Today, I told Dh that I have seen some dirts dump trucks passed several times this week.. There was a land that have been digging for a pond down the road from my house.. I told DH that we need some dirts to fill and make level our yard since we built the house.. Our yards need some work.. so He went and talked to the man who works for dig and deliver dirts.. That's my daugther's friend's Dad. He gave us some good deal prices on them.. so they started delivered them to our yards this morning.
I am exciting, you know why? I can start do the landscape around the house!!!!!!! Oh I can't wait! All I know I need to fill up the holes... make level where I can ride my mower easy....
Here's photos to share with you! The only one thing I am sad to see.. is my grass have been cut down and clean.. and now there's dirts!!!!! Matt played in the dirts. Before that.. He was crying and saying Dadda, Dadda.. Daddy said, go play in dirts.. Matt went on the dirts and started playing. He was scared that we would mad at him if he play in dirts.. Poor Matt. It's his first time to play in the dirts.. He's having FUN!
10 loads of dirts!!!!!
Yeah, but when you get it spread, the grass will come back.
Great idea to get dirt hauled in!!!
Dirt washes off in the next bath, but the memory of the joy of "getting dirty" will last a lifetime. Let him play!
What a great deal you got!
Wow, good thinking to ask them - glad you got a deal on it. Matt looks so happy and TGIF is so right. :)
Yes we did.. Oh boy I am worn out from digging and filled up dirts around yard.. My back is killing me and I burned all my enegry! Tomorrow we have to do the work again before rain start pour.. maybe next week? The weather have been very hot and humid!!!!
Matt's worn out and so tired.... he will knock out ZZZZzzzz any time!!!! He will play in dirts again tomorrow! ;o)
2 years ALREADY !?! I like that hair. and congratulations on your dirt
Looks like you got blessed. Most children love to play in dirt. It can be the best part of childhood.
So, got all that dirt leveled out? ;)
yes..aready but still need little work just rake and make it smooth... one thing I am sick of dirts.. u know why??? MY DOGS!!! They have long hairs and they run in dirts and brought dirts in the house!
So I have been take dogs to the grass with the leash where they couldn't go to the dirts.. ;o)
Mini, a good pair of clippers will take care of that long hair problem. I keep our dogs clipped in hot weather every year. Even the Beagle(Darcy) and Blue Heeler mix(Misty). They seem to love being clipped in the spring. Old Hogan has long hair and he can hardly wait for me to clip him each spring. When he sees me with the clipper he almost jumps onto the table himself. Our clippers quit in mid clipping this spring and he about drove me nuts until we got them back and finished the job.
I'll bet you don't have a weight problem with all that work to do and children to chase. I'm so happy for you that you got that dirt. I know how important good soil is to a yardener.
GOD bless you, girl.
Yes.. I like to take my dogs for a walking down the long drive way and give me a good excrise walking.. :o)
Dh said we need about 3 more dirts in back yard.... since our house is on high ground so we need some more to fill on low ground around next to high ground..
I have been down with stomach virus for 3 days.. lost 4 lbs. been in bed lots.. That was terrible! But now I feel bit better but dizzy. I try to eat a bit this morning.
Tricia
Tricia, I just saw this thread and your pictures - how beautiful and green! I love all of the pine trees. I know you have a lot of work ahead, but it will be beautiful when you have it level and planted. Our countryside is all brown (is called "California Gold") this time of the year so the lush green is really special. Sorry about the flu; what a way to lose weight. Take care and get your strength back before working. Barbara
Tricia,
So happy I found this thread and got to see the dirt you wrote to me about! It's so much easier to see what you're up to with photos than just the words.
Your Matt is adorable. I wish those of us who garden could look as relaxed and content as he does!
Your home looks lovely. How about a picture of it from the front? Can I entice you to have a photo taken of you and DH and the children? We'd all like to see the whole family.
Have fun playing in the dirt.
Arlene
