Oh Happy Day...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika has made so many people happy. I'm one of them. This one is one of her seedlings and I'm hoping for color. The tendrils are awesome....and she is doing this at 88 degrees. I was going to wait to post until she was open, but couldn't contain myself. I wanted to share her with all of you. Thanks Monika.

What fun!!! I think I must have her pod mate. What a kick. Though my bud holds her self more nodding then pendant. How cool is this. I just love nice tendrils esp if they are pink. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You just can't beat pink tendrils!! LOL!!

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

Fantastic!

I am so jealous of those of you who live in zones where you can grow them in the ground... Ohhhh and not to have to dig my dahlias... I am green just thinking about it.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Tombaak, I'm growing almost all of mine in pots. Mainly because a lot of my seeds didn't get started in time to bloom last summer. I have about three dozen in the ground that I started last fall inside. Pots to plant in become scarce around here. I'm also jealous of anyone who can put them in the ground and leave them. She's getting darker. No picture right now. It's too hot out there.

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

OH, WOW -- that is AMAZING Shirley! Congrats to you and Monika -- what a gorgeous bloom!

My word, she is a beauty Brugie, how in the world did you get that photo, it is super, I love her color and tendrils, that go on, for F R...

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Gosh, I just realized that you, Brugie, got all that action in one day, WOW!!! I'm lucky to have that happen in a week, whew...

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Just gorgeous. I'll be away for 5 days, looks like I'm going to miss much excitement.

I hope my seedling (Kell) will hold off until I get back.

High Desert, NV(Zone 5a)

Do you over-winter in a greenhouse? We have a garage free now, we just bought a van with a hydraulic lift. My 5 year old daughter uses a power wheelchair. The van makes life SO much easier! But it doesn't fit in the garage. lol if it isn't one thing it's another :) I was thinking of all the stuff that would fit in the garage over winter. Not stuff that needs tons of light, but still the possibilities...

Pots huh? I knew there was a reason i have been saving the tons of nursery pots over the years, well, i mean a reason other than i am a pack-rat.

We hit 102 today (we usually have a few days over 100 each summer) this summer is shaping up to be HOT. So heat can be a problem here.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Congrats too You.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

tom, you are in the magic zone, 5a, Monika's and Brugie's, but, goodness, 102??? Even in my wretched zone, 8a, we haven't had temps that high, whew, and good luck, I hope you get a cooling break!!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Shirley, I am glad, that she is changing color. Lets hope, that it will be a dark Pink within the next days. I feared, that you were ending up with another White.

Lets all hope for a nice dark Pink.

That looks awesome!!!!!!
Dang you're good!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone. I did take a picture last night before dark. Dang it was hot out there. It was getting darker. I always hesitate to take pictures when the sun isn't shinning because most of the time, the color shows up darker.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This morning I had to get up early so I could water plants and then, with my friend Bobbi, go on a shopping trip. LOL! So, I grabbed my camera when I went out to water, and look at what I found.........The color is great. I do apologize for some of the leaves being a little tired looking. We have had some high winds this spring.

Now, I'm going shopping. Have a good day everyone and thanks so much for your interest in my "Happy Day"......I'm thinking that name could stick. LOL! .
