Resizing photos

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Most of the photos that I have stored in my computer are 1600 X 1200 pixels. I am having a difficult time reducing photos to an acceptable size to post on Dave's Garden. I have Windows 2000 XP. I also have Picasa 2. When I resize the pictures become smaller (number of pixels) but it only produces a portion of the picture such as only one of the corners, not the whole picture. I need help!

Rocco, I use a program called Graphic Converter ($19.95) http://www.graphic-converter.net/
It lets me resize, adjust brightness, contrast, etc. plus convert from many image types to jpg's or others.

Rocco: have you checked out Irfanview?:

http://www.irfanview.com/

It's free, it'll do all kinds of stuff and it's really easy to use.

Irfanview rocks!

Which do you have, Windows XP or Windows 2000? If you have Windows XP, check out the free power toy for XP, Image Resizer: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Thanks for the info. I will check out the recommended sites. I hope to be able to post some pics soon.

Thanks,I had a program in my computer for re-sizing. I just didn't know about it. Once I found it, I have been re-sizing and posting pictures.
