Cala pinks, lol

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's sort of gotten to be a joke, the pinks from several crosses I did look so much alike. It's even contageous, this is a Monika cross, lol. Guess it got too close to the other seedlings and got contaminated with the "look alike" gene!

My cross, can't remember which one, not important, it's just another pink(never thought I'd say that, lol)

Another pink

I do have one that looks very much like L'Amour in flower color and shape. The buds are shaped different and it's more pendant than L'Amour(which tends to stick out to the side) and it's tougher, easier to root! I will get a pic as soon as more buds open.
Here is Rosenquartz, remember when we thought it was just the finest brug? Well, it's just another pink.

Hey look, I found one that's not pink!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

At least Bleu isn't pink! Then I would make you call him Pink!! LOL. So what is that, a red hibiscus leaf, the one next to your first pink look alike?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Red leaf hibiscus on the right, Tropicana canna on the left I think. I didn't notice I had gotten Bleu in the pic till I started to post it, he's a pooch, follows me around every step I make in the garden.
OOps, not Tropicana, it's Australia, sort of wind burned from the hurricane!

Wow, I like Rosenquartz and your yellow one!

Knoxville, TN

May be all pink, but, they look beautiful Susie! That Bleu is such a ham.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

I think Bleu likes to have his picture taken. I've noticed him in a lot of your pictures. LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Yes, if he sees me with the camera he gets right in front of it. I have a cat that is just as bad.

They're all lovely Susie. I know what you mean though, we were dying for those type of pinks a few years ago, now we have tons of them.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Love your yellow!!!

Judy

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

You may have lots of pink, but I bet your yard is still beautiful.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Cala it may be pink but I still like rosenquartz. Good bloomer in our heat. At least yours are pink. Have been having a lot of CW growing. Composting White.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, Susie. Looks like Pinksville in your yard. Good to see Bleu is still running around. LOL

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Looks like pink heaven!

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Good show Cala. That first one has such a nice clear pink.
Fragrance check! Does any of them stand out in the nose dept. ?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I just noticed Suz, that the first pic has leaves that turn upward. I have been meaning to send you a pic of one of mine that does that too, a Butterfly. I hate that look. Do you think it is caused by a nutritional deficiency?

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

My Butterfly does that too. I figured it was just praying to be set free from my jungle. LOL Not gonna happen!
Mary

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, my Butterfly has upturned leaves too. I don't like that look either.
Ada, Bleu is still around, though I've threatened his life a few times. Notice he's on the rock path? He got in BIG trouble for stepping on my coleus plants.
8ft, Rosenquartz smells good, the others I'll have to check on tomorrow morning, I can't remember!
Barb, yes Rosenquartz does great in the heat and didn't suffer much from the hurricane, kept most of it's buds even. I took your advice for my ears Barb, they are looking much better with fertilize and water. I think I was starving them!
Thanks for the compliments guys, my yard is getting there but I still have a long way to go.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

The Butterfly I have at my friends doesn't do that. I am grumping!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, mine is in part shade, wonder if that has anything to do with it turning it's leaves up?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh.... the one at my friends is in full sun. I don't know. My leaves on mine don't look to good either, not a nice green.

They are all looking mighty nice to me Susie. I must say I like the yellow. Looks like a healthy sized bloom. I see bleu conts. to help you out in the garden. Like Kell said at least he's not Pink.. LOL
Thanks for sharing them with us.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Your yard full of pinks looks much prettier than my yard full of whites!
I especially love the yellow one. Is it related to Tuffy (Bert x Whiskers) SP-Scooterbug?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I will have to look up the cross on the yellow one, I know one parent was Whiskers. I did the cross several years ago, was crossing all kinds of stuff to Whiskers trying to get a tougher plant with yellow flowers.
Kin, I'm thinking about getting Bleu a mate and naming her Pinkie, like the paintings of Blue Boy and Pinkie by Gainsborough and Lawrence. Of course I'd have to change the spelling of his name, lol.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Tuffy is totally impressive. I love everything about it. In my humble opinion it is the best yellow I've ever grown. But she really acts ugly in the full heat index 100+ sun. But so do I. My ding dong neighbor behind me cut down his huge guava tree. It gave that part of my yard nice shade in the afternoon. Tuffy lives there and she was protected from the hottest late day sun. Now she is exposed and fried but she keeps on putting out new leaves and buds. When it cools off I'll just betcha she will be beautiful again in a hurry.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You are in such luck Susie.............my dog just had pups. I will send this one to you!!

Ya know acording to Kell you never have enough pink
But they all look good
now on to the other colors....

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, that puppie is a bit bright, how about a pale pink one?
CC, I tried to make you a double purple, but they came out white.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Gee Susie, I was saving that dark one just for you, the pick of the litter. She was going to be your birthday present.

Now I am crushed.

Ahhh~ Bleu and Pinkie Thats going to be a good one when you call their names out in Public... LOL
Wow that is a Pink Puppy Kell.
I love your brugs Susie, as I alway do.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Aaaaw Kell, I take it back, it's a beeeeeeeyouteeful puppy. I will told Bleu you were sending her, he's tickled pink!
Kin, thanks! I thought for sure the hurricane would blow all the buds right off them, but they survived.
8ftbed, all except one smells good, like baby powder. One didn't have much fragrance at all.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Too late Susie, I have already packed up your new birthday present.
Enjoy!!

OH.. when Kell holds a grudge she holds a grudge!!! yikes!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

pink bugs???? kell, that is really taking it too far! LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Pink bugs to go with my orange, red, black and green bugs!(oh yeah, and whiteflies too, pink and white go well together don't they?)
Kell, you're too good! I will have to reciprocate in kind(like maybe a pink GATOR)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Sounds great to me. I need a pepto pink gator bag. LOL Susie. Eva sent me a pink chicken wiith great taste last night. Yummm good!

Thumbnail by Kell
Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

You can skin that gator and make a giant pink pepto bag and then cook the pink meat( it tastes like chicken). We don't have pink chickens here, but we have pink spoonbills(those are birds)
