Email question

Is there anyway since we can not delete email that we could get a folder to store the ones we no longer need. It is hard sometimes to go thru all my emails, like when the new state quarters come out and I have to wade thru 3 month of emails to find who I traded with to see if they need the new one.

There should be a way to get rid of old unwated e-mails.

I don't understand why it's called e-mail anyway. Any messages don't come to MY own e-mail.

What part isn't clear? I ask because:

a) I'd be happy to try to answer your specific questions; and

b) The FAQs are one of the administrative tasks I work on - if they aren't effective in communicating, your feedback will help me make them better for the DG community.

I guess it is the technical stuff. You know how to do website and all of these things and I don't. So what the mud is me. &You work hard to bring all these things for us to enjoy and I don't know the first thing about that part. But I love the fact it i I know how to use what you build.

I understood they are connected, the 2 e-mails and when the sender
deletes their e-mail, the recievers e-mail is deleted and visa versa. I just don't understand how they stay connected. But even if you explained it it would be like you are talking in a foriegn language
that I don't understand

So when you or Dave explains that if one is deleted the other e-mail is deleted with it, I know you know that because you have built this from the ground up. If it worked any other way you would have done
it.

I don't sound like I even know how to explain myself.

Sandy, think of it this way: a D-mail is just like this thread, except it's only visible to you and the person you're writing to. If I delete this post, you wouldn't be able to see what I wrote to you.

If you had the ability to delete posts, and you drop-kicked this one into the deleted pile, I wouldn't be able to see what you wrote to me.

I hope that analogy works - trust me, the technology confuses me sometimes, too (I still think electricity is pretty much magic ;o)

But hopefully we can both be okay with accepting that d-mail works JUST LIKE any thread on any forum here (except it's private between two people) and that's why it wouldn't be fair for either person to delete the message "thread".

If you think of the messages as being written on a single piece of paper that you pass backwards and forwards between you, it becomes clearer. If one of you throws the paper in the bin, neither of you can see what you wrote before. Each dmail thread is a single strip of paper (or its equivalent in IT terms).

I did not respond to this as I realized later I was the one that was clear as mud. I did not seem to know what to ask.

But lo and behold someone else did and we no longer have to wade thru all our inbox to find something.

WE have folders. I am so excited. Now I can clear my email just like every time I think of something the thought disappears. My inbox can now, if I want, be as empty as what is between my ears...Just joking I was told there is potatoes in there if you look in my ears. Good thing as in this heat and no rain that is the only place I seem to have a green thumb.
