Ok the show started yesterday. Here's a picture. The flowers started white and fade to a peach color. Definately worth the wait!

Beautiful! Congrats to you.

It budded and bloomed pretty fast, considering you'd posted you just got it the week before 8/13?!

Wish mine would do that!

Kathy, what kind of light does your snowbank yet? I have mine in deep shade and it's not doing much at all.

I have a snowbank and it hasn't done a thing for me either. I don't think it even grew any. Today I took it out of its pot and put it in a smaller one. I thought maybe that was the problem. It has leaves all up the stalk, and the upper leaves they are turn brown all around them then start really looking bad. Then I think the cats really loves it.

The snowbank is next to the house and it gets only evening sun - after 5 pm. I do nothing special. I only fertilized it once since I bought it in August. I believe that it is at least a 2 year old plant. The nursery where I bought had these last year. The ones for sale were left over from last years stock. Maybe the age of the plant has something to do with it. Does anyone else have a snowbank older that 2 years? How has your snowbank performed?

I took a closer look this morning at my snowbank and besides damage from the cats, many of the leaves are burnt around the edges from too much fert. When I dug it up, found root rot :( When I bought it, I potted it into a 7-gallon container from a 1-gallon. Big mistake. I then added too much slow-release fert. I have the rootball sitting in a hydrogen peroxide solution with a 1-gallon pot waiting for it. At least it won't take up much root in the basement this winter.
