Ok, now I'm so confused...someone know how I can find the heritage for Cupids Blush and Cool Blush too while they're at it LOL? Don't mean to take over the thread OB but since we're talking kinda the same family of 'Blush' here and have no info on them. Maybe someone will come along and point us in the right direction. I haven't had a flush come at all from the Cupid's Blush yet but the Cool Blush is blooming nicely and perfusely....

Judy she is still just as beautiful as she was...Nice flower, you go girl!

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

Really pretty Laurrie, I am so happy that you have sniffing material. LOL

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

lol!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

LOL yes me too!!! Looks like I will be getting more sniffin material in next few days, 3 more ready to pop open on Blush :)

Here it was tonight when we got back from the pond, still "sniffs" well too!!!

this is the 3rd night for her, she smells and looks very well, our temps today were 90 and the bloom looked a teeny bit wilted, but as soon as evening temps started to cool a little she perked right back up!

She looks beautiful and is loaded with buds! A good performer!!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

She sure is, so do you think it will droop and quit tomorrow?

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

OK day 4 and still looking strong, smell is still delicious! Color still same as day 2.

You're killing me with the fragrance report!! Thats OK - Harlot is about to put on a big show and if the wind is right, you'll be able to smell them. Hah!

Another shot a few days later. I did notice that it has a lot of buds but a lot of them drop off for some reason. It would really be a nice one if I could solve that problem.

GRC, she is just gorgeous. I love the delicate color, kinda flourescent to me...it's just so dainty and pretty.

Blaine, NO FAIR...please do blow some South ok? AND blow really really hard too cos' it's got a long way to come. I wanna smell it too! lol I would absolutely love to smell 'Harlot'...I've heard lots of good things about that brug.

GRC wow nice bloom too! Do you happen to know anything of "Blush's" parentage, have been looking and can't seem to find anything on it????

Thanks for posting your photo, it's nice to compare color from different areas of the country!

Laurrie

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

just was reading about the bud drop - mine isn't doing that here, but perhaps my temps are cooler??

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I don't have anything on Cool Blush, but in my notes for Cupid's Blush I have "unknown seedling" x Butterfly, Eric Knight 2003. Hope that helps some.

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

hmmmmmm this was just listed as Blush, and I found reference at another site with Blush, but parentage is not listed there either, I also know someone who grew it 2 years ago, also just as Blush.........so I guess I will just keep trying. Thanks for the info you did provide on Cupid's Blush

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Laurrie I got mine several years ago from a member and she never posts any more. Her name was Jackie but I can't remember her Dave's handle. I'll think of it later and see if I can contact her and find out for you.

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Laurrie here's the link to where I got mine and it was stormy19 and I see that she is not a subscriber any more. I remember she was having some health problems and mentions it in the link. She states that Blush she crosses pollinated but didn't mention what the crosses were. Where did you get your Blush from if you don't mind me asking. Just wondering if it was some of the ones she was sending them to in the link.

Are ya'll coming to the Ky roundup again this year?

P.S. Good Mornin'!!!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Mornin!!!!!!!!! to ya, I leave in 10 minutes for work, so was doing some quick photo editing and unloading my floppies (yup old Sony FD mavica camera with floppy disk) LOL

I think it's the cooler temps we are getting giving me these lovely darker flushes, there is one bloom on this plant that is smaller than rest, hmmmmmmmmm they stole all the goodies away from it LOL

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

lol! You have a wonderful day at work k? We'll see ya when ya get home :-)

Oh, I have a Sony MVC-CD350 too!!!!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

LOL I am home yippee, and got me some pollen, yes, you know what I am going out to do right now!~!!!!!

ok my camera is: Sony MVC-FD200

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Beautiful pictures of "Blush"! Did you ever get any pollen for her?

Jim, you are correct that the contact person's name was Jackie. I couldn't for the life of me remember her DG name, "stormy19"! Thanks for remembering it!! I had received a cutting of "Blush" from her too. I don't know the parentage either!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Shirley: Yes I sure did just in mail today, told hubby to watch for anything coming for me and "fridge it!!!" he did and when I got home I tried my luck with 5 kinds, I am soo excited I can't stand it LOLOL

GRC, I got my cutting from one of 3 people, I didn't mark well enough to know but I am fairly certain she wasn't on that list.
Stormy19 (Jackie) wrote: ""BLUSH--CROSS POLLINATED THIS ONE MYSELF, HEAVY LARGE LEAVES AND FLOWERS LOOK LIKE THEY WERE DUSTED WITH DIAMOND DUST""
I wonder if Stormy19 is still around or if anyone is in contact with her? I would love to know what was crossed to get this beauty!!!!

OK stupid question, how long until I know if any of these 5 I pollenated today took?????

~Laurrie

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

and then, how long before they're ripe and then what're you going to do in October when the frosts come? Are you pollinating something in a container or planted in ground?

I did multiple HarlotxGL, GLxHarlots this morning not knowing what I'd do if they start developing pods. I guess I'll go out and airlayer the branch(es) as soon as I see pods developing. Then by Oct there should be a good enough root mass I can just cut and pot. In theory anyway. I've never done this before.
