It was suggested that we try to put the birthday person's username in the subject line of the post, instead of their actual name. Many of our newer members don't know real names...not to mention there are many Sherry's Donna's etc :)
Regardless, happy birthday all :)
Trish
birthday suggestions :)
I can understand that but there is no problem with posting the name in our message to them within the post if it is someone we know and they don't object to their name being used? Good to see ya posting Trish we miss you.
I believe the way it is presently being handle should continue.
Judy
No problem, mystic :)
Judy- do whatever you want...this isn't a "DG mandate", or anything...I was just passing along a wish from one of our fellow subscribers.
I miss you guys too! I'm getting back into the swing of things, though :) Half the people here probably don't even know me :)
Trish
Good point, Trish (and whoever suggested it). There are many duplicate names in the members. Good to see you, friend! :)
Great to see you aboard again!
I think it's a good idea too...if the greetings giver wishes to, they can personalize their message within the body of the post, but although I wouldn't make it mandetory, I like the idea of seeing the username in the title.
Thanks, GW :) It's been awhile, heh?
Mel- good to see you too :)
Actually, I've been around...reading, staying caught up...working on the back end with the others- just haven't taken the time to be on the forums. Turning a little attention to my gardens- online and outside! Trust me, both are very neglected!!!
Trish who??? :) Nice to see ya lady!
I think most of the time, friends post to each other in the forums the birthday person frequents the most. I am thinking most new people aren't really going to know the person either by their DG name or their real name unless they also frequent that forum AND have had dealings with them. When in doubt, one can always scroll to the birthday list and see who is having birthdays?
I think we can all spend a moment or two to say happy birthday to people whether we know them or not.
Hi Trish! How old is that baby, now? How about a picture?
Trish who? I don't know no Trish..
~~~me waving, good to 'see' you!
Hi Trish, thanks for posting.
I was just thinking as I was sitting here reading all the post above about the people on here that I have had the pleasure of meeting and it wouldn't have been possible without you and Dave. I have met everyone that has posted on this thread except for you. Thanks for being a part of a great place. Jim
~~~~Lisa! you didn't really forget about me?!?!?! Nahhhhh- couldn't happen :)
Jim- Dave and I remark about it from time to time as well. It is certainly overwhelming for us to think that this "little" website has had such an impact on so many lives.
Edited so I didn't leave out wind: Hi :) She's 2 next month- hard to believe, huh? And you know us....way to shy to post pictures :)

i've been following this thread too! And Jim, you can add me to your list of "Those I've Met"! eh?
Great to see you posting, Trish! This tells me you might be getting a little bit of a break from so many things you seem to always be doing! Yay! (Course now, being back online...hmmm, I have a feeling you're gonna be put to work here, eh!? )
Welcome back! Hope to see you around!
LOL Shoe....I've been at work all along- just behind the scenes (for the most part) :)
As for not being as busy...well, not really. I still have my first priorities- hubby, children, house. None of those are going away any time soon! :)
I knew that! ;>)
I just can't picture you NOT doing lots of things. Ya'll stay very busy!!
Trish, so nice to hear from you. By the way, great suggestion about the user name.
Trish, it has been so long since I have seen you around, and I must have missed something if you have another baby. Is that no. 4? girl......you shore are gonna have your hands full. You just wait till they all hit their teens, and girl.....it sneaks up on you, before you know it they are in the full swing of teenagehood and hormones are all over the place.
Very nice to see you again!
Pebble,
Wind was talking of the "baby" who's now almost 2. She was the baby all of DG was waiting and betting on :)
I can only imagine having teenagers and wondering where the time went....Each birthday around here hits me like a ton of bricks wondering where the time is going!
Good to see you too :)!! Remember back in "the good ole days"...just about everyone who posted on this thread plus a couple more of us- in the chat room late at night every week :)
Trish
Ah...ok, I remember that one.... i thought the post said she ws 2 months old, re-read it and it says she'll be 2 next month. I do remeber the excitemnt we all had and the anticipation........
I do miss the chats, but with the time differenc, I cant figure it out.....lol
nice to see you back in the garden.....
Hi ya Trish, nice to see you here again. It was nice actually seeing you in the pictures of your Texas nursery RU.
Oh my yes, there are many people here who don't know who your are....but you'll notice that us "oldtimers" are here posting to your thread. hehe We miss you and hope to see you more as time goes by.
