Actually on second thought...I cannot imagine poppysue objecting to my posting a link to the daddy...so here it is

First brug seedling in bloom!!!
Lovely! Never met a pink I didn't like!
Mary
LOL Mary, I second that emotion!
WOW, Sue sure is a good record keeper. I am lucky if I know my name on any given day. The daddy is beautiful. You sure got one with good genes, Margie!
and I also did some measurements...
Overall length of blossom including calyx is 13 1/2 " Tendrils 2-2 1/2"
BTW...kell, I forgot to answer your question about hybridizing daylilies...I am not! Too much paperwork for me....I left that behind with my job and I have enough just with keeping track of daylilies and brugs!
wow palie that is so precious and lovely!!
reminds me of a pink petticoat... all sweet and frilly......

Margie, she's really beautiful! I love the long shape that flares out in ruffles and the soft pink lady-like color. 'Looks like a good grower and a heavy bloomer so far.
Congratulations to you and Poppy Sue. She really might be one for the books!
Kay
I am laughing here, Margie. You have been snookered punched. Gagged and tied. You belong to the brug world now. Totally. LOL
OK...after watching the white blossoms turning to pink before I came in at dark....this is what met me this morning when I went out at 6am with my camera...
I am going to be out for the day...darn, I don't know if I can leave all of this beauty! So I will post several shots now...and then see you later....
Just gorgeous, and great photos. I'm growing the reverse cross by PoppySue, Ursuline x Cuba 2 X EP. Hope it blooms soon and hope it is as nice.
Linda...This is the same cross of poppysues...OK...I guess the parents are just reversed! Yes, that is what you said, isn't it! Excuse me...it is early and I am rushing to do my gardening stuff, to get out of the house at 9:30am....for a dentist appointment and then to visit and babysit for a few hours! So my mind is not too clear right now!
Please let me know how yours turns out! When did you start the seeds? I think I have one or two more of the same cross as this seedling...but will have to search for tags later.
Have a good day! Keep smiling & I will too!
Edited...to add words to make the above more read-able!!!

Hey, I should not be sending you pollen, but begging you for some. LOL!! It is really a beauty, Margie. And look at that perfect standard. If you slip it into the ground next year, you will be amazed at the growth. And I bet you get incredible suckers to share. HINT HINT. LOL. Really PINK HOT!!
Oh LInda I am just waiting on yours now. I get so excited when I see these new ones. You would think they were in my yard.
Margie, keep posting pics. I am enthralled with her.
All these pinks! So beautiful! The only pink I have is Cherokee and she hasn't set any buds yet.
Stop it, now! I am getting distracted. Oops...too late! Sigh........making a list and checking it twice...and it's getting very long.
It's beautiful Margie! Congrats to both you and Sue on a great new flower.
That is so special Margie....................... sure send me pollen. I was kidding but why not. LOL You must just die when you look across the yard. When I have a real good one going, no matter what I am doing in the yard, I keep looking over to make sure it is still there. I love the look of lots of pink from afar.
Margie, I keep coming back here to look at her, she's just getting prettier to me! I can't wait to see the other 3 seedlings bud and bloom, hopefully this is the summer and we'll be lucky! Love looking at ALL your pics!
kell...I would be happy too...send me your address again! What is the best way to package and ship it?
Thank you Julie...
Margie, I'm SO happy for you and Sue! You both must be in Brug Heaven!
Such a lovely brug and wonderful pictures. I am happy for you and Sue. Look forward to seeing your others bloom.
BTW...these photos are coming straight from the camera! No editing what-so-ever!!! And they really do look just like the plant looks!
Now if they just wait until kells pollen gets here...I will be all set!!
What a beauty ... how exciting for you and for Sue!!
To die for Margie. Unbelievable. It has so many great characteristics. Sue sure did a fantastic match.
I put the pollen in the mail last night after work. So get there get there get there. LOL It should take a day at most. I will send you fresh pollen for my one with spider tendrils when I go to the plots tomorrow to water. If you have no fresh blooms, save it in freezer for next flush. I might actully be capable of being organized and bring an addressed envelope with me and a glassine envelope and stick it in the mail on the way home from there. Nah, probably not. LOL
Your camera is sure good. How is the macro? If it is easy to use, maybe I should get it. Sometimes the real nice cameras are the real hard ones to use.
Yes, kell....she Sue sure did !!! BTW...I put your pollen in the mail today.
I was just noticing that one thing that I really love about her is that she has no re-curve, I think it is called. I like that!
I love my new camera...it is a Canon Rebel XT 350D DSLR...I am finding it very easy to use. I also bought a Canon Macro lens 100mm f 2.8 (very expensive and very good) but I find it easier to use the 18-55mm for most things. With the Macro lens, you have to move close and away from the item, as the lens does not move. Plus I have to use a tripod with the macro, or it is blurry. Actually I am also using the tripod for all my photos in my garden now. I love how fast I learned how to play-back photos and erase them....also to change the aperture and photo quality and ISO on this one. You don't have to go
through the whole menu first. You can do it between photos if you like...easily! What kind did you get? Don't tell me it is the same one!! :-))
Photo edited...for printing...
Waterloo...thank-you!
Margie,
She has gotten prettier each day. Congratulations to you and Sue. She must be a delight to have in your yard.
Mary
And I can't stop looking. LOL Take lots and lots Margie, I for one never get sick of looking at flower pictures esp great ones.
I got a Olympus C-7000 Zoom 7.1 MP. A small but potent one for Chrismas. I got as far as taking some pictures and then not being able to figure out how to tranfer them to resize I think it was. I put the camera down and never picked it up again. I am not even sure where it is. DO NOT TELL TOM. LOL
Recently I bought another camera like my first one, used, a Canon Powershot, because they do not sell it anymore new. But it does not have enough MP. I literally wore my Canon out. I loved it. I was talking to Sue the other day, and she thinks we should go to a photography class for dummies. I have bought 3 new cameras in the last 2 years and I returned the first 2 for they actually expected me to read the manual to learn how to work it. I should have returned the Olympus too. LOL.
And forget yours, I can already tell by what you are saying that it is beyond my capabilities.
My husband has the digital rebel SLR also, and he likes it a lot. He has the artistic eye and takes great photo's. I'm happy with the Olympus 4.1 megapixel that is small enough to fit in my purse. I had planned on getting that 8 mega pixel Sony, but found I loved the small size of the one I got from Harry when Harry moved up to the Rebel. Kell, you might want to try an easy program like Photo Suite. I take my memory card to a card reader hooked up to a USB port and import it into Photo Suite. Can do simple things like crop, rotate, resize, and some easy special effects too. I never even read the manual. It was that simple to figure out.
Men don't like to ask for directions, and women don't like to read the manual.
Mary
Mary...sorry but yes I did have to read this manual...the good thing is that you can get a version that you can read on the computer, so at least I can really see what it says. The book of instructions is so small !!!
Here is my beauty from this morning...continues to be really pretty! Plus a couple of new buds not yet open, so I will have a blossom or two for kells pollen when it gets here! Thanks again kell....
That is such a beautiful pink....sigh!
:) Donna
