Monthly Update

Yesterday marked the end of another month of Dave's Garden, and today marks a new month.

Here is some interesting statistics for your enjoyment:

Site was launched on August 17th. Here are the average pageviews per month:

August: 111 pageviews per day.
September: 391 pageviews per day.
October: 1636 pageviews per day.

In August, we had 421 unique visitors.
In September, we had 628 unique visitors.
In October, we had 2,420 unique visitors.

Of our 143 members, 95 of them signed up in October.

Of 2,592 total seed entries, 2,044 of them were added in October.

The forums were launched on September 26th. Since then, there have been 522 posts made.

Here are the system wide statistics on trading:

Total Trades: 423
Finished Trades: 254
Trades sent: 367
Trades received: 257

Friends - I think we have a thriving community here.

My thought exactly, thanks for a great site where friendly gardeners can get together to talk and trade. I get enough stress from work, I don't need it online over a few seeds.

I saw one of your other threads resurrected, and thought this one might be worthy of a THEN & NOW post. How do todays numbers compare to those above?

Well, I don't have access to everything Dave does, but here's a rough comparison of then vs. now.

Average pageviews per day:

Aug..........111.......375,510
Sept.........391.......390,813
Oct..........1636......365,553 (thru yesterday)

In August 2000, we had 421 unique visitors.
In August 2006, we had 921,769 unique visitors.

In September 2000, we had 628 unique visitors.
In September 2006, we had 871,636 unique visitors

In October 2000, we had 2,420 unique visitors.
In October 2006, (thru yesterday), we've had 656,300 unique visitors.

(2000) "Of our 143 members, 95 of them signed up in October".

Fast forward to 2006 - my best guess would be somewhere around 4,000 new members this month

Way to go, where have all these folks been, don't they know what they have been missing? They will do the V-8 forehead slap when they find out how really cool this place is.

I had always wondered what the number of subscribers is.

Thank you for all that you do Dave and also the talented people who share their knowledge. I only have one complaint and that is this site is addictive. I have a very hard time doing some of the things I need to do because I also have to have one quick peek at DG. Again thank you so much

Al, when I last narrowed down the entire memberlist to just subscribers, we had around 7,000 subscribers.

Each of us is a "unique visitor". We each count as a single (i.e., unique) visitor, even though we may visit and re-visit the site several times a day.

So you are saying, after the first visit we are no longer unique? :^))))

Chuckle....well, not exactly. But we don't count you when you walk in the door for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or umpteenth time in a day ;o)

August had 921,000 uniques. Has DG had a million uniques month?

Yep - May was 1.2 MM visitors, and I think the months either side of it were at or close to 1 MM.

WOW!. That's huge.
