Does anyone in Daves have family or know of someone in Iraq? I have first grade ESL students most are new to the USA. I am trying to find a few "good men/women" for the students to contact, write letters to, and maybe send a gift/care pakage. I saw the post for anysoldier but there are so many I would rather know if anyone out here knows someone or a group out there that could really use a few letters from my little guys.

Thanks Mitch

Mitch, that's a really neat idea. I have a cousin shipping out this fall. She's an army veterinarian of all things. I was surprised they're sending her. She'll be leaving her husband and three kids at home, and as of the last time I saw her, she hadn't found a way to tell her kids about it yet. Hard to explain they'll be without a mom for a year...

I'm sure that whoever you find to send the letters to, it will be a great blessing to them!

We had a thread last year somewhere about sending cards, letters, care pkgs and such overseas. Not sure where it is now or where it went. If I find it will holler.

I hope so! Doubles for the kids to - they get to learn about America and who we are... I still need anyone if ya'll know someone out there who could use it!

Mitch, send Roadrunner an email. She's heavily involved in this, I think.

Great! We just traded a while back ... wish I would have known then! Mitch
