Garden Watchdog Question

I have recently received two different catalogs with different names, but saw they were almost identical and their mailing address is the same. I looked them both up in the Garden Watchdog, and saw that the address is different for both of them there - that they say Babylon, NY and these are Virginia Beach, VA. The two names are "Van Dyck's" and "Van Bourgondien". The comments I saw on the ones in the watch dog were pretty negative - especially for the latter one. How do we go about tracking these when there are different addresses, but seems fairly obvious that it is the same company? The pictures in the catalogs were very beautiful but I don't want to order from a company if it is the same one, just different mailing address. I also don't like how they disguise their names with different ones - really makes you wonder why.

I see that, I'm just noticing their address is wrong, and for some reason they have two different company names as well.

They have apparently moved, so thank you for the address update.

It's really up to companies to keep us apprised of updates, but they don't always do that. Once a year, we send a mass emailing to every company with an email address on file, requesting they review their entry and send us any corrections, or a brief note confirming their information is still correct and current.

Email addresses that "bounce" (undeliverable) are reviewed and corrected if possible, then the message is re-sent. Many companies take a moment to confirm everything is still the same or send us corrections but some don't.

Companies can have as many different names and entities as they wish - in this case, Van Dyck's and Van Bourgondien are one and the same (same mailing address now); they just choose to operate under two different names. It's their prerogative....we just try to keep track of them for the benefit of the GWD readers.

Usually a company that buys another company keeps their name so not to confuse/loose connection with their customers as is the case in this one.
