting is in the back yard of a friend.
The Raybans do an admirable job but in a target rich environment - gotta break out the mirrored aviators!
LOLOL, well the neighbor has a lovely yard then. Bet yours is just as colorful
Wow, this is a fertile one!
I have never seen so many blooms at once. I was thrilled with 3 at one time. I was going to take a few pics this morning. The kids took the camera to soccor last night and filled the memory card with pics of their friends.
I do have a double lavender/purple datura blooming today.
Great going 8ft!
my heavens, that looks great! Thanks for posting your beauty
Can drool ruin a lap top?
She is just beautiful.
sidney
That Harlot is HUGE!! What a monster! hehehe Bonnie
Joe Kool in the sunshades--for some reason I didn't notice that photo before?!! hehehe
Blaine, you have such a healthy looking Brug. I bet your growing season is shorter than mine, but my Brugs are just now budding, I got some blooms in July but most of my new babaies are putting on buds now. It almost froze last night, phew! Close one. How do you overwinter your Brugs?
How about Mae West for a name, she was the essence of all of that!? If you need a home for a cutting of Harlot, I'd be glad to give her a good home.
Bj
Harlot is gorgeous regardless of which side you photograph her from!
