Thanks darius!
At the last Ga Round-up I was fortunate to share a cabin with darius, and ncgard.,Nicole. Kinda like a terrific slumber party.
We discussed perscriptions and the cost of them. Darius said something about COSTCO.
Long story short , lost my ins., and really needed my meds.
Do ya'll have a Costco close to you? They are filling my 3 month Ultrim script for less than $30. I was originally told it would be about $12. to continue to get it from Express Scripts. Then today after they did NOTHING for a week I called back and they re-figured $220+, so I called Costco. No membership required for perscriptions!!!
Forget going to Canada, this is great.
I can't thank darius enough and I believe she got the information right here on DG.

You are most welcome!

We don't have Costco around here. I wonder if they do mail order. I mainly ask for my mother who has no insurance prescription coverage.

Jewel, google them and determine where the closest is. Then have scripts written for distribution at 3 months supply. Check prices.
It might be worth a 200 mile drive.

NJ, you might also ask at the local county public health office. Through a program they have, I get my prescriptions for inhalers free every 3 months.

Good info! I'm on way too much medicine for a girl in her twenties (but oh! am I a believer in modern medicine now-- I can't imagine how I'd be without it), so good prices would certainly be appreciated. Do they have better prices even if insurance pays a percentage? I'll have to check it out.

This is the best news ever for me. the final bill, $28.30 for 270 pills. I am still in awe.

If y'all can't find any programs that you fit in, check with the drug manufacturer. Many drug companies will GIVE you the meds for FREE or for a copay of $12 per Rx.

Check the company online for patient assistance or indigent care programs. My mom needed over $400 worth of drugs a month. After about a year, I finally found the Together Card which covered several of her drugs for a copay of $12 or $15 each. There is also the Orange Card, the Share Card, and many drug companies just have their own individual programs. The Plavix company GAVE us the $120/mo med absolutely free! The Together Card is a great card because it covers several drug companies under one card.

You have to have a financial need, and each program has a different guideline. But if you can't find anything else to help with medical bills, check the programs. They aren't advertised on TV and a lot of times, doctors won't tell you about them. Mom's doc didn't. He offered us occasional free samples of her cheaper meds, but never mentioned these programs.

Good luck to you all.

I have insurance with BC&BS now but when I had Cigna I used TelDrugs. Great thing was if I got the Doctor to write the RX for a year at a time TelDrugs would fill them at 3 month int.s and my copay would only be 30 bucks for the entire 3 months. 100 nexium for 30 bucks is a deal! *G*

Clark Howard's website has some great info about prescription meds and means of saving on them: http://clarkhoward.com/topics/prescription_plans.html
