volunteers needed for a survey

Ladson, SC(Zone 8b)

Hi DGer's......I'm posting here as a last resort. I am a "work at home mom" and am having a hard time with my current assignment. I do phone surveys for a company in SC. I have been dialing numbers all day, trying to get people to agree to do a survey about shoe stores. It takes 20 minutes to complete I am just not finding anyone willing to spare the time. I don't blame them really, but I still have to make my deadline of Monday morning. Okay, just in case one of you very nice people are willing to do this for me, this is the deal. I need 3 more people and I'll be done. One in the Chicago area, one in the DC area and one in the Boston area. Each has to be a female, under age 55, who has purchased womens shoes in the past 3 months. If by chance, any of you decide to help me out, you can call me @ 843-224-9252 (my cell) My hubby will answer as I will be on my home line dialing and begging. If you call, I will call you back from my line and we'll do the survey and I will be forever grateful!
I haven't been able to accomplish any yardwork at all today and it's killing me!!! LOL We usually only work during the weekdays and it's actually easier then because people aren't so busy. Okay.....here goes, I"m gonna send this. ....can't believe how desperate I've become........Thanks either way, Angie

Pleasureville, KY(Zone 6a)

Not in your area, if I were I would help you out. Sorry, and hope you have luck finding someone.

Ladson, SC(Zone 8b)

Thanks so much defoecat. I actually can't believe I've stooped to this level of desparation. lol. I just had so much planned in the garden that I wanted/needed to get done this weekend. I hope I don't offend anyone. I know that most people don't like calls at home like these but it's kept all 4 of my kids out of daycare for the last 17 years and that is worth it to me. I don't mind doing surveys for people, its the selling things that bother me but even then, I'm not rude about it. Ya know what I mean? It's just someone doing their job and it's not an easy job to do. Anyway, thanks again and keep your fingers crossed! Angie

Starkville, MS

I would if I could. I don't mind surveys that much. I hope you get your quota before Monday. I think it is just wonderful that you have been able to stay home with the kids. Again, good luck!

I'm in the Chicago area and I'd be happy to do your survey but I haven't bought shoes in the past 3 months. Does that count?

Ladson, SC(Zone 8b)

Oh Cheryl, are you sure? No womens shoes of any kind? Not even sandals? Think hard......

Thanks for the kind words Ginni. I am starting to feel a bit better.....

(Zone 5b)

lol nothing I'm afraid. Not even slippers. I've been looking but I just can't find the ones I'm looking for.

N., CA(Zone 9a)

I'd do it, but i'm in California. Sorry!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I used to work for a market research company -- I was one of the clipboard-wielding people who accost folks at the mall. I feel your pain! Sorry I'm in Ohio, or I'd call you.

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

I buy shoes from B.A.Mason. Nobody else has 10 1/2 EEE on the shelf. I buy size 12 sneakers from the local Reny's. DW will purchase something to replace what Holly chewed up. Usually locally, in Belfast. Not really in Boston area, I avoid it at any cost. F. Hope you get your survey done.

Olympia, WA(Zone 7b)

Bummer! I'd help, too, but I don't qualify.

Frankay, I have the opposite problem. I'm a size 5, and for awhile Macy's only carried size 6 or larger. :| I save money buying kids shoes, but sometimes I really need shoes appropriate for my age!

Angie, I too admire your willingness to be home with the kids. You're almost there-- tomorrow you can get back to your gardening. :)

Thank all of you guys so much. The people here at DG are truely the best.

I still have the one survey to do in Boston. I completed Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, & DC. Boston just isn't working for me and it gets harder the more refusals you get because it starts to affect your attitude which is unfortunate. Anyway, I have until noon today, we shall see. This normally isn't my position with this company. I am the verifier which is much easier and goes much faster. My job is to call behind the phoners, verifying a third of the interviews completed which takes only a minute of peoples time, just long enough to make sure they actually did the survey the phoner turned in. I will NEVER agree to do these calls again and I have a new found respect for the phoners. .....Okay everyone, cross your fingers.........

Hope you did it - hope you did it!! ~ Suzi ♥

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Boy, now you have a picture of why the interviewers are tempted to fudge on their reports!

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

Before we moved to Maine we knew all about Massholes. Boston has the greatest concentration. Go west in Mass. and the people just get nicer. Even north shore or south, none are as nasty as Boston. Maybe you could greet them with,"I know you're ****** off, cause you have to live there. I'd like to ask you a few questions and you can vent at me!" (Just answer them, please.) Sorry, Good luck. F.

Ladson, SC(Zone 8b)

You guys are so funny! Yes, I did it!!! AND...I won't do it again! hehe

Seriously, that sucked. Thanks for being here while I griped. My husband stayed M.I.A. the entire weekend.

Thanks again guys, Angie

Angie, so glad you accomplished your goal!! ~ Suzi ♥

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

Glad it worked out for you. BTW you can call for a survey here anytime. I'm not real busy. But who cares what Northport thinks? F.
